"Seokjin! Seokjin, hurry, sweetheart, the driver will leave without us!"

"Coming, Mother!"

I hurriedly dusted a faint blush over my cheekbones, tripping over my vanity stool to stand up. I, Kim Seokjin, the prettiest prince to walk the earth, have been accepted into Bangtan University, one of the highest education institutions. Not only am I beautiful, but I've got a heart of gold and an intelligent mind. Not to mention, I'm very humble and gracious.

Chin up, I descended the stairs of my family's mansion, one hand gliding along the golden railing while the other clutched the handle of my sugar glider's cage. The heels of my pink Lolita shoes clacked on the glass stairs beneath me as I arrived at the bottom.

"Are all my bags here?" I asked the butler, who stood formally with his right arm across his stomach.

"Yes, Master Seokjin. All fourteen of them."

"Perfect!" I purred, cupping the butler's jaw with my free hand. "You're such a doll. Now please, make sure RJ gets to the car safely. I must alert Jimin and Hoseok that I'll be arriving shortly." I handed him the cage containing the sugar glider.

"No need, Master Seokjin. I already arranged for them to come with us."

"Oh, you sweet man!" I squealed as my two best friends appeared in the front door, prancing over to hug them both. We all giggled and hugged tightly, even though they were here every day of the week, it felt like I hadn't seen them in ages.

"We really have to get going, Seokjinnie!" Mother called again, already standing by the car as the chauffeur loaded my bags into the trunk of our Mercedes. Today was the big day.

The butler stepped back to allow me a clear path to the car. My heels clicked on the marble floor as I strutted toward the door, the sunlight catching on the pink rhinestones of my blazer.

I had dreamed of this moment for months; the moment I, Kim Seokjin, would grace Bangtan University with my presence. It wasn't just about the prestige or the promise of greatness. No, this was my chance to dazzle an entirely new crowd. New faces to adore me, new admirers to fall at my feet. The world was simply not ready.

"Hoseok! Jimin! Let's move!" I called as I climbed into the car. "My audience awaits."

The ride to Bangtan was a long one, but that was alright because I could gossip with my friends.

I met Jimin and Hoseok in grade 9, we all worked very hard to get into Bangtan University as it accepted only the most prestigious and intelligent students. It took a lot of hard work, I know some humans are just jealous and they think we bought our way in, but I won't say anything about them. I'm a good soul, after all, I would never make fun of anyone less fortunate than I.

The three of us gossiped quite a bit about the new school, we were in the backseats, so we didn't have to worry about being overheard.

"I wonder if there will be any cute guys," Jimin gushed, clutching the seatbelt as a result of his enthusiasm.

Hoseok snorted. "Of course that's all you're thinking about. You have a new boyfriend every week." He huffed. Jimin gasped in offense, his angelically blue eyes flashing. I never did understand the banter between those two, whether it was friendly or not, but I didn't really pay attention to that. They mostly just followed me around like lost puppies, but I loved them anyway.

We arrived at Bangtan University eventually. The campus was huge, but the school was the most magical part. Surrounded by a thin stream of water, the magnificent building looked like a castle, with trees and greenery crawling up the sides. The front doors were open, revealing the interior with an open roof letting fresh sunlight in. There were cherry blossom trees both in and out of the school, high glass windows and lots of stone with an open roof, it was beautiful. Like me.

I rushed out of the car while the chauffeur grabbed my bags from the trunk, hurrying along the path. "Come on!" I called out to Hoseok and Jimin, leaving them to catch up.

The campus really was beautiful. There were already plenty of students gathered in the middle under the roof opening, lots of heads turned to stare. Nothing I wasn't used to, I'm beautiful, after all. Plus, I stood out with my pink uniform while everyone else had navy blue, and I loved to stand out.

I waited with Hoseok and Jimin by one of the water fountains, facing it. On top was a statue of Cupid and his arrow, spewing water from his lips down onto the stony fountain with many coins at the bottom from generations and generations of coin-throwers. The water sparkled in the sunlight; the whole thing added such a delicate charm to the university, though it didn't seem too significant, I thought it was lovely.

I decided to go socialize, why shouldn't I bless everyone with my beauty? I walked to the grand staircase where everyone else was, it already felt like home with the way people welcomed me and kissed my knuckles, I love being pretty.

It was a good time for a while, I got to say goodbye to Mother and Father and my bags were taken up to my room. My room, yes, my private suite, haha! I wouldn't have to share a room with anyone, thank you, parents!

The courtyard had been alive with chatter and laughter until, suddenly, it wasn't. A hush fell over the crowd, like the calm before a storm. Students stepped back instinctively, their eyes fixed on something, or someone, moving through the mass of bodies.

I turned slowly, curious about what could possibly be more captivating than me.

There he was. Towering above most of the students, this mysterious figure radiated a different kind of energy. His hood was pulled low, casting a shadow over his face, but I caught the sharp glint of his eyes beneath it. His presence wasn't flashy like mine, but it demanded attention nonetheless. He carried himself with a kind of quiet authority, like he knew he didn't need anyone's approval. I looked closer, just to see that the man was wearing...

"Black!" I swooned, my eyes fluttering shut. Oh, what an awful color, it's just awful! So life-sucking! Gasps rang around the courtyard as Hoseok and Jimin rushed forwards to catch me by the shoulders, keeping my eyes shut. I peeked through one eyelid to make sure everyone was still paying attention to me before quickly closing them again. Everyone was.

"Yep, black." The man grunted, emitting more gasps from the crowd. His voice, so deep and scary! But of course, I'm a nice human being with a beautiful face and even more beautiful heart, so I stood back up, brushing my shoulders off.

I stepped closer. As did he.

I raised my eyebrows. He did as well.

I huffed and stamped my foot. He didn't do that.

"There's no need to whine about a color."

More gasps from the crowd. I couldn't really see his face, his hood was up, but he was tall and quite built. I got a peek of tanned skin and a strongly curved nose as I bent over to the side, trying to see his face, keeping my distance. Just in case.

Deciding that being sweet outweighed being rude, I welcomed the newcomer. "Welcome to Bangtan University! It's like a fairytale, or perhaps a Disney castle, isn't it? I'm Kim Seokjin, I'm the type of person who'll make this place feel like home."

The man in black didn't seem impressed. It must've been the nerves again, I impress everyone! He stood a few feet away, towering over most of the crowd surrounding us, his hood casting a shadow over his face. "Namjoon." He said simply, his voice deep and unbothered.

I waited for more. Perhaps a compliment, or at least some gratitude for my warm welcome. Nothing. I tilted my head, determined to be as gracious as ever. "Namjoon," I repeated. "What a strong name! It suits you. You must be... very strong." I snorted, glancing at Jimin and Hoseok, who were giggling off to the side.

"Physically or mentally?" he asked flatly, one eyebrow raising. I blinked, momentarily thrown off. This man was blunt.

"Well, um, both! Of course, both! After all, only the best of the best make it into Bangtan University."

"True," he said, his tone unreadable. "But some of us got in through brains, not... appearances."

Gasps rippled through the courtyard. My jaw dropped slightly, but I recovered quickly with a soft laugh. How dare he?! "Oh, how witty!" I giggled, brushing imaginary dust off my pristine pink blazer. "A sense of humor! How delightful."

Namjoon didn't smile. If anything, his expression grew even more bored. "Not humor. Just facts."

"Facts!" I echoed, still smiling through clenched teeth, cocking my head slightly. "Well, here's a fact for you, Namjoon; kindness and good manners are what truly make a person shine. Wouldn't you agree?"

He shrugged. "If that's your way of shining, I guess it works for you."

The crowd tittered nervously. As much as I love attention, I didn't like it... this way, being disrespected! I wouldn't take it. Jimin tugged on my sleeve, whispering, "Seokjin, let's go. He's not worth it."

But I couldn't let this Namjoon person get the last word. Not on my first day. I leaned in slightly, lowering my voice to a gentle tone. "You know, Namjoon," I said sweetly, "sometimes people act tough because they're afraid of being seen for who they really are. But don't worry. I'll be your friend." I extended my hand.

Namjoon's eyes finally met mine. For a moment, I thought I'd struck a chord. But then his lips twitched into a faint smirk, looking down at my hand. "Thanks for the offer, Princess, but I don't need a fan club." He looked back into my eyes.

"Fan club?" I repeated, using a dreamy tone to hide my anger, though I could feel my face flushing. "Oh, no, no, no. This isn't about me. This is about helping you. You see, kindness is my gift to the world."

"Generous of you," he said, already turning to walk away. "But I'm good without it."

I stood there, stunned, as he disappeared into the crowd. I slowly lowered my hand. Who was this man anyway?! Too bad my parents already left, if Father had seen, this Namjoon person would've known better than to mess with me. Jimin and Hoseok rushed to my side, both wide-eyed.

"Seokjin, are you okay?" Hoseok asked.

I straightened my blazer, refusing to let this get to me. "Of course! He's just... shy. He'll come around. They all do. You know nobody can resist this pretty face."

My usual sweet smile returned to my face as I turned around graciously, blinking my long lashes. "Come, come, now," I urged my friends. "Let's go see the rooms, shall we?" A princess is never discouraged by the sheer lack of respect from others. Especially not me.

Soooo? 👀

This is kind of a different vibe and writing style than I'm used to, it's much more dramatic and cliche, like how everyone freaked out about the color black. Hopefully it goes well!
