Paint Balloons
I rushed to my car, dodging water balloons I knew to be full of paint. Pieces of red balloon and a vibrant green paint splattered on the window next to my face seconds after I closed the door. I smiled, revving up my engine.
"Not today," I muttered to myself, thinking of many a time I'd come home with paint splattered across my face.
I glanced over my shoulder to see a red pickup truck pursuing me, two figures protruding from the sun roof, balloons in their hands.
I wasn't sure who they actually were, but this had been going on for a while and I had always found it to be very entertaining.
I turned back around and drove faster, determined to beat them today.
When I glanced back around, the smaller one picked up a glittering purple one, tossed it around in her hands, then threw it, revealing a sparkling white interior. The paint seemed to move on its own, the way it followed me.
I watched in shock as it hit my back window, shattering the glass, and hit the back of my neck.
I traced the slimy path with my index finger, then brought it back to my face.
"What the-?" Then it all went black.
