Miyagi Prefectural Sugisawa Third High School. Dead at night, with no one around. You and Megumi traversed the school grounds for the cursed object.

"How long have you known Gojo-sensei?" Megumi asked. You didn't quite expect him to make conversation with you.

"Three years," you replied, "Can't remember a day where I wasn't with him. I could be in the middle of something, and he'd barge in and drag me somewhere." You let out a sigh. He's utterly tiring, but I've learned how to handle him. When you came to the back of the property, there was a tall wooden stevenson screen, just standing there.

"They're keeping a cursed object in a place like this?" Megumi asked out loud, "Could they be any dumber?"

"Don't underestimate their incompetence," you replied as the both of you walked up to it. He reached his hand for the lock, but noticed their was none on there. Looks to me someone's already been in it. What are they even looking for anyways? Sukuna's finger. Eh? You mean... Ryoumen Sukuna? What other Sukuna is there? That man infuriates me more than Gojo does. Megumi opened the door, only to reveal an empty inside. He blinked before proceeding to throw himself inside of it, then checking behind and under it, on top of it, and even opening and closing the doors. As if it would just magically appear.

"Megumi-kun, I don't think it's there," you said flatly, placing your hands in your uniform's pockets. He let out a 'tch' and pulled out his phone. You had an idea of who he was calling.

"There's nothing here," you heard him say. You let out a tiny sigh.

'Huh?'

That's exactly how Satoru would react.

"The stevenson screen's empty."

'For real? That's hilarious! Maybe it took a nighttime stroll.'
You ripped the phone from Megumi's hand, much to his disgruntlement.

"Enough with the lolligagging," you said, "Where else could we look for it?"

'Who knows. Well, no going home until it's recovered, okay?' He hung up right after that. You held the phone back out to Megumi. I'm going to kill that bastard some day. You sighed.

"Well, you heard him," you said, "Come on, let's go look elsewhere."

"I'm seriously going to punch him next time."

"I'll pay you to do it."

The next day, you and Megumi decided to check out the school's premises during school time. Disguising yourselves, you and him walked past a closed-off rugby field. You both looked down when you saw a Grade 2 curse swim through the ground. I'm sensing massive amounts of cursed energy, but it's a little harder to pinpoint where the epicenter is. You watched the curse crawl up and onto the top of the goal post, letting out a gargled growl. Sukuna's fingers by themselves hold massive amounts of cursed energy. You and Megumi walked up the steps to the active field, where there were a few students.

"Over here!" The one called, "Coach Takagi is taking on Itadori from West Middle!" You and Megumi stepped over the crossing bar.

"Wow, what are they competing in?"
When you and Megumi got to the crowd of people on the field, they were around two males. One, who you assumed was the coach, and the younger, scrawnier dude, who you assumed was Itadori. Students were whispering amongst themselves, some cheering Itadori on.

"Shot putting?" You murmured. This Itadori has less mass than the coach. I'm sensing a lot of raw power from him. If we're going by pure strength alone, he'd be Grade 2. That strong? Yeah.

Itadori didn't take long to wind up before throwing the lead ball. It flew over heads and landed straight into a soccer goalpost, easily denting it. People began clapping from around you.

"That kid's strong," you commented, "Didn't even use cursed energy."

"Yeah." Megumi began to disperse along with the crowd and you followed him. When you and him got to the exit, Itadori ran past you. When he did, an almost overhwelming presence of cursed energy surged through you. SUKUNA!

"Hey, you!" Megumi called out, sensing it as well. However, Itadori was already out of the school premises.

"He's way too fast!" He exclaimed next to you.

"I heard he can run fifty meters in three seconds," a student walking behind you said.

"Is he a car?"
You let out a sigh. Don't act deflated. You could've caught up to him infinite times over by now.

"Come on, let's follow him," you said, already beginning to walk forward. "I can still sense him."

"Yes," Megumi replied, following close behind you.

~
It was night time by the time you finally caught up to Itadori. He was at the hospital, where his grandfather just passed away. He was at the receptionist's desk, filling out paperwork. You and Megumi turned down the hall and stayed in the shadows, waiting until he noticed you. Sooner than later, he did. His head turned to where you two were standing.

"Itadori Yuuji, correct?" You spoke, though you didn't need to be confirmed whether you were right or not. "I'm Y/n from Jujutsu Tech, and this is Fushiguro. We'd like to have a word with you. Now."

"Oh... sure..." Itadori finished what he had to do, and you two walked him back to a dark, secluded area in the area. "Um... I'm in mourning right now."

"That hardly matters," you dismissed, "The cursed object you possess is dangerous. We need you to give it back. Now."

"Cursed object?" Itadori replied.

"This." Megumi held up his phone which had the picture of the sealed finger. Itadori took a closer look.

"Oh, yeah yeah. I found that," he replied. He leaned to sit against the back of the waiting room couch. "I don't mind either way, but my senpai took a liking to it." Your brow twitched. So someone in the school has it.

"What do you mean 'dangerous?'"

"The number of unexplained deaths and missing persons within Japan exceeds 10,00 a year on average," Megumi began to explain, "Most of those are the result of curses."

"Curses?" Itadori repeated, lying on his side on the couch.

"Whether you believe it or not doesn't matter," you replied, "They're real. I'll go on. Large amounts of negative energy form easily in schools, hospitals, and so on. Negative emotions of humans become the source of curses." The very thing I'm the King of. Weren't you originally a woman? My first incarnate was. I just happened to take on that sex from then on. I don't give a shit what my gender or sex is. All I care about is power and death. Edgy.

"That's why most schools secretely keep a cursed object such as a protective talisman," Megumi went on, "The object you found is one of them."

"If it's protecting us, shouldn't we be grateful for it?" Itadori raised his hand, now sitting completely different from before. He somehow reminds me of Satoru. Tch. Great. Another one.

"Let us finish," you said firmly, "To make a long story short, if you place a cursed object of great evil, it'll keep other curses away. It's not the best practice. Overtime, the seal weakens, and leads to itself being bait and luring in other curses."

"The object you found is a dangerous one, classified as special-grade," Megumi picked up, "Hand it over before people start dying." Itadori hopped over the couch.

"Hey, I already said I don't mind that," he said, digging into his pocket. "So go tell it to my senpai." He threw the box at you and you caught it. You slid open the top only to see it was empty. Oh... so we were following only the trails of it? How annoying. Megumi let out a light gasp from next to you. When Itadori attempted to leave the room, Megumi reached over to grab him by the shoulders.

"Where are the contents?!" He exclaimed.

"I already told you, my senpai... have it..."
You let out a sigh. Children are so troublesome.

"Actually, they were talking about removing the talisman from it tonight at the school," Itadori explained. Megumi slowly backed away from him in shock, bumping into you. "What? Is that bad?"

"It's worse than bad," Megumi replied quietly. You pocketed the box.

"Then let's quit dilly dallying and get a move on," you said, running out of the room. The two boys followed after you.

Ja ne!
