episode 20: who are you?
💎
"There were no people in that house, Kook."
Lisa crouched down to face her devastated husband as she got off the phone. Jungkook's hand brushed his hair as he sat by the bed's edge.
"But we'll find her," she assured him. "We won't stop until we save Yuqi."
"We were so close, doll," he said softly. "But she... she stayed back to make sure I get to you safe."
She stood up and hugged him. Lisa could feel him tremble in her arms.
"I contacted DK and the rest of the 97. They'll be here as soon as they can to help us track down Yuqi," she informed him. "Are you sure you gave the police the right address?"
"It's the only house in the woods, doll. I'm certain that's where they hid me for years."
They both fell silent. Then a few seconds later, Jungkook broke the silence.
"What's his name?"
"Hmm?" Lisa looked at him.
"What's our son's name?"
"You know about Junghyun?" She blurted out in surprise. Jungkook smiled. She felt her hear skip a beat.
It's still there. It never changed.
"Junghyun..." he whispered smiling. "Has a nice ring to it."
Jungkook made her stand up and pulled her towards him. She stood in between his legs and he was looking up at her while smiling.
"I missed you," he said as he hugged her hip. "You don't know how much I missed you, wife. I didn't even think you'd look for me."
"They said you were dead," she said cupping his face. "But my heart was still beating. That meant you were still here. That you were just lost. And I was right. Even if they said there was no hope, I didn't believe them. And by far I can say, I'm always right."
He tucked the lose strands of her hair behind her ear. "Yes. Yes you are."
"But I should honestly be pissed at you right now," she spat. "You did something stupid. And you said you played me—ya!"
Even though he lost some weight, Jungkook managed to pull Lisa on the bed. She propped her arms to his side as she laid on top of him.
"I needed to protect you," he defended. "My brother was a very dangerous man. And I didn't want to burden you with it."
"As far as I could remember, Jeon, I can very much take care of myself. Dangerous or not, you could've at least told me," she countered. "I wouldn't have questioned your feelings for me."
Jungkook smirked. Oh how she missed that.
"There are a lot ways for me to prove it to you after, wife," he teased as his hand went under her shirt. "Ways where we could both enjoy it."
She let out a soft moan as she felt his fingers trail her bare skin. It's been a long time. A very long time. And her body knew it was him.
"Kook..."
"Hmm?"
"Stop that," she whispered.
"Stop what?"
"What you're doing."
He grinned. "Do you really want me to stop?"
His hand travelled down south. She squealed when she felt his hand in her underwear.
"Jeon Jungkook!" she yelled at him and yanked his hand out of her pants. "You just escaped from being captured and the first thing you think about is sex?"
"No. The first thing I thought about was our son—which by the way I didn't know existed because you didn't tell me about, and then sex."
"I didn't know either!" Lisa exclaimed with a pout. "I only found out after you almost killed me. I passed out and I woke up with news from Chaeyoung that I was carrying your child and the news from DK that you didn't make it. Imagine the stress I've been—"
Jungkook stopped her rambling with a kiss. At first she was shocked but... God knows how much she missed this. Him.
Her eyes closed as their lips moved in perfect harmony. Like it always knew whose it was. Like two years didn't even pass.
"I love you..." he whispered as their lips parted. His eyes staring straight at her. Then she suddenly felt anxious again.
"I'm not dreaming, am I?" she asked making him chuckle and gently pinching her cheek. "You're really with me, right?"
"If we are, then..." he rolled on top of her, caging his wife inside his arms. "...let's make the best of it. Shall we?"
She smiled and they both fell into bliss.
💎
"Hey Lis—woah."
Yoongi stopped midway when he saw a bare man's back on the bed—specifically on top of Lisa... humping.
"What the—Yah! Don't you know how to knock?!" Lisa blurted out as Jungkook froze in his position. Good thing she was a bit cold so he covered half of their bodies with the comforter.
"I have a key card," he showed the two. "And I didn't think you'd uh... do it this soon."
Yoongi chuckled as Lisa threw the pillow towards him. Jungkook kinda recovered and rolled to his side—not forgetting to protect his wife's naked glory with the comforter.
"I'm sorry Lis," he said—still laughing. "but DK called. He said you two weren't answering so he contacted me. Now I know why. Please meet us in DK and Bambam's room. It's kinda urgent."
Then Yoongi left still grinning like an idiot.
"That was awkward as fuck," Jungkook murmured softly but caught Lisa's ear making the girl turn to him.
"Why, because he caught us doing what we used to do?" she teased him. "Don't worry baby. He's great but, you're better."
Lisa then hoped off the bed the started to gather her clothes. Jungkook's gaze stuck on her beautiful body.
"Quit staring, Kookie. Get up and get dressed. Yoongi said it was urgent."
Jungkook smiled before heaving a sigh. He still couldn't believe he managed to escape. If not for Yuqi, would he have ended up dead?
Lucas Wong disturbingly looked a bit like Taehyung. That time he first woke up he had thought it was Taehyung who found him.
For years he's been captured, Lucas would only tell him that his family owed him big time. Like, wtf does that even mean? Did Jinyoung do something to him?
"Look who decided to show up," DK said as he and Lisa walked inside their room. "Are you lovebirds done consummating your marriage? You didn't even wait 'til we reached Seoul. If Junghyun gets a baby sister or brother, we can confidently say the baby's made in china."
Lisa threw daggering stares at the guy making him raise both his hands in surrender.
"We're here to discuss something important, right? So stop meddling in my sex life not unless you want to fucking watch," she spat. "And where's Yoongi? He's the one who suddenly barged in our room unannounced."
"He had an urgent call from his girlfriend. Whipped motherfucker," Bambam commented.
"You speak as if you're not whipped with yours," Lisa commented. "Are you still wearing Mina's underwear, Bammie?"
Yup. That's the Lalisa Kim—Jeon, who I missed. The sharp-tongued heiress who he can't keep his hands off. Bambam did not last a second.
"So, what do you idiots want to talk about?" He said stepping in next to his wife with his arm around her waist. "This better be good for you neanderthals to disturb two years' worth of husband and wife time."
Bambam couldn't help but smile. Same with DK. They won't admit it in front of him but they did miss this idiot. They both thought he was dead, actually. But Lisa was persistent. And The 97 owe her a lot so they helped her find him.
In the end, she was right. The motherfucker was indeed alive.
"We looked through all information we have with this Lucas Wong you said," DK gave Jungkook an envelope. "Says here that he used to be a doctor but his license was revoked due to prescribing more than the desired amount for his patients. Also, one of the nurses in the hospital he last worked in matched the other person you've told us. Song Yuqi."
"Her license is still in tact though," Bambam continued. "Kook, did they inject you with something while they held you captive? Anything?"
Jungkook shook his head.
"He hurt her more than he did to me," he said clenching his fists. "To him, I was only a captive. He said my family owed him big time and he kept me there to torture my family. I don't know what Jinyoung did to him but I'm pretty sure he wouldn't care less with the idea of me being dead—"
"Not unless it isn't Jinyoung who he's after," Lisa interjected. "Kook, Jinyoung isn't your only family now. We are. And I think, it's us who he's after. Particularly, me."
"Why? Do you know him, doll?"
Lisa shrugged. "I'm not sure. But who else would he be after? And like what you said, he's out to torture your family. I'm your wife. That means he wants to torture me."
DK and Bambam turned to each other.
"But you don't know him, Li," DK said. "How could you have done something that made him kidnap Jungkook?"
"DK, I'm a Kim. Whatever I do, I piss someone off. Maybe I happened to have pissed a psychopath or something," she deduced.
"We don't have a concrete evidence to your claim, doll," Jungkook said. "For all we know, it's actually Jinyoung's enemy we're facing and he doesn't have any idea that the we had a falling out. But whoever it is that he's after, we have to get that guy arrested and save Yuqi—"
The hotel room door bursted open with a panting Yoongi sprinting inside.
"Taehyung called," he said as he tried to catch his breath. "We need to go back to Seoul as soon as possible."
"What? Why? What's going on?"
"Your grandmother... she had a heart attack and is in critical condition."

Earlier...
All employees gave way as Chairwoman Kim Daseom walked towards the elevator. Next to her stood Wooreum, her trusted assistant and all around aid of the Kim Family. Unknown to everyone, he too is one of the directors in the company.
Behind them is the chairwoman's secretaries as well as two bodyguards. Everyone was surprised since the chairwoman never came unannounced like this. She would only come if there's a board meeting or if there's a problem.
Was there any problem with the company?
As the elevator door opened to the top floor, the staff greeted her as she walked pass them straight to her office.
"Junghyun-a!" She greeted as soon as she saw the toddler in the arms of his eldest grandchild.
Ah yes. The elderly woman is tough around everyone except for her first great grandchild. And she'd hop on any vehicle just to see him.
Lisa and her still hadn't made up. But, she didn't want Junghyun to not know his own great grandmother so she'd visit the mansion once in a while. But it's been a month since the elder saw her beloved great grandchild. It's actually the first time she has hated Lisa for being such a workaholic.
Junghyun clapped his hand as the chairwoman took him from his uncle.
"He was supposed to sleep in the mansion last night but Taehyung kidnapped him from Jisoo," Jin informed his grandma. "He's coming with us since Lisa went to Shanghai. They finally found Jungkook."
"Your sister is really something," she commented as she cooed the little one. "She wasted a lot of money to find that one. He better be worth it."
"Halmoeni..." Jin said in a warning tone.
The woman rolled her eyes. "I don't mean it that way, Seokjin. It's been two years and he was declared dead. I hope this isn't another scheme he made up to swindle money from us like his brother."
"He's actually the reason why we got our money back, Halmoeni. He sacrificed his life for our family," Jin reminded her. "Plus, if not for him, Junghyun wouldn't be here with us."
"The only good thing that guy brought with him is Junghyun," Kim Daseom stated making Jin sigh. Why do he even bother? "So when will Lisa and her husband return? Surely he'd want to meet his son soon."
"They haven't said anything aside from the news that Jungkook's already with them," he informed her. "But I guess we could expect them here tomorrow or the day after tomorrow."
"Good," she said as with her attention still at Junghyun. "I need her here as soon as possible since I need her to be ready to take over your position."
Jin's brows furrowed. "My position?"
"Yes," she said. "You can't be both Chairman and Vice-chairman, can you?"
Jin's eyes grew wide. "Halmoeni..."
"Save it, Seokjin," she said handing Junghyun back to him. "I want you to call Taehyung and Jisoo to the conference room to further discuss things."
"Yes, grandma." The guy said beaming as he walked out of the room cooing his 'lucky charm'.
The elderly woman smiled as she walked towards her table. Her fingers trailed on the name plate she had on it.
Kim Daseom. Kim. An empire built by her family. A dynasty she has taken care of for years and now, it was about time she handed it over to her grandchildren.
Also, it's about time they find out the secret that may or may not change their family.
"It's a pleasure to finally meet you, halmoeni."
The chairwoman turned towards the stranger who dare barge in her office. Her forehead creased.
"Who are you? How dare you call me that—"
"But shouldn't you call your father's mother halmoeni in korean? Or am I mistaken?" the guy smirked. "Don't you remember me, grandma? Does Xenhui Wong ring any bell?"
The woman's eyes grew wide. "You..."
"My name is Lucas Wong. I'm your son's long lost bastard."
