Bonus Chapter: Story Descriptions (p.3)
Here are even more of my unwritten story descriptions/titles that I've found in my Wattpad drafts!
___ ___ ___
Title: The Arena
Last touched: Early 2019
Description: In a future version of North America, renamed Puttern, overpopulation is an extreme issue. To help stop the problem, scientists randomly choose a certain number of teens to mutate. Injected with animal genes, they are shipped to the Arena where they compete like gladiators. However, a romance soon blossoms between two of the champions.
My Thoughts: This description is a little bit similar to that of The Hunger Games, so in that regard, it's not totally unique. I'm not sure if I totally understood how mutations worked, either—realistically, it would be the children of those injected that ended up with the mutations. But I think it would be an interesting idea, and something I might write nowadays if especially inspired.
___ ___ ___
Title: Sometimes Enemies Are A Little More Than Friends
Last touched: Mid 2018
Description: Riley Davis and Stephen Bradley are not friends. That much is true. In fact, they consider each other the people they want to avoid when possible. But when the two are brought together and must depend on each other for survival as a way to make them become friends, could they become a little something more than that?
My Thoughts: I'm a little divided on what to think of this. The prospect of an enemies to lovers arc I enjoy, of course. The description is pretty vague, so it really could go pretty much anywhere. The general idea of the plot does sound interesting, though I'm sure it would need a lot more planning to become a story worth reading. The title, though... That's a mouthful, and I'm not sure if it's a good one.
___ ___ ___
Title: Virus 319
Last touched: Early 2018
Description:
When you think of the future, what do you think of? Flying cars? More advanced technology? Robots?
You might be surprised to find that life in 3001 is quite the opposite of that technological world. Instead of flying cars, there are underground unpaved roads for any cars anyone still has. Technology? Nope. Robots? A few.
But something else has taken over. No, not a president. Not a leader. A virus. Virus 319. The deadliest yet.
City Five is where it hit the hardest. And that's where Glenjia Foxea lives.
Can a single, unprivileged girl stop a force strong enough to wipe out hundreds?
My Thoughts: Wow. That might be the most cliche dystopian/apocalyptic plot. And that character name and description? Wow. I genuinely don't know what to make of this, except that it's not something I would likely write nowadays and it would take a lot of work-shopping to make it into something worth reading.
