New girl. That's me. As I walked into Brodmore High, or should I say Hell, I noticed a poorly hung up sign that read "Welcome Back!" in bold, green and yellow-the school colours- near the entrance. The cheerleaders stood in front of it, giant, fake smiles plastered on their makeup coated faces.
Me, wearing a Slipknot band shirt, black skinny jeans and about ten bracelets up both my arms, I walked past them, getting disapproving and disgusted looks from the prissy pop princesses. That name fit them perfectly. I looked back at them enjoying their priceless faces. I shot them a giant smile and watched them be taken aback.
First period and I was already hyperventilating. The teacher asked me to come to the front. I slowly inched my way up to the front, drawing everyone's attention to me. Fuck my life.
     "Come on now" the teacher ordered. "Tell everyone your name and somethings about you," she said gently.
     "Um... M-my name is J-Josh Adams. My favourite colour is black. I play electric guitar and the drums a-and my favourite band i-is My Chemical Romance." My head hung with embarrassment. I could feel everyone's eyes on me.
     I quickly scurried to my desk and engulfed myself in my book, Slasher Girls and Monster Boys. I've got a thing for horror books. Though the book eased my nerves, I had a feeling of someone looking at me. I picked up and turned to my left side to see a girl dressed as I was starting at me. I flashed a smile and returned to my book.
     I still felt her eyes on me so I turned to her and said, "Am I that ugly?" a playful smile across my face.
     "N-no," she replied softly, looking away. "You're not ugly." she practically whispered the last part, her bright hazel eyes finally met mine.
     "It's fine." I giggled. "I'm Josh, by the way." I stuck my hand out towards her. I don't know where this confidence came from.
     "Emma," she said shaking my hand, her smile growing. "Nice to meet you."
     We continued in this manner until the bell rang, signalling the end of that period came. "Sit with me at lunch. "she said.
     "Um, sure see you then!" I smiled to myself. School isn't gunna be as bad as I thought.
