The Begining
A young boy struggled with a crate. He wore a battered jacket and scuffed pants that were a size to large, along with finder less gloves that looked like they had seen better times. A long strip of cloth was used like a headband in an attempt to keep most of his shaggy locks of ginger hair hidden.
Keriteecan sighted as he strained to pull one of the larger crates across the bay. Trying to ignored the sniggering clicks of the other spices milling around the doc he moved to the other side of the crate and tried pushing instead.
Wondering what in the heavens was in this box he continued struggling to push it towards the wear house on the other side of the docks.
The crate in front of him was suddenly gone. With the loss of a brace he tumbled to the floor, landing smack onto his face. A chorus of rough laughter echoed around the doc as he carefully pulled himself up with a hand to his face.
"Thank you Milwakins," he said softly.
The larger creature made a face that Keriteecan knew to be a taunting smile and then continued on to the wear house with the crate.
Sighing softly Keriteecan headed back to the ship they were unloading. This time hefting a smaller but still heavier than he would have liked crate, and started back to the were house. As he entered and set it on the designated shelf, a friendly beaked face peeked around its corner.
"Hiya Keriteecan!" The feathered creature swung over the shelf and hugged the boy. It's form was quite similar to velociraptor, however, with FAR more feathers and what looked liked wings, and was much slimmer. they looked like they could have been a predator of old, but that illusion was ruined with the pastel pink scarf they wore.
"Hello Fey," Keriteecan smiled and hugged them back "what are you doing here? I though you had the day off."
"I do," they said and paused "and so do you actually."
Keriteecan looked at him in confusion "But I don't get days off, you know this. I can barely get hour for break."
"Well, they've been lying to ya." Fay raised its head and looked around for one of the managers "What they're doin is actually illegal, learnt that in my law classes. Not so useless now eh?" They smiled at Keriteecan.
"I guess not," he relented "but you know how everyone sees me; the last time I asked for a break I almost got fired!"
Fay paused and looked down at the young boy. It had always been a little awkward since Fay was several feet taller then their young friend. The grin that spread across their face was almost snakelike "I think I can keep them from firing you." Before Keriteecan could object Fay was gone again, probably on the back of some shelf or in the rafters on his way to go argue with a manager again. Keriteecan headed back to the ship with a sign, hoping that he wouldn't get in trouble for this.

A man with skin the color of obsidian stirred in his sleep, in front of him, only a single piece of glass that separate him from the vastness of space. the door opened with a soft swish behind him causing him to stir once more.
A woman in uniform walked in, heels clicking on the metal floor as she headed right for the man. As she reached him she gripped the back of his chair and flung him forward. The man instantly awake and rolled with the momentum and springing back up with a pistol in hand.
"Morning captan," the woman said is a sticky sweet voice "we're almost there."
"But Morgana," he whined "I don't want to deal with revolts today."
"Orders are orders sir," she poked him in the nose with her pen, despite being a full head shorter than the captains hulking figure "your costumes in the closet."
He sighed as Morgana headed back to the door. Looking at the closet the captan made a disgruntled noise but headed over towards it.
"My coffee-"
"Is already waiting for you." Morgana called from the hall.

Keriteecan was still in shock as Fay pulled him along through the crowd.
"How did you manage to not get me fired?"
Fay grinned "I threatened to sue them on your behalf and or bring in the inner gaurd."
Keriteecan fell silent in amazement. The inner guard were a ruthless bunch who often hurt the people with complaints as much as those the complaint was against.
"Come along my mutated friend! We have places to see," Fay practically threw Keriteecan into the air as they pulled him forward, swinging him into their arms.
Keriteecan laughed as Fay ran along walls and easily twisted between pedestrians in the market place.
"What is this place," he asked.
Fay looked at him "it's the market place, you've been here."
"Oh," Keriteecan said turning slightly red "only at night though."
"Eh, makes sence." Fay shrugged and continued on.
As they worked their way towards the dead center of the complex they passed through dark gardens, markets, housing complexes and more. When the finally did reach the center though Keriteecan was in awe.
Colored glass covered every surface, creating a beautiful sphere with boxes and balls floating around the middle.
"Welcome the the center, where gravity isn't a thing," Fay said, and then threw him into the center.
Keriteecan let out a short cry of alarm but quickly realized he wasn't falling but sailing sideways.
Twisting himself to look back at the entrance he saw Fay having crumpled into a heap of giggles and laughter.
"I'm gonna get you I swear!" Keriteecan shouted back at him "as soon as I figure out how to move in here...." This caused even more laughter from Fay.
