you had been more than willing to go with peter to help rescue dunkirk soldiers. your best friend, and crush, collins was a pilot who had been sent to dunkirk. his mission was as dangerous as always, and you were worried about him. peter had tried to convince you to stay in england, and that he could take care of things, but you ignored him and climbed onto his father's boat anyway. you had been trying your best to be helpful in any way you could, but there wasn't much you could do about the quiet man who had climbed aboard your boat, or about george and the wound on his head.

soon, you saw a plane crash into the water, and you called peter's father to let him know which direction to steer the boat. the man seemed to be having struggles with getting out of the plane, and he got out right before he drowned. you quickly recognized the man as collins and reached for a rope to help him get onto the boat. the man recognized you, smiling and getting onto the boat. he stumbled onboard, and you quickly wrapped your arms around him, holding him in a warm embrace. collins rested his chin on your shoulder, pressing his nose into your neck. you felt at home in his arms, thankful that he was alive and safe.
