Epilogue: One More Dance

Matt finished his victory pose and landed back on the ground. "So, about that dance?" He asked Kinzie. She smiled at him. "I'll be waiting for later. Set up the best stuff you got, loverboy~" Kinzie cooed as she descended from the roof. Matt checked his interface that he still had. It had linked to his suit, so he could pull it up anytime he wanted. It was already twelve midnight. All that crusading ate a lot of his time. Still, as long as he had the time, he could prepare for what he wanted for so, so long. One more dance with Kinzie, his one love. He took a look at Lux's body and scoffed. He touched it and sent it somewhere she can't be revived. One wonders where... He looked around the roof and saw it was a perfectly good place to set up a dance floor. The stars were still out, so he didn't need a hefty ceiling design. He started to use his powers to create speakers, different floor-mounted lights, a dance floor with changeable colors, and a few other details. It didn't take him much time, as his powers had peaked from everything he went through, and since Synthism is now fully in control, he felt perfectly in tune with the realm. An hour after he started, he applied the finishing touches, and with that, the dance floor was ready.

He looked for Kinzie in the Citadel. He found her in the main quarters, reading a book. "Hey, it's ready." He told her as he went in. She closed her book and stood up. She was back in her normal outfit, jacket, glasses and all. "Classic, huh? I'll do that as well." With a snap of his fingers, his Synthwalker outfit was changed to his normal one. He smirked, but Kinzie just laughed at the expression he was doing. "Come on, let's go. I've been waiting a long time for this." Matt said as he turned away from the door. Kinzie followed him up some stairs, all the way to the roof. She found a brightly lit dance floor, speakers in weird placements, lights pointing randomly, and a turntable on the other end of the area. She chuckled before looking at Matt. He extended an arm and smiled. "After you." She stepped onto the dance floor, and under her, the lights began to swirl in a loop of cyan and dark blue, Matt's two main colors. Matt stepped onto the floor next, and two circles appeared, following directly under Matt and Kinzie. Music began to play from the speakers. "Get up on the floor, dancin' all night long, get up on the floor, dancin' till the break of dawn, get up on the floor, dancin' till the break of dawn, get up on the floor, dancin'..." Matt got close to Kinzie and took her arm. He twisted her around carefully, and extended his arm to catch her. Kinzie stuck her leg out to stop her in time, so it was like they pulled a great technique.

Matt wouldn't let go of her. She was his one and only. Suddenly, memories of everything he's been through start to run through his head, like a montage of his actions. Almost like a story... When he first walked into the nightclub and fought Lux. A memory of getting transported to the Shaded Realm and escaping its law enforcement. The man who told him where to go, and what to get. Finding the Headphones, Turntable, and Deck. His battle with Lux. Finishing her off with Boss Mode. Becoming King of the Realm. Kinzie coming here, and getting shaded. Him killing Pearl, and getting beat up by Kinzie and the Shaded Sisters. The fight with Kinzie, and sealing off the Realm after losing. His depression and near suicide. Getting thrown back into the Shaded Realm and having one more chance. Defeating all the Idols and Agents. Saving Kinzie from Lux's grasp. And finally, the most recent one, killing Lux permanently. It made him happy, knowing that he finally got his happy ending. He gets to stay with Kinzie and rule over the realm benevolently. He couldn't have had it any other way...

Ten years later...

A young, eight-year old Inkling approached the statue of the Synthwalker on a hill. She looked up at it in wonder, gazing upon the details, from the sword to the podium. A plaque was placed on the front. It read, "Matt J. Miller, Synthwalker". She read it every time she came here. It was a wonder to imagine what the days were like back in the past. Suddenly, an Inkling approached her from behind. "Come on, June, let's go you little rascal." Matt told his daughter. She was always so giddy, but Matt loved his daughter no matter what. "Your mother's probably looking for us. Better get back home." He kneeled down next to her as she was eyeing the statue. "Like what you see? That's me, y'know." He smiled as he told her. She turned to him and asked. "Daddy, when are you gonna tell me how you became the king?" June asked her father. He simply chuckled lightheartedly. "Don't worry. I'll tell you all about the Duel of the DJs sometime. But for now, that'll have to wait." He stood up and led her back to the car, and headed off to the Citadel. Having settled down in the Cyan Realm, Matt felt a sense of accomplishment. Like he actually amounted to something for once. And he damn loved it.

And so, truly ends the tale of the Synthwalker, Matt J. Miller, who conquered the evils of Lux and her Beatists to bring light to the darkness of the Shaded Realm. A father, a king, a hero...
