"you don't like to wait on things do you?" it was the first thing that the man had said when jungkook came in with a folder full of order recipes, budget numbers and a dates of when the shipments would be coming in based on what taehyung had agreed he wanted. it's only been two days, and the ravenette may or may not have stayed a little longer that night to finish up what the rockstar said to do.

they were sitting in the lounge and the folder was on the coffee table between the three of them. "i'm not complaining." hoseok said, "it's less work for me to do." he was more than happy to hear that jungkook finished it up and placed the orders. that part was the most boring, he's brought up more than once that they should hire a computer person to do all that stuff with numbers and receipts.

jungkook just shrugged and sipped his coffee. "i had time." that seemed to be his answer for everything.

"well when that comes in taehyung will need to try them out, in case there needs to be some adjustments made." namjoon said and the two other males just nodded along to whatever he said, both more focused on the coffee and warm croissants that the lounge had today. "soundcheck starts in a week," namjoon continued reading off his phone, going through dates and things they needed to go to stay on track for the first show. once that was night was over, everything else fell into line.

after that the only issues were usually making sure no one lost their passport and the hotels were booked in advance in whatever city they were staying in next.

whatever the manager kept saying was lost to the ravenette, at this point he was only needed again once the orders arrived and even then he wasn't technically part of wardrobe. he just knew he wanted to be present since a lot of his ideas were being used. he also had nothing better to do, not until the tour actually started.

that time would go by quick, just as the day had been and just as the croissants disappeared from the dish on the coffee table. before jungkook knew it he was sitting alone in the stylist room again, sketchbook out and phone in hand. it was late, probably midnight. no one was here this late, it didn't take long for him to realize when people left and he could feel like he was alone.

except, he wasn't alone. he was too in his own head, too lost in thought and dreaming still with his eyes wide open.

the other male thought he was alone too, walking through the hallway of the entertainment building with a plastic cup of wine. it wasn't as fancy as taehyung normally would prefer, like the glasses back in his home just waiting to be filled once he got there, but they'd do for now. he was too lazy to look for anything else anyways, and the plastic cup was sitting right there just begging for it.

taehyung was going to go home, he swears. but the wine in his system had the boy humming to some song and strolling slowly through the halls as if he was at some park on an early morning. maybe he should do that, wake up early and try to get some fresh air.

impossible. people would see him, it wouldn't be fun to tease himself with a nice idea just for it to be ruined by cameras shoved in his face and people wanting to just say they met him. taehyungs nose scrunched and he downed the rest of his cup before going in search of more. instead a little idea sparked in his mind, a baby memory that was so small and trying its hardest to fight through that fog in his mind telling him to get more wine.

it was seeing that light under the door that one time, wondering why a certain stylist was here so late. taehyung didn't realize he was walking towards that room now, empty cup and hips swaying while he hummed. he wondered if the raventte was here tonight, he kinda hoped.

to his surprise, despite the tiny hope, taehyung didn't actually expect to see the lights on. when he pushed open the door, the rockstar grinned at the sight of a familiar fluff of black hair. jungkook was sitting at the table in the middle of the room, empty chairs around him. "hey you." taehyung said, kinda quiet but it should have been loud enough to be heard.

the other male didn't turn though, or even move. maybe he didn't hear after all. taehyung was gonna speak a little louder, but as he walked in he saw how the stylist had his phone pressed to his ear.

"oh shh." taehyung held his own finger to his lips, swaying a bit from the wine he's been chugging all night and blinking to focus on whether or not jungkook was talking to someone important or if it was a casual call. what was weird was that the male didn't say anything, or even move a muscle as he listened to whatever it was. that sketchpad wasn't out, neither was anything. it looked like jungkook had just been sitting there with his phone.

apparently it was no one, because jungkook remained silent and just took his phone away from his ear just to stare down at it. the curiosity got the best of him, and taehyung walked up until he was standing behind the male.

there was a little twist of his stomach, seeing a photo of a girl on the mans phone. at first taehyung made a face, damn he's straight. then he saw how she was way too young for that, and he felt a little better. she was really pretty, probably teenage years. her long black hair was in a soft waves over her shoulders, a smile so big her eyes made crescents.

taehyung smiled seeing the photo, she's a pretty girl who seems so happy. he saw how jungkook wasn't smiling though.

"she's cute." the rockstar finally spoke up, and he doesn't think he's seen someone lock their phone so fast. jungkook looked up at him, eyes narrowed in a subtle glare. "yes." he said plainly.

"what's her name." taehyung was curious, but really just trying to make conversation with someone he worked with. they'd have to talk at some point or else it would get weird. maybe he could thank the wine for helping him ask questions to a man that still seemed to be glaring at him for prying.

jungkook just shoved his phone into his pocket and looked down while doing so, "why are you here taehyung." he changed the topic so smoothly, especially knowing the kid liked to talk about himself.

"why are you here jeon jungkook." taehyung tossed back, a silly little grin on his face while he raised his cup to take a sip, only to realize it was empty. the ravenette just chuckled a bit at that and stood from the chair, "because it was quiet." he put emphasis of the 'was' part, "how much did you have?" he asked this time.

taehyung didn't even realize the subject was changed back to him again, the questions he wanted answered now forgotten as he stared back in the cup. "this much." he said, holding it up, "multiple times though so like."

"a lot." jungkook finished for him, receiving a nod and a giggle in return. "great." the older mumbled to himself. he barely wanted to deal with taehyung on a normal basis with that personality, now he had a giggling tipsy one. "give me your phone." he said.

taehyung nodded, handing it over and then holding out his own palm. "give me yours now." he said.

the ravenette rose an eyebrow, confused, "why?" he got into taehyungs phone, knowing the name of the rockstars driver and sending the man a text to come get him, along with a short apology for it being so late.

"i thought we were trading." taehyung pouted when no phone was given to him, until his one made an appearance in his palm and he grinned. "let's go." jungkook grabbed his upper arm, tugging him up from the chair so the two could leave and go home and not be around each other anymore.

theres been a sick feeling in the raventtes stomach, a swirling and swoosh that had him biting the inside of his cheek to focus on anything else. he hated this time of year, usually he'd look forward to it. not this time. jungkook glanced sideways at the boy he was still holding onto, how he hummed while they walked and only stumbled a few times. taehyung looked sideways too, catching those dark eyes and smiling a little.

jungkook looked away and pulled on his arm a little more, "come on." he said.

since it was dark out now the breeze was a lot cooler, no sun to warm up skin that was bare to the wind blowing by. jungkook shrugged on his coat, putting his backpack back on and waiting on the sidewalk outside the entertainment building for taehyungs driver to show up.

the boy was seated on the curb, hands in his lap and head titled back slightly. it was weird, how different he was acting right now. jungkook stood with his hands in his pockets to keep them from the cold, and he watched the brunette wait so calmly. it's like that energetic side of himself was just sedated, leaving nothing but a shell to sit and wait for all that to leave his system.

jungkook still frowned, that crease between his eyebrows just deepening as he fell further into his thoughts. all he wanted was this damn driver to show up so he could go back home and go to sleep and move on with his life. he didn't need anything else happening tonight to make him think of anything else but the tour he was preparing for.

it didn't matter how badly someone wanted something, things never turned out that way. life wasn't fair like that, as much as jungkook should have known that already. he hated life, it sucked and fucked good people in the ass when they least expected it. he doesn't know why now he was starting to expect anything different. that's not how things work.

as much as you may want something, no one ever had control over where life decided to chew you up and spit you out, leaving you to deal with the hand you were dealt.

jungkook wanted nothing to do with life after what he's been dealt so far this year.
