Chapter 08

Shreya's Pov

As Sri parked the car, I was sure that sri might have started hating me cause I was not shutting up anytime soon, especially about this Aditya guy.

"Shit Sri, what will I say to amurtha aunty about these flowers? She sure will kill me if she knows I went on to save An unknown man who I first saw in the pub and later met near the college and he gave me these flowers?"

"Oh damn! I am so dead! she'll burn me alive" I am not even kidding when I tell you my life flashed in front of me when I realised this.

Amurtha Aunty is kind and all but with my stupid curfew she becomes the evilest person the world has ever witnessed and I can be the evidence of that

"Just tell her I gave you these flowers! Now don't think much, Guru has been calling nonstop" Sri said as she got out of the car and so did I and my eyes immediately looked around the lawn.

My house is the prettiest place! My house feels like home and I feel blessed for that but it is a different place too especially with all the security guards! The only outsiders who could easily get through them were Sri and Guru.

It was weird it still feels weird but I don't know what happened the last three years the situation in my home is a mess.

With Hemanth my brother running away abroad ( god knows which country), amurtha aunty being extra strict with me and then my best friend Guru behaving like he is my personal bodyguard.

And the minute I went in I was pulled into a bone-crushing hug by none other than Hemanth Shetty my brother.

"You? I thought you were dead by now" Honestly The last time he called me was like 2 weeks back and that's the longest I have gone without talking to him.

Hemanth is my everything! Ever since we lost our parents it was just us and maybe a tiny part of Amrutha Aunty too but me and I were there for each other. He is the best brother anyone could ever ask but now that he disappears now and then and almost makes me yearn to hear his voice. I fear honestly yes I fear something is going wrong

"What a warm, lovely welcome sister " Hemanth said with a sarcastic smile

"When did you come?" Asked sri who was next to me

"Afternoon! I and Guru were here working on stuff" Hemanth said and my eyes immediately went to Guru who seemed like he was thinking deeply.

Something is going wrong!

Hemanth pulled me to a chair at the dining table right next to him and then Amurtha Aunty came with our other helpers arranging the table with food.

"Are you okay Shreya?" Hemanth asked and I nodded

"I am"

The dinner went by quickly with Hemanth, Guru and sri talking and Amurtha Aunty was busy trying to make Hemanth eat more.

Right now at the same dinner time, Hemanth cleared his throat and I bet on my

"I am leaving in two days!" He said
I expected this not something to be worried of but also not something to be not worried of too

"And this time Guru is gone Join me!" He added and I swear I saw Sri choking on the water even before she took a sip.

"What the hell? You kidding Hemanth you better be" I immediately said and looked at Guru to deny it but nope he just sat there
On the sofa like a bloody log

"Shreya calm down" amurtha aunty said and Hemanth looked at me and smiled 

How dare!

He might be my brother but he can't steal my best friend and run away while I have a big responsibility of playing Cupid for Sri and Guru.

"You're going to complete your degree this year Shreya! You guys told me that you wanted to start a cafe abroad and I found a perfect location I am taking Guru with me to work on it" Hemanth said

"Nooo! Hemanth don't do this I know you have every influence needed but this is our thing! I wanted it to be purely our business our hard work. Don't interfere in this " I almost yelled but nah I tried to keep my cool

"I know Shreya and who told me I am going influence? It's your business you guys are gone work for it! The only thing I suggested was the location and Guru seemed to like it! Don't you Guru?" He asked and everyone in the living room looked at Guru who just nodded

"Yes, Shreya! I saw the images the place is perfect" Guru said

"But the startup here? The food truck? We wanted to practice. I- Guru what are you actually in your right mind?" I asked him to which he nodded again

"As decided Food truck is complicated Shreya! The place where we rented here is almost ready! Until I come back you and Sri shall look after it" he said and Sri almost looked convinced with his talks

"But why are we in a hurry? We have time we can take it slow right ?" I asked

"You can Shreya! But a place like this in London is rare and if you lose it once I am not sure about the next time" This time Hemanth answered

"We should grab the opportunity Shreya! Maybe this is our call" Sri said softly and I nodded

"How long will you be in London?" I asked looking both at my brother and Guru

"I am not going to London it is just him" Hemanth immediately said

"I have business somewhere else" Hemanth added and I nodded because I knew he would not reveal his location no matter what.

"Two months Probably! If things go well" the guru said and I nodded

"At least you stay in touch," I said and stood up to leave my room.

"Shreya Brought you chocolates it's up in my room grab them before you leave, to your room, " Hemanth said and I nodded

Something was finally good in his visit!

As I climbed up the stairs I saw Sri and Guru climbing up too! Damn probably to steal these chocolates from me

I quickly ran to Hemanth's room and his suitcase was open. I immediately started digging it to find my chocolate and I found it but something else got my attention too.

It was a band! It looked like a hospital band in pure white colour and it

Was printed in black, along with was. A passport-size photo of a woman in her mid-twenties! She looked pretty and before I could look more into her features.

Guru and Sri had reached the room and in the process of grabbing the chocolates in my hands, they pulled the photo ripping it into two pieces.

Luckily I was able to save the band. I immediately pushed it into my side bag and tried to collect the ripped photo pieces but failed as only the bottom part of the photo was in my hand and the other part had fallen in the room god knows where.

Who is this woman? What is her photo doing in my brother's bag? What is this hospital band?

"Shreya thanks for the chocolates " yelled the guru who was running away from sri trying to save his chocolates.

God, you tell me this man is going to go alone to London and survive?

Even before I could think of answers to my questions a notification sound from my phone broke my thoughts.

It was from an unknown number saying hey Shreya I immediately checked the name of the sender in True Caller and it said, Adithya Varma.
