"The names Harry." The taller lad says and Louis nods.

"'M Louis." He whispers shyly.

"You new?" Harry asks, "I know almost everyone in this school, have known them for the past three years, and I'd remember those amazing blue eyes."

Louis can't help but blush. He hasn't been complimented in...who knows how long.

He saw Jace snickering.

"You know he's just being nice." He says and Louis sighs.

A few moments pass in silence.

"So do you know where your classes are? Do you need help finding them?" Harry asks and Louis looks at his schedule. The lady at the office explained where his first class was but to be honest he was a bit lost.

"Um...I don't know where Mr. Richards class is." Louis says handing Harry the slip of paper.

"Oh! Mr. Richards! I have him too! Come on I'll walk you!" Harry says a bit over excitedly.

Harry takes off, and Louis has to basically run to keep up, Harry's legs seemed to go on for miles.

They walked through the halls, that were filled with teenagers rushing to their class before the tardy bell rang in two minutes.

Harry was talking about something, how he loved meeting new people and how happy this was the last year of school, and it took Louis a couple seconds to figure out he was being asked a question.

"Hmm?" He asks embarrassed.

"What school did you go to before you came here?" He asks and Louis stops walking. Harry turned to look at him.

"I, um...I..." He didn't know what to say.

"You don't have to tell me. Everyone has there own little secrets. Don't worry about it." He says with a smile, "Now come on. We don't wanna be late on our first day."

Louis nods and follows him through the corridors before they reach a door with students piling inside.

Louis instantly felt nervous. He hasn't been in a real classroom for three years.

"Don't chicken out now. Or on second thought, yeah chicken out so you can go back to that hospital. It's where you belong. You're not normal. You're a freak." Louis stood at the door, tears brimming at his eyes. He is a freak. He can't change who he is.

He might as well admit himself back into that hospital himself.

Harry noticed his uncertainty. He rested a hand on his shoulder.

"Hey its fine. Don't worry, you can sit next to me if you want." He assures him, and yeah, that makes him feel a bit better. He nods and leads the way inside.

Thankfully, Harry chooses two empty seats in the back of the room. Teenagers were laughing and greeting each other. Jace leaned against the wall behind Louis, glancing at everyone with a sort of boredom. The late bell rang and everyone sat down. Louis looked around and counted.

"Thirty-eight." He says aloud.

"What?" Harry asks, looking at him.

"Thirty-eight people in this room, including the teacher." He says nodding towards the balding man in the front, writing his name on a whiteboard.

Harry looked around for a second.

"I only counted thirty-seven." He says. Louis shakes his head but doesn't reply.

Thirty-eight.

"Hello class, welcome to your senior year of high school." Mr. Richards says and the class cheers, "Okay, okay settle down. My name is Mr. Richards and I want to welcome you to your last English class of high school, hopefully."

He drones on about what they'll be learning and what to expect, and of course Louis dozes off staring at the lines on his desk.

The bell rings and Louis almost falls out of his seat. He looks around, people bustling out of room to get to the next class.

Harry was looking down at him.

"What's your next class?" He asks and Louis glances at his schedule.

"Math. Mrs. Simmons." He says picking up his backpack.

"Oh, I'll walk you. I have PE." Harry says.

"Why are you helping me?" Louis asks suddenly.

"I find great satisfaction in helping people." He replies without missing a beat. Louis smiled widely following him to the next class.

****

Lunch rolled around and Louis has been to four out of six of his classes already and he was starting to remember how much he didn't like school.

On the bright side, Harry was also in his fourth period so he had something to look forward to.

The two boys were walking out of class, heading to lunch when Louis' phone vibrated.

He pulled it out, seeing a new text from his mum.

Remember to take your meds xx

Louis replies a quick okay before putting his phone back, heading towards the direction of the office.

"Where are ya going? The cafeteria is that way." Harry says pointing behind him.

"I gotta get something. I'll meet you..." He says getting distracted by a a trophy case by the office. They were so shiny.

"You'll meet me there?" Harry asks and Louis nods.

Harry looks at him for a second before turning around and heading back to where they came from. Jace was striding next Louis a smile on his face.

"What?" Louis finally asks.

"Oh, nothing. Just the fact that that boy over there will never like you." He states blunty.

"What does that have to do with anything?" Louis asks turning the corner and heading for the office.

"You like him."

Louis starts.

"No I don't." He says turning to Jace. Jace crosses his arms and raises his eyebrows.

"Of course you do. Its a little high school crush. How cute. Sad to say the feelings won't be returned. 'Cause you're a fucking freak."

Louis tries to block him out, he really does. But how can you block out someone that exists in your head?

He reaches the office and opens the door to find the same lady he saw this morning. She smiles at him when she sees him.

"How's your first day going so far?" She asks reaching under her desk to grab his meds.

"Good. Thanks for asking." He replies taking his meds with a cup of water. He heads into one of the bathrooms, thankfully empty. He unscrews one of the bottles, taking out a pill and swallowing it with some water.

He repeats it with three other pills.

"What are those for?" Someone asks and Louis nearly chokes. He turns around to find a blonde bloke.

"Um...I..."

"You're not gonna stab me 'cause I found you doing drugs in the school bathroom are ya? 'Cause that would be a bit sad." The blonde says, a shy smile pulling on his lips.

"W-What? N-No...I'm not doing...drugs...they're my meds...um p-please don't tell anyone." Louis begs taking the rest of his required medicine before stuffing them back in the plastic pouch.

"Ah, I'm just joking mate. Don't worry about it. What's your name?"

"L-Louis."

"What's up Louis, the names Niall."
