Chapter 5: Agent vs Agents

Matt was almost finished with his targets. Chunks of the Realm had been converted to Synthism, but the majority hadn't. While Matt could spend more time freeing them, he had more important things to deal with. Besides, he had a hunch that if he defeated all of the core Beatists, the entirety of it would be freed. So, he continued on to where the Agents would be found. The place was located on the outskirts of the Citadel. There were three areas Matt had to clear in order to enter the nightclub-turned-tower. First up was Three's area. It looked like the Metro... sort of. Same polished metal flooring, dim violet lighting, and an eerie silence to top it off. Matt walked forward, pulling out a Lightning Splattershot from his pocket dimension just to be prepared. "Took you long enough." A voice echoed. The sound of boots on metal came forward, and Three stepped into the light, her shades glistening in an array of colors. "Looking to overthrow Lux, aren't you?" She leaned forward. "We can't have that, now can we?" Matt gritted his teeth. "Enough! I'm done playing by your rules!" Three gave a childlike giggle. "Well, if that's the case." She pulled out a set of synthed dualies, and Matt could see they were, instead of Splat Dualies, they were "Beat Dualies". Three twirled them in her hands, readying herself. "Let's go, traitor."

Three superjumped in the air and to Matt's position before launching a Splashdown that Matt quickly dodged. He fired back, and Three dodge rolled out of the way. Not that it helped, because Matt swiftly changed where he was shooting to where Three was, catching her off guard and breaking her armor. She superjumped to her previous location while Matt regained his focus. She fixed up her armor and superjumped back into the fray, using a Splashdown just like before. When she came down, she used a Curling Bomb Launcher and fired off randomly. It coated the area in a lot of ink, but Matt was nowhere to be seen. During Three's confusion, Matt came up from behind her and broke her armor. Three did the same routine when she escaped previously, but rather than coming back down, a platform floated over the battle arena that Three jumped to. From there, she used a Tenta Missiles to flush Matt out. She locked on and fired while following up with blasts from her Dualies. Matt threw a Suction Bomb next to her, forcing her to jump off. As she looked back, Matt ambushed her, breaking her armor a third time. She superjumped away, and came back with a Baller. She chased Matt around the arena, who ran fast enough to keep some distance. The Baller inksploded, leaving Matt nowhere to be seen. Once again, he ambushed her from behind and broke her armor. With another superjump, she recovered her armor, and started to spam Splashdowns. By her third Splashdown, she was exhausted, leaving her open for Matt to swoop in with another Suction Bomb, and follow up with a stream of shots, breaking Three's armor, and smashing her shades. She was knocked unconscious and her Beatist details were wiped. Her hair color reset to green, and her dualies returned to being regular old Hero Dualies. With that done, Matt could simply walk ahead. She'll be able to find her way to the fort.

One down, two to go. Matt walked forward, ink pumping. He couldn't give up now. He went into the next room, and found himself in front of a turntable. His turntable. He looked forward, and saw a pink one with a Beatist sigil inscribed on the front. His was blue, so it must've been the Synthist sigil that was inscribed on his. A voice echoed across the room, shattering the silence. "You got past Three. Well done. But I wonder how good your mixing is." Matt could see Four step into the light, her blue-and-violet tentacles shimmering. She gestured to her turntable. "Whoever drops the sickest beat wins. If you win, my shades come off. If I win, well," Her voice became murderous. "You surrender to Lux, and stay here." Matt flinched at the thought, but his iron will restores his confidence. "It's a deal." He said, returning his Splattershot to his pocket dimension and stepping up to the turntable. Four stepped behind hers, and smirked. Matt had his classic stoic look, emotionless and unnerving. An automated voice was heard. "Initiating battle sequence in three, two, one. Begin."

Four started up her beat, the music causing beams to appear from her turntable and go straight for Matt. He had a plan, and it involved letting Four finish her beat so Matt can show her up and steal the win. He activated a shield on his turntable to block the beams. More came as her music continued, which the shield continued to block. Matt noticed she was charging up for the beat drop, so with perfect timing, he fused most of his shield into an extra tough section to block against the large beam Four shot at him when her chorus hit. He reverted it back to normal as he kept his guard up. Four laughed at his plan, thinking it was cowardly. "Is that all you're gonna do? Block my attacks without fighting? Pathetic!" Suddenly, her music was abruptly stopped by static. She tried several options on her turntable, but none of them worked. She looked back at Matt, who was wagging his finger in a "no" sort of way. "You got a bit too cocky there, Four. Now I'm gonna have to teach you a lesson." He told her as his music began to build up. He didn't skip a beat, always keeping in rhythm. He wasn't attacking yet, but Four's turntable was disabled, so she couldn't capitalize on it. As the music got more intense, the beats subsided for a moment so Matt could supply vocals. "Assemble the masses, melt the plastic, combine, realign when the shit gets drastic, lift the veil, when the system's unmasked, it's just another pyramid scheme, a government racket!" An evil smile grew on his face the further he went. Something looked like it was charging above Matt's head, and it was growing bigger and bigger. "Devour the power with jaws Jurassic, gnashing T-Rex with covert tactics, rise from the ashes, take back the Atlas..." The charge was completed, and Four saw what was above Matt as the beat dropped. It was an Ultra Stamp. "Bring the madness!" The Ultra Stamp crushed Four as the beat dropped. Matt followed up with plenty of beams from his turntable, along with another smash from the Ultra Stamp every few beats. The music subsided, and Matt's face returned from an evil smile to his stoic, emotionless face. Soon, the area returned to what it was. Matt pushed the button on his turntable that he remembered shrunk it before moving to Four. She was also rendered unconscious, her shades smashed as well. Another one done, and one last Agent to go.
