it was dried and styled, sitting in soft tufts atop his head. thirty minutes ago they were both too full to start a new bag of purple doritos, plus the rockstar knew his nutritionist would already give him a lecture about what he put inside his body so close to tour. right now he didn't care, because he was staring at his new head of hair through the mirror.

the color was bright and definitely obnoxious, but somehow in all the right ways. "i love it." he said, reaching a hand up to play with the soft hair. it was red, bright and pretty and absolutely better than what he would have been able to do on his own.

jungkook just hummed and continued to clean up the items in one of the sinks on the back wall. he took off the gloves and tossed them in a waste bin, focusing more on the clean up rather than the adoration of a new look.

"what are you doing for the rest of today?" taehyung asked, standing up from the stylist chair and turning to face the other man. he had his back turned still, putting away hair tools into the trunk with all the other ones. jungkook finally closed it, and stood to face the rockstar. "not sure. i didn't plan to do this either." he said finally.

"that means you're free." taehyung said, still playing with his new hair while also taking out his phone. he texted his driver, already seeing the notifications from his manager reminding him of his vocal and choreo practices for today. "so you're coming with me." he added once sending the text to come get the two boys picked up at the entertainment building.

jungkooks hands were deep in his pockets once again. "and where is that going to be." he asked. he was watching the younger, but the males eyes were stuck on the screen of his phone for some reason still.

"i have practice at the arena." taehyung said, reaching down to grab the grocery bag and already start walking towards the door. that was his ride walking away, so jungkook followed. he wasn't in the mood to walk in this weather today which is why he was walking behind the male with his hands in his pockets.

the boys walked down to the streets outside and waited for the driver, which didn't take long since he was very punctual and already there five minutes later. taehyung got in the back and scooted over like usual, followed by his head stylist coming to sit beside him. "i won't be of much help." jungkook said, knowing he didn't specialize in these areas.

taehyung just shrugged and finally put his phone away. "that's fine. you're not coming as my stylist." he said.

"then what am i coming as?" the ravenette asked, looking over at the rockstar sitting next to him on leather seats too comfortable to actually be affordable.

he looked over as well, eyes meeting, "as anything you want to be." taehyung said, still looking at the handsome man, but the older glanced away just as quick as it happened. he just stared out the window and hummed.

the car ride was silent, one still looking out the window while the other picked up his phone again to scroll lazily through it. taehyung saw a photo in his camera roll from when he released his last album, all his closest friends surprising him with a cake and balloons and too much liquor for the amount of people that showed up. the eight of them finished it all and still ordered more.

it made him think, remembering that album and all the great songs that's been on there and how well it was received by the public. taehyung looked over at the ravenette, nudging his toned arm with an elbow. "hey you," he waited until jungkook looked back at him, "what's your favorite song of mine?"

of course he was curious what the man thought of his music, which he preferred and if there were any he didn't. jungkook just blinked and didn't say anything, because he couldn't. "i'm sure i would have a favorite." he finally had said, and couldn't help but almost laugh at the way taehyungs jaw dropped.

"are you telling me you haven't listened to my music?" he scoffed and crossed his arms, avoiding those dark eyes now. "i cant believe you. we are so over." taehyung glared at him.

jungkook rose an eyebrow, that deep chuckle filling the car and sounding so good to the younger. "over? what started?"

"keep being mean go ahead." taehyung narrowed his eyes some more, but the ravenette just chuckled and the car became silent once again.

it was a comfortable silence though, just the hum of the tires over the road and the occasional honk from some impatient or angry person. neither spoke and music didn't fill the car either, it didn't need to — and before either of them knew it, the driver had pulled into the back staff parking lot of the venue. there were a bunch of vans and trailers already here, unloaded and set up since the night was almost upon them.

taehyungs eyes seemed to brighten just at the site of it all. it was like a reminder of how close everything was, a matter of days before all this would be put to the test. jungkook glanced over, seeing the way the rockstar sat forward and held onto the back of the seat in front of him. that eagerness was so clear.

"here we are mr. kim, have a nice-" the driver didn't get to finish his sentence before taehyung jumped from the car, too excited to even wait. he was also a tiny bit late for vocal check and meeting with the choreographer. "thank you." jungkook said for the two of them, smiling politely at the driver who nodded in return.

the ravenette got out of the car too, following behind a disappearing rockstar that walked too fast despite those tight designer pants. "yo, wait up." he finally called and say the way that bright head of hair turned in his direction. taehyung dramatically sighed and put his hands on his hips while he waited.

"how old are you." he said once the dark haired male caught up. "you're so slow."

jungkook narrowed his eyes at the boy who just smiled up at him innocently. "not much older than you." he tossed back, then again he didn't actually know how old the red head was. for being famous, jungkook didn't know much about the boy. that always went both ways.

there was a lot that taehyung didn't know about his stylist either — and by a lot, that was absolutely everything. that was one of the downsides to being famous, having everyone know everything about you just with one click on the internet. he never knew anything about anyone, even if they told him stuff, that could all be lies to be friends with him.

"that's not an answer. you never really answer my questions." taehyung pointed out. the two of them were in the backstage area now, people passing around and getting things in place. jungkook just shrugged, but there was a small smile on his face. "you never really push for an answer though." it was his turn to point out.

"you would call me annoying if i pushed. you seem like that type." the rockstar said once they pushed open a door to a hallway. there were paper signs with arrows on the walls telling people where to go to not get lost. they turned right towards to get to the stage.

jungkook wasn't paying attention, just looking down as he walked and followed those designer shoes. "yeah probably." but he smiled when he said it.

there was no chance to throw something back playfully, and mildly flirty, because taehyungs name was called. it was his vocal coach, smiling big and welcoming the star with an equally big hug. "finally you're here. the band is set on stage and we already ran the backing track a couple times." his name was woosung, and he made the rockstars mood lift even higher if that even possible.

"you know i don't like backing tracks." taehyung said, releasing from the hug while his coach fell into step with them. the three made backstage, standing to the side where the band could be seen and some of the many thousands of empty seats. "i told them." woosung assured, "it's just a guide and will be played at 15 percent."

"lower." the rockstar said. he stood there with his arms crossed and eyes staring out at that sea of seats. jungkook would have been too, staring at something to vast and wondering how it would all be filled, thinking something so amazing and wonderful was actually possible and being here to witness it. he only watched taehyung though, seeing how serious he looked once it came to his work.

woosung just nodded, saying something about having ten minutes and to get his in-ears so they could run through a few of the sets. the two were left alone again, that silence welcoming them back.

"it's crazy right?" taehyung finally said while looking out to the stage still. "that's all for me."

jungkook hummed, looking down to scrape a stain on the floor with the tip of his boot. "mhm, you really got it all." he mumbled it, and maybe it was lost to the rockstar since he walked onto the stage and away from his head stylist standing on the side.

he was alone, but it wasn't unfamiliar to him. what was unfamiliar was the hand that landed on his shoulder. it was woosung, that same bright smile on his face even though it was now directed to a man he didn't know. that weirded jungkook out a bit. "what?" he couldn't help the word that slipped passed too quickly.

the boy didn't seem hurt by that though, the smile not faltering as he gave the ravenette a light push for them both to start walking. "let's go watch from down there." woosung said.

jungkook didn't fight it, and maybe that's because he did kind of want to watch from a better point of view. the two of them got off the stage and walked up on of the rows of the seats, sitting maybe ten back and having the best view of the stage.

taehyung was up there, red bangs flying back from his forehead thanks to the wind. he was talking to some people in his band, then another guy with a staff jacket came and handed him some things. it was all stuff jungkook wasn't familiar with, his experience with makeup and styling didn't come from working for this type of production.

he still sat down in one of the chairs, and woosung did too and he also seemed to like to hear his own voice. the vocal coach was talking about taehyung now, jungkook just hummed and nodded like he usually did when he really wasn't listening. he was too busy staring at the rockstar on stage, so comfortable and so in his element. it's like it woke something in him — and when they all separated to their respected spots, the music starting and being enhanced by the instruments on stage, it really did wake that part of the rockstar.

and it was truly a sight to see, so stunning and hypnotizing it was starting to seem impossible to tear his eyes away from the red head.
