Y/n POV

It's been about 3 weeks after Dwayne has joined our team and i have to admit, i like him, already. which is bad because i already have a boyfriend, Alex, which i don't even know if he's my boyfriend anymore because we haven't talked since i told him about the new recruits and told him about Dwayne and Kenny, i think he's jealous.
i decided to text Alex.

Alex<Hi

Y/n<what are you up to?

Alex<Hanging with Becca, watching movie.

Y/n<oh, i thought you said you weren't talking to her anymore because i was uncomfortable with her.

Alex<Why do i have to do everything your way? i'm not saying you can't talk to those Dwight or Kevin kids.

Y/n< omg wow, Dwayne and Kenny! are you at least gonna watch my game tomorrow?

Alex <idk maybe

Y/n< fine. bye.

What an ass. i'm close to breaking up with him, both Julie and Connie say i should so i can date Dwayne, as if he'd like me. then i heard my phone ding,

Dwayne< Hey y/n, would you like to go for ice cream after our game tomorrow with me? On me

Y/n< Yes Dwayne i'd love too!

I set my phone down and went to bed smiling thinking about Dwayne. i have to end it with Alex

We won 13-1, me scoring 4 of the goals. Dwayne helped score 1 of them with me.
i changed out of my gear and put on my regular clothes, which weren't anything fancy.

Dwayne was waiting for me by the doors, we walked out and he had put his arm over my shoulder and we were talking about the game when i heard my name.

"y/n? what the hell!?!" i knew that voice all to well.
i turn around to see Alex walking toward me and Dwayne.

"Thats Alex , Dwayne go or you'll get hurt" I whisper to Dwayne.

"I'm staying here i don't want you getting hurt" he whispered back, i felt the heat rise to my cheeks.

As soon as Alex got close enough he pushed Dwayne and grabbed me by the arm and twisted my arm hard.

"What do you think you're doing? being a little slut, huh?" he pulled me close, and slapped me across the face. he's started to pull me and walk away.

"Let go Alex" Dwayne said, walking towards Alex. Alex tightened the grip on my arm, leaving nail marks and making me bleed a bit.

Then Alex let go and pushed me into the wall, hard and slapped me hard across the face. By now the whole team was gathered around and that's when Dwayne landed the first punch right at Alex's jaw. Julie and Connie had come over to me and helped me up. Alex tried to fight back, but Dean and Dwayne got to him again.

"Where i come from, we treat women with respect!" I heard Dwayne say before walking out the doors. Julie and Connie took me away from the fight and to our dorm. I cleaned up the nail marks on my arm and looked at the red hand print on my face and my black swollen eye. I laid down on my bed when i heard a knock on the door.

"It's open" i yelled, i rolled over to face the door to see Dwayne standing there.

"Are you okay y/n?" Dwayne said, coming over to the bed fast and looking at the red hand print and black eye. "i swear i'll kill him for doing this"

"Dwayne?" i said looking into his eyes, him looking into mine.

"yeah y/n?"

"i like you a lot" i blurted out.

Dwayne moved a piece of hair out of my face, and studied it.

"i've liked you since the day i saw you when i first joined the team, i just never said anything because you were dating that bozo"

i smiled and he smiled back i patted the spot beside me and he layed next to me and i put my head on his chest. he softly stroked my head, playing with my hair. "i'll fight for you anyday if it means i get to do this"
