Amberfeather stared after her daughter. I can't believe that she thinks she is a mistake! Of course she's not! Weariness washed over her, reminding her of how tired she was. The vision of her running through the dark forest seemed like a lifetime ago, yet as she recalled it a fresh wave of agony drove her towards her nest.

The next morning, Amberfeather headed over to the fresh-kill pile. She dragged a vole off it and gazed into the sky. Watching the clouds dance with the breeze, she spotted a small shape drifting towards her. The amber feather! Feeling a sudden urge, she followed it. It led her to a clearing with five dandelions. Only one of them cast a shadow, a small one as it was seconds before sunhigh. Okay, so the shadowless dandelions are One-eye, Violetslash and Hickorypelt. The one with a shadow is Dandelionshade and the amber feather is me...
As she watched, the feather landed in the dandelion's shade. Amberfeather heard a snarl from behind her. She glanced around swiftly. Nothing... when she looked back, she saw the amber feather ripped broke apart in a dandelion's shade. Another snarl. Nothing. When she looked back, the sun was at it's highest, killing the shadow. Dandelionshade will destroy me, but she will still die. She understood the message that StarClan was attempting to give her, though it scared her, it also gave her hope. Even when the last breath eacaped her lungs, ThunderClan would keep fighting, and would become as strong as the sun. She padded away, head light.
"Amberfeather! Oh thank StarClan!" Shadowclaw greeted,"Don't go out alone! You never know if Dandelionshade's gone,"
"Oh, but it dosen't matter if she's gone,"Shadowclaw sent her a confused stare, which Amberfeather ignored.
"Anyway, when are you next battle training with Redpaw?"she asked.
Though Shadowclaw seemed puzzled, she answered firmly,"Tomorrow afternoon. Why?"
"I'd like you to teach us both,"
"Amberfeather the medicine cat wants to know how to fight?"
"Yes. Just do it,"she meowed, and padded into camp.

"Alright, Redpaw. We have Amberfeather with us today, so let's show her what we've done so far,"Shadowclaw ordered her apprentice.
The three were battle training in the hollow. I want to be able to fight for when I face Dandelionshade.
For a moment, the little she-cat hesitated. Then she lunged at her mentor, who dodged. But Redpaw had thought through the tactic. A second before Shadowclaw moved, she veered off course, intercepting Shadowclaw's escape. They fought mockingly in the sand for a while, then sprang apart, both gasping.
"Well done, Redpaw!"Shadowclaw panted,"I never taught you that!"
"Oh, I just added it..."Redpaw licked her chest in embarrassment.
Amberfeather sat still for a moment, pondering. While Redpaw had been cleaning her chest, she noticed something on it. She hasn't fought yet...but she has scratches on her chest...were are those marks familiar from? Memories splashed through her.
"Can I have some help?" "Sure!" "Oh, thank you, Amberkit. You can go now," "Wow, snow!" "I hope it clears up for the journey to the Moonstone tomorrow," "What have you got to say for yourself?" "Amberfeather expecting half-Clan kits!" "Her kits gave been born, why aren't we attacking?" "Because I thought of an even better plan..."
Her fur bristled. Dandelionshade! Dandelionshade had those marks! And I once saw her training with Darkpelt and Shadowclaw...using that very move! Redpaw's visiting the place of no stars!
"Redpaw!"she exclaimed,"You are being visited by Ashwing, aren't you?"
"W...what? Do you mean when I'm in a dark forest and a small, yellow she-cat oaths to make me a great warrior?"Redpaw admitted,"If you do, yes!"
Amberfeather cringed, discouraged by the apprentice's cluelessness,"Those cats are the reason for Dandelionshade, you mouse-brain!"
"What?"
"What's wrong with your mentor?"
"Umm...Ashwing promised to make me an outstanding leader, Shadowclaw said nothing of the sort,"Redpaw defended herself.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know that a mentor had to promise their apprentice to make them great!"Shadowclaw snorted.
When she saw that her mentor had joined in the argument against her, anger crossed her face and she stormed away.
"Redpaw, do. Not. Leave. It was anger and fear that turned Dandelionshade against us. Let's talk about this!"Amberfeather halted her.
"No. There's nothing to talk about. Please, just leave me alone!"she shrugged her off.
"Redp-"
"Amberfeather,"Shadowclaw sighed,"Stop. You have to let her go,"
"No, she can't turn evil! I won't let her!"
Suddenly, she could recognise the scene. She was acting like Starflame, Starpaw. Shadowclaw was being a mentor whilst Redpaw was Dandelionshade, then Dandelionpaw.
But this one's not going bad.
She dismissed Shadowclaw's objections as she headed after Redpaw. The dark forest got Dandelionshade, but they won't get Redpaw.
