*team 12 made it to Minato's and Kushina's home. Naruto looked around suspiciously*

Naruto:is there a reason you decided to make the team meet here mother?

Kushina:well the backyard is considered a training ground so i decided best to use it

Naruto:really? And it would have no underline reason behind it?

Kushina:don't be ridiculous Naruto i respect your decision to live somewhere else away from your mother, the woman who gave birth to you and spend 17 hours in labor before you decided to pop out. Nope no reason at all

*Kushina said with a tight smile opening the door to the backyard with Haku and Sakura walking outside, Naruto looked at Kushina with a neutral expression*

Naruto:laying it a little thick aren't you mother?

Kushina:i have no idea what you are talking about

*Fake Kushina appeared behind Naruto on her knees hugging his neck, whispering to his ear*

F Kushina:what a disgusting show, i would never lie to you like this baby

Naruto:hm...i believe your right

*Naruto walked forward making F Kushina disappear like mist. Naruto walked ahead of Kushina who smiled victoriously thinking Naruto was talking about her and not F Kushina, Kushina walked out with her team smiling wide*

Kushina:alright, since i already know the two of you I'm just gonna do her, so miss Haruno tell me a bit about yourself

*Sakura didn't say a word she just glared at Kushina who smiled at her*

Naruto:name Sakura Haruno, her like is Sasuke Uchiha, her future is to marry him, her hates some girl named ino pig, and apparently you for killing her mother. She also never been taught that your enemy yesterday could be your Ally tomorrow

*Sakura looked down at the ground knowing better the to glare at Naruto*

Kushina:well I'm sorry about your mother but she had it coming she was a horribly corrupt politician

Sakura:but she was a great mother

*Sakura muttered making her hands in to fist*

Haku:she was human like everyone else

Yin:ejem

Haku: I've seen you in a human form so you count. Mebuki haruno was a human that did whatever it took to move ahead in life even if it meant screwing over a lot of people. Eventually the people who do that will eventually die by one of the people they screwed over

Naruto:hm...no doubt my fate one day but i so wonder who it will be

*Naruto said in a amused tone which again made Kushina looked at his with worry, a worry that Naruto ignored*

Naruto:so if i understand it correctly, we'll have to take D ranks missions until we reach the 40 completed mark, yes?

Kushina:correct it's to promote working as a team

Haku:there's not a greater bond then the one between me and my beloved i see no point in us doing this other the to get Haruno up to speed which is a pointless endeavor, giving what a pathetic excuse of a Shinobi she is

Kushina:Haku that was uncalled for

Naruto:but not untruthful, sensei how do you expect us to respect the pink hair girl when she only wanted to become a Shinobi was to impress a boy who will become corrupt thanks to Hatake's personal demons

Kushina:ignoring that last remark, she still passed the Shinobi test, like it or not she will be part of this team i will be training her and make sure she can at least pull her own wright

Naruto:hm..

*Naruto and Haku being on the same wave link both made a water clone*

Naruto:then Train away since Haku and me are on a decent level to put it nicely well be elsewhere until then

*Naruto took a necklace from Sakura, one of the last few valuables she had from her mother*

Sakura:give that back!!

*As Sakura tried to get it back but she received a punch to the gut for her efforts. As Sakura fell on the ground holding her aching stomach, Naruto placed the necklace in his pocket*

Naruto:when i see that you are trained to an adequate level you'll get this trinket back, when you can make me bleed I'll see you as an alley, when you bleed for the mission I'll see you as an equal when you die for the mission I'll see you as a friend,

Haku:come Beloved, let's give our sensei room to train the girl, we have a meeting we need to keep

Kushina:a meeting? With who?

*Kushina saw something magical, her Naruto having a small but genuine smile on his face*

Naruto:my guardian angel

*Before Kushina could question it, Naruto and Haku disappeared from sight, with a sigh Kushina picked Sakura up but the girl slapped the hands of her mother's killer  away from her*

Sakura:i don't need your help!

Kushina:you need to put your feelings towards me aside, like it or not i am your sensei without me you won't be able to survive, now are you gonna let me train you, or should I just let you leave the Shinobi program and live your life as a civilian? Even with the death of your mother the Haruno clan is still very well of so you won't need to worry about food. But that's not what you want is it? A life that's easy, a life that's devoid of danger. I can give you that life, i can take you to the world of shinobi, but that's all up do you

Meanwhile with Naruto

*Naruto and Haku appeared at the entrance of the main Uchiha compound and knocked on the door, after a few moments the door opened*

Mikoto:ah Naruto good to see you again and Haku it's nice to see you too

Naruto:hello aunty, so sorry to bother you by coming unannounced but i heard that he's free today, would it's be alright if i spoke to him?

Mikoto:of course please come in, I'll make some tea for the 3 of you

*Mikoto left for the kitchen as Naruto and Haku walked inside leaving there shoes at the entrance. Walking inside Naruto saw fukagu reading the newspaper, the man looked at the Uzumaki giving him a nod before going back to his reading, Naruto and Haku walked to the backyard where they saw him sitting on the porch with a book in hand*

Naruto:how many years has it been and you still reading the same book

*A soft smile appeared on Itachi's face as he closed the book and looked at the boy he onced protected whenever he could*

Itachi:it's a book without an ending i enjoy reading it and thinking of a different end for the characters in this story

Naruto;i don't see why, happy, sad, heartbreak, loving when in the end all the characters will die from old age, sickness, murder etc we all meet the shinigami, we all have the same end

Itachi:it's the path they took to that end that entertains me to think about, please both of you sit down

*Both sat in comfortable silence, the only sound coming from the steps of mikoto who brought tea for them all. Naruto took a sip of his drink as a smile couldn't help but reach his lips*

Naruto:such nostalgia this brings me, don't you agree?

*Itachi chuckled as he closed his eyes and remembered the first time he brought Naruto home*

Flashback

*Itachi was in the same porch only instead of a book in his hand he hand bandages. As he wrapped them around little Naruto's many injuries, mikoto walked do them and gave them both a drink, tea for itachi and some nice hot chocolate for a sniffling Naruto*

Itachi:i warned you to stay in your home at night

Naruto:there was people in my home i got scared....

*Naruto mumbled as mikoto got up grabbing her sword on her way out*

Mikoto: don't worry Naruto, aunty mikoto will make those mean people go away ok?

*Naruto nodded giving mikoto a small smile since that was all he could muster. Naruto drank his drink and looked at itachi*

Naruto:why do you wear a mask?

Itachi:because I'm Anbu

Naruto: why are you Anbu?

Itachi:to protect this village

Naruto:why do you protect this village?

Itachi:so that little kids like you can ask me annoying questions

*Itachi poked Naruto's side making him giggle bringing a calm smile on his face*

Itachi"Kushina sensei how i wish i could do more for your son, i hope what little i can do is enough in your eyes..."

Present

Naruto:you never answered my question, why do you protect this village?

*Itachi went back to his book and didn't answer. Naruto smiled and nodded he knew he wouldn't so he wasn't offended he just went back to drinking his tea as Haku laid his head on Naruto's shoulder and the three of them enjoyed a luxury for there way way of life. A peaceful afternoon*
