DfD 10

He didn’t think for a second the woman would return till her full time was over, then she need only to stay out of his sight for little over two hours and she could once again return to the mortal world. If that didn’t make him annoyed then the contented whimpering from Cerberus was enough to make a saint rip his ear drums out. From the time she left the hell hound turned into a sniveling little pup, crying at her door scratching it till his paws were raw. Thanatos wasn’t much better, he’d catch himself standing in her doorway more then on a few occasions.

Knocking three times on Hades office door he waited, till the distinct voice of his friend bellowed through the hard wood. Stepping in Hades looked all the more ready for him to explain what was going on, clicking the door closed Thanatos took a seat in front of his desk.
“So….care to tell me why the half mortal Trinity has been traveling all over the world?” Hades fingers beat down on the desk, waiting Thanatos’s answer. Nodding.
    “I yelled at her”

“I figured that much. What about?” Thanatos looked away, he wasn’t good with these conversations of feelings. Pushing out of the chair he looked at the many photos, hanging off random gems.
“You’ve fallen for her” Hades exclaimed, his beating stopping. Thanatos shrugged, not bothering to make eye contact.
“So what did she see your wings and freak out?” Rising he strode over to Thanatos.
“No” Shaking his head, he still couldn’t believe she had seen them for real. Hades gave him a pointed look, before clearing his throat.

“Than I am a patient man, but you are the one who called for my help.” Sighing Hades pinched his nose, knowing Thanatos wasn’t good at talking about things like this.
“She’s seen me….for me” He stated, clearing his throat and taking a quick glance at Hades. The room filled with a cold silence, before Hades burst out laughing slapping Thanatos on the back. Rubbing his shoulder, Thanatos gave him a quick glare.

“Well Shit! I knew that woman was different” Clicking his tongue, striding across to a large wooden cabinet. Two crystal glasses are removed from the top shelf, allowing Hades to pour the burnt orange liquid into them. He walked back over to his friend handing him a glass, taking a sip himself.

Thanatos held the glass watching the liquid turn into its self, the smell was sweet, but not nearly as sweet as her. He sighed this was worse then before, at least the first time he knew were she was. Hades studied his long time friend, he was off today worse then usual. But somehow his aura was also changing, it wasn’t the thick glossy black, sure it was still black because he was death after all. But it had a tint to it, a blue tint like Trinity’s.

“You said you knew she was different. How?” Thanatos took a sip from the glass, hot warmth flooded his throat as it began the trip to his stomach.
“Trinity’s aura is different then others, she’s brighter.” Watching his friends reaction. He didn’t move, a slight nod but nothing more.

“What color is it?” His face fell to the glass, he had a feeling he already knew.
“Blue…however” Hades smirked when Thanatos raised his head once more. He gave him a questionable look, taking another sip.
“It seems her time back home, has improved her aura. My beloved has checked on Trinity a few times, relaying the information at hand. The happier Trinity is the brighter her aura gets, so much so she is fixing shades that aren’t due yet”

The two gods stood, waiting for something to happen. Thanatos’s throat parched even with the drink more then half ways full, the words Hades just said still played in his mind repeating at a rapid pace. Was it possible, was there anyway for a mortal to do such a thing. He didn’t have the answer for that, all he knew was the more Trinity’s name came up the more bewildered he became.

Being the Underworld God has its perks, you can over see death its self. However Hades was not prepared for this little tid bit of information, when his love walked into announcing she’d figured it out. Persephone was somewhat his helper, she’d file things for him, make sure he’d have a decent meal if the work load grew higher. But what Trinity came along, Persephone mentioned that there was something strange about the girl, and she’d taken it upon herself to figure out just what that was.

Her devotion to the task was impressive, since she held the same blood as Hades, due to some mating issues. Persephone was able to watch, locate and listen to Trinity whenever her heart so felt. Hours upon days that woman studied, taking notes and before long bursting into Hades’s office with a endearing smile and a note pad.

“I’ve figured it out” She exclaimed, slamming her note book over his work load making him focus solely on her. Grumbling Hades didn’t have the heart to send her away, she’d been more then helpful to him over the years and if she thought she figured it out this quickly, then he’d obliged her.
“Have you now?” Raising his quill, twirling it around his fingers. She snorted pointing her perfect manicured black painted nail to the note book.

“Look here. Her aura is rising” He kept the laugher back, upsetting her so soon wasn’t a bright idea. The woman had a nasty temper, again mainly due to Hades dose of blood. Picking up the note book Hades read the stats she had, sure enough the woman had calculated every move Trinity made. He looked over the note book at his wife, she was bouncing up and down. Did she even know what the implication of what this meant? Hades took another look at the book, before dropping it back down to his desk. Persephone frowned, placing her hands on her graceful hips.
“You don’t believe me?” Her foot tapped, daring him to go against her work.

“Its not that, if your right this would change everything. Trinity would be the first, and only mortal to be able to do such a thing” Rubbing his hard finger between brows. This was a lot to take in, how was one even going to explain it to the woman if it were true. Persephone’s face softened rounding the desk, sitting in his lap an arm over his back.

“This is a good thing, now your workload wont be so heavy. She’ll be a goddess, one that saves the innocent.” Running her hand up and down his thigh. The quill tossed to the desk, giving Hades a chance to chuckle before looking into her eyes.
“Your amazing. Alright! I shall look into it more.” She squealed wrapping her arms around him.

Now with his friend before him he wondering if he’d understand it as well, it wasn’t something that happened annually. Thanatos had emptied the glass, staring into it as if it would suddenly fill back up. Thanatos frowned he knew what Hades was implying, but there was no damn way that human woman could become such a thing. Shaking his head he handed the glass back to Hades, giving him a nasty look.

“That’s not possible” Grumbling as the glass was taken from him.
“I thought so to, but I’ve checked into Persephone’s work. She right on the money, Trinity is slowly saving lives. Every time she moves onto a new location something happens, and her aura grows.” Hades placed both glasses on a table before moving back to his desk, he retrieve a stack of files placing them on top of everything else.

“These are just a few” Looking at Thanatos. He walked to Hades’s desk picking up the first file, opening it to see a young boy who was suppose to be hit by a drunk driver. Truthful he hated cases like this one, children that didn’t even get a chance to live some of their lives. He dropped it closed picking up another one, a woman in her mid twenties a battered abused victim. Her husband was suppose to be her undoing, a push down a flight of stairs. This case was fixed with a neighbored who heard the woman scream out in pain, he called the cops just in time.

The more files he picked up, the more he was baffled by the evidence. Trinity didn’t just save a certain type of person, she was expanding to the whole race. The last file dropped to the new pile, letting a deep sigh out Thanatos looked at Hades.
“This can’t be right” Hades sat in his chair, giving Thanatos a questionable look.
“Why because she’s a human, or because its never happened before?”

“Both” He replied dryly.  Thanatos couldn’t possible wrap his head about the idea that a mere mortal woman, had this kind of aura it was unheard of. She’d only been top side for a few weeks, what could possibly be making her so happy to rise her aura. The sharp pain of thoughts rocked him to the core, could she of found a lover. Just the thought killed him deep down, he’d kill the bastard if he touched what belonged to him.

“Where is she now?” Thanatos needed to see for himself, just what was making her so ecstatic. Hades smiled pulling out a remote, clicking a button he turned the 56in flat screen on. It roared with music while people danced to it, on stage was a woman looking similar to Trinity. Leaning against the desk he watched her sing her heart out, people screaming to her words.
“She’s been performing at small night clubs, seems our girls got a hell of a voice.” He stated dropping the clicker to the desk, letting Thanatos watch her.

Trinity jumped off the stage receiving pats on the back, while she walked to the small bar off in the corner. Her new found friend Jimmy handed her a water, telling her how great she sounded. Smiling at him she gulped the water down greedily, she’d only been singing at a karaoke bar when he heard her. It had taken a little persuading to get her to sing one night, but after the turn out she couldn’t stop.

“You gunna do one more?” He asked, taking her empty bottle.
“I guess” Shrugging, Trinity leaned against the bar listening to another singer. This had been her passion, a dream so far out of reach that she couldn’t help but take a chance. Some of her songs were of artist’s she really loved, while others were her own creation. The club roared at the mans finally solo, giving Trinity the mike before winking at her. Giggling she took the stage receiving an uproar of whistles, claps and I love you’s.

Trinity smiled warmly at everyone, finding that there was a certain dark shadow looming in the far left corner. She smirked, he’d finally found her again. Flipping her hair she pretended she didn’t know he was there, Trinity wouldn’t give him the satisfaction. She picked a song she had perfected a while ago, and was just dying to get it out to the world. The base picked up, giving the people the melody she would be working with.

“Wont you be my distraction? Be my surrender here tonight.
My fatal attraction, allow me to live inside this lie, Here tonight” She new the words would hit him hard, and she meant them to.

“Over the prison bars, I finally break away. Never one to lay here stranded. A lonely heart, I see your pretty face. It hits like a lightening bolt of love” Trinity used her hands, giving the words a soul like vibe.

“And its takin’ over, I can feel it in my veins now, and its takin’ over, Its coming into focus. Wont you be my distraction? Be my surrender here tonight? My fatal attraction, Allow me to live inside this lie.” She watched as the dark loom in the corner, faded a little letting her see his face. Thanatos looked somewhat tires, saddened really.

“And I feel like letting go, Erase this pain I’ve known. Wont you be my distraction? Be my surrender here tonight? Here tonight.” Another dark loom faded, as he took a step closer to her stage. His eyes resting on her alone, ignoring the woman around him who were drooling. The beat picked up a little, giving Trinity time to collect herself before her next few lines were up. Wetting her lips, Trinity readied herself for the fast beat she was going to have to do.

“Show me where to go, go. Show me what to say. Open up your heart, wont you let me fade away. Show me where to go, go. Show me what to say. You’re all that I need.” Thanatos’s blood froze the moment the last verse echoed threw the speakers. Was she talking about him, had this song been meant for his ears. Another step brought him closer, as she continued to sing her beautiful heart out.

“Wont you be my distraction? Whooah. Be my surrender here tonight. My fatal attraction. Whooah. Allow me to live inside this lie.” Her eyes met his, continuing her song of slaughter to the walls he’s constructed. Gulping away the thickness in his throat, he stood only mere inches from her now. His hand could touch the woman he had been looking for, feel the heat rip through her black jeans.
