Quackity kicked a pebble that had made its way onto the prime path. The gamblers hands were shoved into his pockets and his eyes were glued to the floor. As he walked, the ravenette mumbled angrily to himself.
"I can't believe it... all of this work to build our fucking country, just to find they were planning on building one without me... some fiancees they are..."
Quackity kicked the pebble across the path until it fell off and into the river below. He sighed and kept walking, the conversation replaying itself in his head. The scarred gambler clenched his fists as he shook his head, trying to forget all of it. Only one sentence rang in his head. His ex fiancé, Karl's voice, "What history?!"
Quackity bit his lip to avert the urge to cry. He had been through so much and thought that this would be the relationship that worked. First Schlatt, then Wilbur. His trust in love was running dry when he got with Karl and Sapnap. He thought they would be different. No. They were just like the others. Leaving him, just because they had no use for him anymore. He was an accessory in the relationship. Something of value to show off for a while and then throw away.
Quackity's vision was foggy from the tears that sat in his eyes, threatening to fall down his face. Every blink showed greater risk of crying. Quackity reached his hands up and gripped his hair. His fingers knotted in the silky smoothened locks as his beanie fell to the floor. Quackity followed with it. He stumbled onto his knees and sobbed on the floor. It was as if his sanity was on a glass bridge, and the glass had shattered.
Quackity pounded his hands into the wooden path, splintering the wood beneath him. He raised bloody fists and ripped at his hair, curling up in muffled sobs upon the path.

A tall figure strolled along the path, his ears flicking curiously as he heard a familiar voice crying. He tilted his head in concern as he lifted his ram-like ears to figure out the direction to go. He closed in on a location and began to walk towards the unknown voice. His pace picked up as he heard it get closer, recognizing the voice almost immediately.
"Pumpkin?"

Quackity was shaken out of his panic as he felt a large yet gentle hand tap on his shoulder. He peered over his shoulder and his eyes widened as they met the other's.
Jschlatt.
Quackity's lip quivered and he bit it as he sat up, refusing to make eye contact with the man. Schlatt's ears pricked as he noticed the beanie on the ground, kneeling over, picking it up, and offering it to Quackity. The short ravenette peered up at Schlatt slowly, noticing the other's awkward smile. He seemed like he was trying his best to smile but didn't know how to. Quackity couldn't help but smirk back, taking the beanie and fiddling with it in his hand. Schlatt reached out a hand to fix the other's ruffled up hair so Quackity could put it back on, but Quackity slapped his hand and leaned away from Schlatt a bit. "I can do it myself idiot-"
Schlatt chuckled and retracted his hand. "You're feisty as ever huh?" Quackity sniffled and nodded, forcing a smile as to not worry Schlatt. Though this was Schlatt's main plan anyways. He wanted to cheer up Quackity as much as possible.
Schlatt got out of his crouched position, now sitting on the floor with his legs crossed. He placed a hand on Quackity's shoulder supportively. "You okay now Pumpkin?" Quackity frowned lightly, not liking the nostalgia from that nickname. He had to remember this was still his ex, but was getting difficult. Schlatt seemed like he changed, but what if deep down the man would go back to his old ways? Alcoholism, manipulation, abuse. Quackity felt his hands start shaking again as he glanced up at the other, getting another supportive smile. Quackity felt tears form in his eyes again before he finally snapped, throwing himself into Schlatt's arms. "They- they left me Schlatt!! All for that- that stupid mushroom kingdom!"
Schlatt was hurt by the sight, Quackity quivering in his arms as he vented the whole story to the other. Schlatt only smiled and sat there silently while he listened, rubbing a hand against Quackity's back to comfort the sobbing ravenette. He held the other close, adjusting Quackity's position so that he was cradling the other comfortably.
Quackity spoke until his breathing came in hiccups, and he was unable to speak anymore. He heard Schlatt shush him as Quackity held on close to him, calming down in his ex's arms almost instantly.
Schlatt took the beanie off of Quackity's head again, receiving an angry mumble of disapproval from the other. Schlatt chuckled and began to run his fingers through Quackity's hair, still shushing the other. He resumed this until he heard Quackity's breathing slow back to a normal rate. The ram looked down, pleased to see that the other had fallen asleep on top of him. He gently picked Quackity up bridal style as to not disturb him, gave him a kiss on the forehead, and started to make his way back to Las Nevadas.
