We have begun too late…

At dusk, all things shine, gloriously and truthfully. The golden sun melts upon the land while darkness rest here and there like dots upon a cheetah’s body painted upon the landscape. It’s now when you don’t have to be a hero to look heroic, not a devil to look all-empowering; you will shine at what you are best.

As if anything that great would last long…

As the treats end, then came the horror. Eternal darkness, well they last for an eternity and nothing can live that long. If you’re a being of the dark, great! You will adapt, wither, blend into the abyss of oblivion darkness and perish. Even the sun hid it’s face after dusk, self explanatory for what happens to all those beings who live in the light.

They die…a terrible, cold miserable death.

But this time, they will not die in vain.

Soon will rise a being, blessed yet doomed without end. A singularity, the vigilante, a hero…

A being born of the dark, cursed to amble aimlessly without reason but with a hope so strong to find hope itself…

Another Epilogue, Another End

The funeral was short…

People still understood this as if we were in grave danger, problem with renting a suitable place for the occasion or couldn’t find a band…

Blasphemous!

There were three who attended, the dead man’s murderer, the person who ordered him to do so and a young girl.

The girl in red velvet…

The priest spook swiftly then left, probably unnerved with the presence of powerful beings in one place. Replace his spot was the eerie silence, who did an even better job at keeping everyone that way.

“So, our hero is dead”, says me.

“And after that, he shall be resurrected. Like the phoenix from it’s ashes” came the reply

“More like an ignorant-retarded-walking-hunk-of-dead-meat-of-what’s-left-of-our-only-hope” I managed to tame my wraith down to a whisper

“Excuse me?” the girl asked

“Oh damn it, don’t you understand. This is everything the plan is built upon: irony. Our only hope is rested upon a being who is cursed to never have hope. Why couldn’t we let him live and wait for a better time? Surely there are places he could…”

“Hide. From the darkness, nothing can hide….” the cold reply hit me hard

The girl in red look startled, as if she does not know how to bring herself into the conversation. She opened her mouth a couple of times but stopped herself. At last, we both looked back at her…

“So... my order is to wait for him?”

“Yes, dear. You shall wait, with all your youth. Darkness gives power to things that can be corrupted but youth, that’s a force can only has one side. Hide carefully. Enjoy your days in pure loneliness, for that is as far as we can help you to stay alive. Our powers are dampened and weak,… but it will be suffice to keep you safe”

“Safe” I nod in agreement

“But, grandma…. What will I do when I meet him?” she gazed at us with her big, brown eyes.

I could not stand disregarding the gaze of such an innocent child but the time has ended, final preparations must be done…

“You shall be it’s guide. But remember one thing. The being will resemble of someone it used to be but it’s not. Don’t treat it as a human…”

“But…”

“Obey my command,…and I wish you the best of luck” this time her gaze was soft but her eyes as sharp as ever

“Yes, madam”

The time has ended. It’s approaching.

“To be honest, I never liked you, shadow men”

“Let me get started on this subject….”

“But lets put that aside. When we aid each other here, we are in debt of each other for eternity”

“When I die, I shall remember this and put a smile on my face” I grinned

And with that, darkness rained upon them
