12: The craziest day
No need to be cautious
just be my companion
-Pirate king, Ateez
Wonho laid on the floor with dark red liquid pooling on his sweater. Blood.
My breath hitched as I fell on my knees next to him, my eyes examining in horror how he was still conscious, in fact, his eyes were fully open and I could hear him muttering swear words under his breath.
"You fucker!" Changkyun screamed, Wonho sat uptight and my eyes followed where the black car was passing by with its window rolled down and the glasses guy behind laughing maniacally showing off his middle finger to us as he drove by.
"That shit scared the hell outta me..." Jooheon's voice wavered in the thick air.
"At least we got what we came for and the security camera here definitely picked up his prank," I could hear Changkyun speaking but none of that mattered much as I was still under a trance, trying to process what had just happened here.
My eyes were stuck on the turquoise hair now tainted with bloody red, from the side of his face, to his hair and a big part of sweater colored in blood, his own eyes were transfixed on his chest where it was the reddest, where it hit him.
Then he looked at me. "Are you okay?"
There was a genuine look of concern, cautiousness on his voice and I wondered why. My question was the same but it was for him- if he was okay.
"That douchebag knows no better coming at us with a paintball gun, was he honestly on his right mind!" By the time Jooheon was rambling nonstop Wonho had stood up from the ground and pulled me up as well by the arm.
"You did not have to be so dramatic and fell on the ground, you know?" Changkyun sighed next to us but with a briefcase in his hands, the briefcase the man had left. "Now what do we do with this bloody paint on you?"
"Man I swear Kim Taehyung and his tactics and I swear if I get him next time!" Jooheon grunted as he joined us. He took an observing look at me then Wonho.
"By the way hyung?" The black haired male's eyes never left Wonho's outfit as he spoke. "Wasn't that turtleneck your favorite piece of Dior?"
Changkyun turned to Jooheon and then to me. "And that cost a thousand dollars from what I know."
With that my throat went dry, that psychedelic sweater cost more than my kidneys and Wonho just ruined it trying to save me from some paints.
"Can we just get something to eat first?" A loud sound of grumble came from the very man who had spoken about food, the man with a thousand dollar Dior wasted in bloody red.

When we sat in a nearby restaurant and I had a can of Pepsi to quench my parched throat Changkyun sat beside me with his black leather jacket resting on his lap, his painted nails scrolling through his phone again. I could not help but stare at his nonchalant face, wondering if piercing his eyebrow hurt a lot.
For a person like me, I thought I never truly cared but suddenly with the lack of people in the small restaurant and the other two leaving us be while they went to the restroom I couldn't put my focus anywhere else but the glimmering jewelry resting on his eyebrow.
"Okay, what do you want to ask me?" he put his phone down on the wooden table and faced me instead.
"Nothing," I looked away and sipped on my Pepsi. But I could feel his dead eyes burning on my side profile.
"Why are you back again? I thought you left for good," his deep voice commented.
"I thought I never really left, there was a banter of course, but I didn't." When I looked at him he didn't seem like he was convinced.
Hell, I was not convinced myself. For all I knew I wanted to stop running away, if a situation like this was pushing me to my limits then I was surely not prepared to face the world by myself when all my life I had thought I was mature enough.
I guess I was wrong, I was not any of that if something like these seven boys could bring up a trait I had gotten from someone I wanted to long forget.
"Why did Kihyun send me with you in the first place?" I changed the topic and he shifted a bit on his seat while he took his smartphone again.
"A little field trip, I guess."
Why so? Who was the main boss here? What did they actually do during their night activities? Were they loan shirks? They seemed like they lent that Taehyung guy money and was seeking it from what I could recall.
"I don't feel good, that sudden BOOM really scared me!" Jooheon let his body fall on the seat at the opposite direction. "I thought my soul left my body," he whimpered again with a distasteful look on his face.
Why was I having so many questions in my head? I surely had no interest in them.
"You got scared?" I sipped on the cold drink and he gave me a frivolous nod.
Changkyun shifted and sighed next to me. "He is scared of many things. You'll get to know better."
"As if ninety percent of people aren't scared of either ghosts, or bugs, or both anyway! At least I am not scared of balloons like Wonho," Jooheon shrugged to himself. Wonho joined us with a tray on his hand and sat beside the said male.
The paint was still invisibly visible, while not on his face but on his outfit and the white parts of his hair. It looked like a pink disaster had happened to him as the red had lost its brightness.
His hair dripped and he sighed as he took a look at his tray adorned with a sandwich, a can of Pepsi and a cup of coffee. "Were you talking about me?" He turned to Jooheon.
"Yeah," Jooheon nodded to him. "I was telling Daisy how you were scared of balloons."
The way my name came from him was still very odd and unfamiliar to me, I took another taste of the cold drink. "Is it because of the IT movie?"
"You watched IT?" Changkyun's curious voice made me turn to the side where he was looking at me with his phone nowhere in sight for the first time in ever, probably in his pockets.
"Yeah, it was a famous movie," I shrugged.
"I don't like horror movies that much," Wonho said in a meek voice. "Me neither," Jooheon joined.
"By the way, hyung, your hair looks pink now." With Changkyun's comment I realized that the turquoise head before me almost had turned to a pink head. The color contrast wasn't good, there were parts of silver, parts of blue, parts of red and pink splattered across his head.
"I guess I'll have to dye it again," he said to himself but the other two boys put themselves into it.
"Dye it blonde or orange!" Jooheon said excitedly.
"I think burgundy red or black with midnight blue streaks would look good," the other lad retorted.
"No, lighter hair will look better on him, what if he goes platinum blonde like Minhyuk?" Jooheon argued back and the one next to me wasn't silenced either but I was examining Wonho curiously as he poured some of the carbonated drink from his can to his cup of coffee.
Then he proceeded to drink it, how disgusting would that taste like, I could not even imagine.
"I think pink will suit you too," I said with my voice barely audible to even my own self, while I pictured him in every color the boys were battling to say would look the best on him.
But for some reason, the splattered pink on his head captured my attention every time.
Seemingly he looked up at me as if he had heard my voice.
I concentrated on my own can of carbonated drink.
And then another thought hit me, we were having food in a place with a briefcase filled with possibly ten million won.
If this was not the most bizarre day of my life what was it then?
