Gossamersilverglow:
Three things you love besides writing/reading?
1) Swimming
2) Listening to music
3) Horror movies
Three things you hate?
1) People who cheat in relationships. "But they're extenuating circumstances..." no. Not really. There's no excuse. You're a douche bag, own it.
2) Passive aggressive people - if you have beef with me, don't dance around the topic. I'm not a mind reader. Tell me! This especially applies to people in charge of something (i.e. a manager, team leads, etc). This includes people who are unnecessarily rude because they think they're better than you.
3) Twilight comparisons when the story is nothing like Twilight - just because it has a vampire and a werewolf doesn't automatically mean it's a Twi-rip-off.
Why do you write?
It's the only therapy I can afford. I have vivid nightmares/dreams. Writing is an outlet for me.
Never ending college because I don't know what I want to do outside of writing will do that to an individual. I'm a realist and because of that I have never pursued any writing or English classes - I migrated more towards the medical field - so if you read my stuff and wonder why it's not super polished that's why.
I also write because I read. Originally, I was a more serious reader than writer. Started writing originals in 2008. It was around 2010 that I decided I really wanted to try and get published though. It's a long way off, so until then, I write because I need to.
Out of all your stories, which one is your favorite?
I have the most fun writing the mystery of Buried, the humor in Macabre, and the sex in V for Virgin, but I'd say my favorite is my very first original story Unnatural followed by my newer one Foxed. Both remain incomplete.
How do you create your characters?
With a sense of humor. Usually sarcastic. I base my characters off of qualities either I have (all of my characters have a little bit of my personality in them), people in my life have, or qualities I wish I possessed.
Out of your characters, which one are you the most like?
Bailey (Buried), but Annabelle (Macabre) has my sense of humor and interests. Which character would I most like to be like? Now that's an interview question I may add - Kender (Foxed) would be my answer to that one.
What do you do when you have writer's block?
I'll read, edit, drink, or just ignore it.
How do you plan out your stories?
I don't usually. Dream it, write it, post it - in that order. I've never posted a first chapter that has been edited in anyway, proof read by myself, but never edited. That stuff comes after. Stories that are the exceptions: Buried and Time Loop. While all my stories were based on dreams (for the most part), those two happened to be the product of a more vivid and complete dream. Buried (up until chapter 15 at least) and Time Loop were outlined.
What are your writing weaknesses?
I suffer from 'can't-finish-anything' syndrome. I don't update often and that leads to continuity problems and plot holes in the stories. Lots of time ends up passing and as time passes your (well, my) view on things change. Sometimes becoming more mature, other times going backwards.
Adverbs. Been working on it.
Comma splices. Something so easy has never been more complicated. I don't understand why I can't get this. The concept is not hard to follow... anyway, I'm working on this as well.
My imagination. Sometimes it's too far out there and other times I have too many ideas coming at me all at once. This is also a reason I have so many different, unfinished, stories up.
What are you writing strengths?
Dialogue. Many times I've been told my dialogue scenes are spot on, crafty, and practically flawless. I don't know about flawless, but I do go for natural. If I wouldn't say it, my characters wouldn't say it.
Sex scenes. I have people come to me with requests because I write sex scenes so well - or so I've been told. I just write what I like and I'm not afraid to use the improper terminologies to do it. Although there was a time I was trapped in the 'romantic novel' sex scenes - you know (manhood for example). Not anymore. I figured out fairly early on that even when I'm writing it it sounds ridiculous.
Characterization is starting to become a strength as well. For the most part, I know my characters and how they would react to a situation. Hopefully, this'll become a better strength!
My imagination. I have loads of ideas.
What genre do you read?
Erotica, Romance, Teen, Chicklit, New Adult, Young Adult, Paranormal (including Vampire and Werewolves), some Sci-Fi and Fantasy - but not the hardcore heavy detailed ones, Horror.
What genre do you write?
New Adult, Erotica, Romance, Young Adult, Paranormal/Supernatural, Sci-Fi, and Fantasy. I've also tried my hand at Horror and Mystery/Thriller.
