Chapter 14: 'Welcome' Home

Duska

One whole week here has made me do more activity then three at the skeleton brothers house. Frisk always wants to go out and play with monsters while Chara likes to keep to herself but sometimes asks me to draw or something with her. They also played a lot of tag with me, more than I wished to ever do in a life time. I have too much of Sans in me...

"Duska! Have you packed!?!"

"Yes Tori! Be there in a sec!"

I grab my two bags and teleport straight to the door. Toriel shakes her head at my laziness as the door is about forty steps from the bedroom but I was just lazy. Adrenaline runs through me at the thought of seeing Sans and Papyrus again, but i'm also anxious. Toriel told me that I should probably tell those two about what happened back then, that they deserve to know. I know that they do but i'm just scared.

"Are you sure you don't want to walk with me? That taking a shortcut won't tire you out?"

"I'll be fine Tori, i've practised enough to not get tired travelling long distances."

I drop my bags and pull her into a hug, my face gets pushed into her fluffy ear which is incredibly comfortable. I had said goodbye to Asgore, Frisk, Chara and Flowey this morning as Asgore promised to take them to Alphys as he talked buisness with her. If it actually was buisness or just anime talk is anyone's guess.

"Be safe my child."

"I will."

We let go of each other and I pick up my bags again, shooting Toriel a smile before walking down the path. I begin thinking of the cold snow, colorful lights and the faint smell of Grillbyz that sometimes drifts off down to the house. A second later white is all I see, I blink a few times to get used to the brightness. As the snow covered house enters my sight I sprint to it, using my shoulder to throw open the unlocked door. I carefully place my bags down beside the couch but then feel something uneasy.

"Uh... Sans!?! Papyrus!?!"

I wait a few seconds but the uneasy quiet has now just straight up terrifying. I run towards the stairs and run up them, hearing them echo beneath me with each scared step.

"PAPYRUS! SANS!"

I knock on Papyrus' door and wait, I hear something but i'm not sure what. I slowly open it and look towards the red car bed, a large lump is beneath the blanket telling me that he's there, but my yelling should have woken him. I walk over to the side and remove the blanket from his head, I gasp as his skull is sweating profusly and he's coughing weakly. I place my hand onto his forehead to feel that it's incredibly warm but his legs are shaking wildly.

"Papyrus... your sick..."

His eye sockets open which seems to calm his shaking down as he reaches his hand for my own, I grab it tightly as I pat his head softly.

"DUS... MY R-RIBS HURT..."

His usual loud, bustling voice is replaced something quiet and weak, I feel my heart wring with pain. I pull the blanket back up around him and tuck him in comfortably.

"WHERE'S... SANS..."

"I'll go find him Paps. Don't worry, I always do."

He slightly nods as he releases my hand, coughing into his mitten again. Knowing about human sickness I guess coughing into the same hand he lays on isn't a good idea. I grab the tissues from his computer desk and place them beside him.

"Paps, I need your gloves. Coughing into them may not help your sickness."

Instead of saying anything he places his hands in front of his face as a sign for yes. I slide them off his skeleton fingers and take a quick second to look at his hands, i've never seen his actual fingers before. Picking up the gloves I walk out and throw them into the hallway washing basket where I hear a strange muffled nosie from Sans' room. I enter his room slowly but instead of seeing a lump of blanket I see Sans sprawled out on his bare mattress with only a white t-shirt and his usual black shorts on.

"Sans!"

I quickly run beside him and check his forehead too, it's as hot as Papyrus'. I come home two sick skeletons... not what I was expecting at all.

"k-kid..?"

Sans' eye sockets are partially open with his faded white glims looking at me. I give him a smile as I grab the blanket from the end of the bed and begin folding it.

"what... a-are... y-you doing?"

"I'm going to move you to Paps room. I'd rather have both of my sick skeletons in the one room."

"p-paps is... sick?"

I nod and place the folded blanket onto his desk. I'm going to have to bring that spare mattress from the garage into Paps' room.

"I'll be back in a minute Sans."

He nods as I teleport into the garage, unlocking it from the inside. I quickly spot the mattress and put it onto it's side, pushing it out the door. I kick it shut with my foot and continue pushing but it's harder to push in two inches of snow. But I finally get it into the loungeroom where I take a quick break, now it has to go up the stairs. Somehow it gets itself up there in less than half the time to push it through the snow but I don't argue, i've already taken too much time. I quickly push it into Paps room and place it down with him giving me a confused look.

"Sans is going to sleep in here too. It seems that the two of you have gotten something while I was away."

He stays quiet other than coughing into a tissue covered hand, i'm going to have to buy more later. I set the bed up for Sans then enter his room to see that he's in a coughing fit. I run over to him to sit him up and to try and calm him down by patting his back, it eventually works. He falls backwards into my arms, his breathing seems ragged and heavy. I gently pick him up with his head against my collarbone and walk him into Papyrus' room, placing him onto the mattress. I once again teleport downstairs and grab two wash cloths from the cupboard. Since the sink in the kitchen is too high for me to reach I teleport to my bathroom and use its sink instead. I'm teleporting more than I should be but i'd rather get those two stable first. I place the wet wash cloths onto both of the skeletons foreheads and watch as they both fall asleep almost simultanously. I smile at their peacefulness and lean up against the wall opposite to them, the mass amount of teleporting has tired me out.

"Just... a quick nap..."

My head droops slowly as my mind goes black, with my last thought one of waking up to two piles of dust in front of me.
