"I need to check on her, elf," Thorin said. "She is my fiancée."

"Thorin, finish the meeting. I will find her and make sure she's alright." Dwalin told him, setting a hand on his friend's shoulder.

"Very well," said Thorin after a moment.

Dwalin found Snowflake in the corner of a hallway with her knees pulled up to her chest and her hands to her head, which rested on her knees.

"Snowflake, are you alright?" he asked her. She didn't respond, so he assumed she hadn't heard him or seen him. He set a hand on one of hers and she looked up, so he asked again.

"My father's alive..." she breathed. "What am I supposed to think about that?"

"You can have hope," he said. "And be glad he lives. Maybe one day you will see him again."

"That is true."

"Now, your fiancé is worried about you."

The two returned to the room in which the meeting was taking place, just as it was concluding. Thorin ran up to Snowflake and wrapped his arms around her tightly. She was still in tears and Dwalin noticed she was holding her upper arm. Thorin noticed it too, when she did not return his embrace.

"Snowflake, my love, what's wrong with your arm?"

"I... I hit it off of something, I'm not even sure what..." she told him softly.

"Let me see," he told her, gently pulling her hand away. There was a gash, not big, but bruised around. There was a bit of blood that had not yet had time to completely dry.

Dwalin handed him a damp cloth and and a bandage that he had retrieved, knowing that Thorin would ask for them.

The dwarven king began to clean the wound with a gentleness not many others had seen before. Once he had it bandaged, the woman in front of him mumbled something.

"What was that my love?" He asked.

"I want to see my father."

"It is possible," Lord Elrond said, now entering the conversation. "To return the same way he did. Naturally, the dwarves would protect the mimic of you."

"Would I be able to bring him back here?"

"If he wishes to come."

By dawn the next morning, Snowflake found herself in a forest. She thought she saw a town, so she ran as fast as she could. People stared at her since she was still wearing her traveling clothes and one of Thorin's fur cloaks.
She asked everyone where she could find Will Treaty, but no one knew a Will Treaty. When she mentioned his being a Ranger, she was informed that Will was the name of the new Ranger's apprentice and was directed towards the cabin of someone named Halt. She wondered why everyone told her good luck, but brushed it off.

When she arived, she knocked on the door. An older looking mam of short stature with graying hair opened it.

"What do you want?" He asked gruffly.

"Can I speak to Will please?" She asked, suddenly nervous.

"Will, there's an exotic looking woman here to see you!"

A teenage boy with brown hair came to the door with a confused look.

"Do I know you?" He questioned.

"I think so... maybe I have the wrong Will..." Snowflake suddenly didn't want to be there.

"Well wait, who do you think I am?"

"The Ranger Will Treaty, married to Alyss Treaty."

"Who are you by the way?"

"I'm Snowflake, your daughter."

"You must really have the wrong Will. Alyss and I are only 16. And just friends. Sorry."

Snowflake left without saying anything else. Something had gone wrong. She wasn't just in another world, she was in its past.
