Nikolina was nervous about meeting the Granger girl, for they had only spoken through the letters back and forth over the past weeks. This was the girl that unknowingly aided in the crumbling of her friendship with Viktor, but Nikolina determined she could get along with Miss Granger, after all, none of it was her fault. In fact, Miss Granger was helping her to see her George and surprise him.
She had followed the girl's instructions on how to make it to Diagon Alley where she had stayed the previous night. This morning, she was to expect the Miss Granger to come pick her up. She was preparing to leave her room for breakfast when an owl arrived from the girl who was on her mind.
Nikolina,
Something has come up and I will not be able to meet you in Diagon Alley myself. I am, however, sending someone in my place. It will be the same time, but you will instead meet outside of Ollivander's wand shop. I'll see you tonight!
Odd, she thought, that something would come up so suddenly, but she was happy with the knowledge that she would get to see her George that night.
After her breakfast, she realized it was a quarter til ten, and she had only fifteen minutes to find this Ollivander's.
She actually made it there early and went to the bookshop nearby. After paying for a copy of Hogwarts, A History to satisfy her curiosity about the foreign school.
She returned to the outside of the wand shop and sat on a bench to wait for whomever would be retrieving her. After waiting for a few minutes, she was surprised to see red hair coming toward her through the bustling street. At first she thought it was George but something told her she was wrong.
"Fred?" She questioned, confused by seeing one twin without the other.
"Yes Nikolina, it is I," replied Fred, with an exceedingly dramatic air about him. "The brother of your knight in shining armor."
"Very funny Fred," she replied. "Vhy is my George not here also?"
"Hermione didn't want the surprise to be revealed so soon."
"Vhen vill ve be heading to your home?"
"Soon," Fred promised the Bulgarian. "First, is there anything you wish to get from Diagon Alley?"
"No, I haff everything I vould need."
"Well we aren't going to my house. I'll explain on the way."
By the time they had reached where Fred said they must go, Nikolina had heard all about the Order of the Phoenix and the return of Voldemort, and now she finally understood the death of the other champion, Cedric Diggory.
"So, vhere are ve going?" she asked, still confused.
"To the headquarters of the Order," Fred replied, pulling a piece of paper from his pocket. In long, angular writing it read The headquarters of the Order of the Phoenix are located at number 12 Grimmauld Place.
When she looked up, she saw a building that had not previously been there, and was startled, but asked no questions.
Fred led her into a home of chaos. She heard a lot of shouting and running but one voice carried above the others.
"GEORGE WEASLEY STOP APPARATING JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN!!" came the voice of an angry woman.
"Don't mind mum, she's always on us for one thing or another anymore," Fred told the visibly concerned Bulgarian.
Suddenly, two heads of red hair came around the corner, both stopping short when they saw there were people in the entryway. One, Nikolina instantly recognized as George and she laid her bags on the floor, expecting a hug. The woman, she assumed, was their mother.
"Nika!" George exclaimed, coming to his senses and wrapping her in a tight hug.
"Hello my George," She replied, happy to be in his arms once again. "I told you I vould be seeing you soon.
Mrs. Weasley, still quite confused, was led to another room to have Nikolina's identity explained to her by Fred. Nikolina and George, however, left Grimmauld place to take a walk and hang out.
"How did you manage to arrange this surprise?" George asked the beautiful girl beside him.
"Miss Granger aided me; she seemed quite pleased to do so. Ve both thought it vould be a good surprise for you," Nika explained. "I still do not know vhy she could not meet me in Diagon Alley."
"To be honest, Nika, she's afraid to meet you."
"But vhy?"
"She feels like it was her fault Viktor was being so gruff towards you."
"It vas no such thing! Viktor had his choice and his regrets are not her problem. I am sure ve vill be very good friends," Nikolina said. "Besides, she vas very helpful vhen I vas trying to surprise you."
When they returned to Grimmauld Place, George left Nika to go with Ginny to the room they would share, with Hermione.
Ginny opened the door and Nikolina came face to face with the bushy head of hair that was Miss Granger.
