16: Let the pain out
It's getting dangerous
I might cross the line now

It was already afternoon when my classes were over. It was a hot day but thankfully the breeze hitting my face was cooler. Clutching my books close to my chest I fished out my phone from my jeans pocket when I felt it vibrate.
"Meet me at the entrance," A text said, it was from Minhyuk.
I grimaced when I saw that he had saved his number as "the sexy senior from HRM". Quickly changing it to Minhyuk I scrolled through to see that he had added six more numbers when I gave him my phone upon his request to exchange numbers last night.
My old modeled phone had nine numbers in total now. Along with Haneul's and my mom's with those seven boys.
This was the most amount of contacts I ever had on my phone.
By the time I had already reached the entrance and I did not have to look around to find the blonde standing by a motorcycle. When he frantically waved his hand at me I approached him with quick footsteps.
"I'm not sitting on that," I said quite rashly as my eyes raked the white and black dangerous thing. And I could see several girls and boys from all over the street gawking at us from the corner of my eyes.
Because the lad in front of me was different from what he would show up in the university, normally. He was clad in a black turtleneck, a khaki leather jacket, skinny black jeans, and leather boots.
This was what of him I would see at the clan club but not here. Here, he'd rather be in a woolen sweater or everything cute and soft otherwise.
"Don't be such a party pooper," His lips formed into a little pout. "You'll not be only sitting on that, you'll be riding that."
"Do you even know how to drive-" My sentence was stuck and could not finish itself when Minhyuk put a black helmet on my head which fit almost perfectly.
With a big grin, he put a white one on himself, pulling the black glass down right after hence I could not see his face anymore. "Help yourself with that. Safety first. And put your books in your bag."
By then my heart had started jumping loudly in my chest. Quickly I strapped the belts of the helmet below my chin and shoved all my books inside my already crammed bag. Minhyuk sat on the bike before starting the engine.
When he turned back with the bike sounding like an angry demon, I could feel his eyes expectantly gazing at mine behind that glass. My heart was fighting to beat even loudly against my ribcage as I looked down on the seat behind him.
I quickly propped myself there. It scared me- not the bike.
It scared me how I felt eager. There was a sudden rage of excitement inside me. And it had started ever since I saw the bike.
The starting sound thrummed against my ears, his gloved hands gripping hard on the handles and with a thirst, the bike started forward. My body brushed against his leather jacket and I had my hands tightly clasped on the material around his waist.
Almost not caring if I ripped it apart. And not caring at all what others would say, what they thought of us because at that very moment only the thrill it gave me mattered the most.
The buildings, busy streets, cafes, shopping malls flew by my sides. The orange sky had started to turn into indigo as the coming evening enveloped the Seoul city.
Street lights started to light up one by one, my head felt dizzy, my neatly tied hair now flying and thrashing against my back with every shift of the wind.
Goosebumps rose on my neck when he sped up. I clutched on his jacket even tighter when I saw the tiny hairs on my arms rising up, one by one.
I could not believe I was riding this dangerous thing.
And I could not believe it made me feel so alive.
"How did your classes go today?" He spoke against the wind, for a second I stayed quiet as the words had not really reached me yet.
"Fine. But as you said, professor Shidae really is a Shibal!" I had to raise my voice even higher when I put my head close to his, and I could see his fair neck up from close.
A sweet sound of chuckle came from him, his chest vibrating with that. It was the first time I had someone so close to my body, except my mom. Every body language of his baffled me.
"Is this bike yours?" I spoke-shouted again. He took a sharp turn and I could not just grip on his jacket anymore, but his waist. But I quickly fixed right after.
"This baby is Jooheon's," He shouted back. "And the skinny jeans are Hyungwon's. Don't tell them though."
There was another vibration of his chest, of him laughing silently. "I wanted to feel dangerous today." With that, he stopped abruptly making my body scuff harshly against him.
Looking around I unclasped the helmet, not before I had jumped down the bike itself. "Isn't this Gaphae?" The lone street had only a lightbulb hanging from the fence close to us, illuminating us in a circle. The sky had taken a form of a deeper shade of blue.
"Come on," he said after he himself vanished through a cut hole from the fence wall.
And then he looked back at me, a smile on his face, his gloved hands gesturing me to follow.
This was shady, I did not trust him enough. Perhaps I was making one of the stupidest decisions of my life but it felt like my feet had followed on their own.
Through the fence wall I sauntered quietly to find piles surrounding us. Little mountains here and there.
Mountains of junks.
"Voila!" Minhyuk spread his hands to his sides and quickly turned to me. My nose had scrunched up, I was sure now that he was indeed mentally deficient. And I knew my face gave away my thoughts.
That did not stop him at all. He came closer to me and pulled my hand closer to a small broken down minibus, years of dust and trash decorating it. There was another light bulb there which gave me a perfect view on his excited face.
My questioning look did not alter that one bit.
Making me stand right there he went and picked up a vase from the junks, he put it on the wooden table before us that looked like it was tired sitting there for years.
And then he pulled out a baseball bat from behind the hanging doors of the minibus. As if he remembered he suddenly fished out something from the inner pockets of his jacket.
"These are for you." The blonde shoved them towards me, gloves made of plastic.
When he postured himself before the vase with the bat on his hand, as if it was a league and he was here to play, I could stay quiet anymore. "What the heck are you doing!" The sheer loud tone in my voice even surprised my own self.
He looked back at me, but only for a brief second. "Stay back." And then he turned to the vase. "It's to let off the steam."
Now I could feel what was coming, my heart had started to fight again, this time louder and harder. I felt feverish, sweat started to form in beads across my forehead. My hair on my skin, neck, and head, sticking on the wet surface.
"Fuck professor shibal!" With a loud scream he swung the bat forth, shattering the vase and making the shards of glasses fly everywhere.
To me, it happened very slowly. I could see each particle flying off to different direction. And I could feel my heartbeat slowly going down as the loud ringing sound reached its momentum then died.
"It's your turn now," Minhyuk had sweat pouring down his forehead as he offered the baseball bat to me. A triumphant smile adorning his features.
My heartbeat started rising again, rapidly.
"What makes you think I'll do such a dangerous thing." The question sounded more like a statement but I had already found my hand gripping on the warm metal; warm because his hand had met right there.
"What's fun if It's not dangerous," his voice was low, almost like a whisper but I could hear it clearly.
"I know you want to Daisy. I know you are angry. And you've been keeping it in for a very long time." His voice was even lower now, but closer. "Do it Daisy. Let it out."
As if I was hypnotized I went forward. And through my foggy vision I saw him coming up with a glass bawl and placing it on the wooden surface.
"Do it," he said.
On the designed piece of the translucent glass, I could see my distorted image. I tried to think, what really was the reason, the starting point of my anger.
My vision started to clear as bile rose in my throat, my heartbeat loud and clear to my ear.
The sound on and off, a drop of sweat slowly dropping to my left eyebrow then falling to the ground. Adrenaline rushing to my veins. Goosebumps rising on my raised arm that was holding the bat.
I could feel it all.
"Fuck bad people!" With a shout the bat met the object before me, immediately shattering it into hundreds of little pieces.
The sound must had been really loud but I could not hear anything. Everything went mute, dead silent, only for a very brief second.
"That was amazing!" the first thing I heard was Minhyuk's victorious cheers.
I just did something I never imagined myself to do. I cursed. And I broke something for no reason.
And it felt good.
My breathing was ragged, coming out in huffs. My tshirt almost soaked to my body even though I did not do any exercise. I could feel it was for the anticipation.
"Is this even legal? Why did you bring me here?" I could hardly speak in between my uneasy breaths. Minhyuk was only in his turtlenecks now, his jacket resting on a window of the dusty bus.
"Of course, it's legal. Who's even watching us?" He took the bat from my hand and placed a years old little radio on the table. A lot of its parts were gone. "This is my secret place. But I took the others here before. And now, you."
Why me? I was getting involved.
Dangerously involved with these boys.
There was another loud clanking sound, the radio now broken and smashed to the table.
"Fuck my mom for leaving me!" There was a loud laughing sound following, almost mocking.
"Fuck my dad too," I murmured to myself only loud enough for me to hear. And then I took the bat from him but this time on my own willing.
I was getting involved more, but it was making me feel alive.
