20. Unspoken Heartache
Mood: Patient Love (acoustic) by Passenger
Once the movie had finished, Louis had fallen asleep on Harry's shoulder. He woke him up, shaking his small shoulders lightly.
"Babe, time to wake up. The movies over. You missed almost all of it." Harry chuckles. Louis' eyes flutter open and he smiles at Harry softly. Niall and Liam had left already, telling the two lads that they'll be waiting outside to bid their goodbyes.
Louis nodded, standing up and following Harry out of the theatre. They made their way quietly down the corridor. Louis spotted the bathroom and stopped dead in his tracks. His stomach churned with the familiar feeling of wanting to vomit.
Harry followed his glance to the bathroom and his grip on Louis' arm tightens.
"You don't have to..." Harry whispers softly, moving his arm away from the smaller boy. Louis' throat dries and he's caught between two things. Harry would easily let him go into the bathroom but it would disappoint him to an extant that Louis doesn't want to reach. On the other hand, he'll disappoint Jace if he doesn't do this.
His mind is reeling, thinking through the pros and cons of the two options before he finally turns to Harry, gripping onto his arm roughly, his blunt nails digging into the skin.
"Get me out of here, please." He squeaks, his voice was quiet, almost audible. But Harry heard it. The taller lad grabs his dainty hand, pulling him out of the cinema and into the cool air.
Niall and Liam were waiting outside. They waved at them, before glancing at their intertwined hands.
"Um, Lou and I are heading back. Tonight was great. Thanks for inviting us." Harry says with a smile.
"Yeah! No problem. Whenever you guys wanna hang out again just ask." Niall says, his smile wide.
Harry nods and drags Louis back to his car. Once inside the comfort of the leather seats and warm heater, Louis let out a small hiccup.
"What's wrong love?" Harry asks, leaning over to rest his hand on the small boys thigh.
Louis shakes his head. Harry sighs. He didn't want to leave him alone at him home. He knew his parents would be there but he knew they didn't know he was purging in the bathroom. He makes a haste decision.
"Lou, babe, do you want to stay the night at my house?"
Louis looked at him from the corner of his eye.
"If that's okay with you." He whispers and Harry soothes his thumb over his thigh.
"It's more than fine." With that, he starts the car making his way to Louis' house to get a spare change of clothes.

Harry pulled up to Louis' home. His mother was sitting on the porch, reading a book.
She looked up when she spotted the red car pull into the driveway. Once they were parked, Louis got out of the car, making his way up the stairs to the front door.
"How'd it go?" She asks. Louis doesn't answer. He walks past her, trudging into the house. She sighs and looks back at Harry, who was standing by her.
"It went fine, Mrs. Tomlinson. Um, I was wondering if it'd be fine for Lou to stay the night at my place? He's in need of a friend." Harry explains, biting his lip.
"Oh--I guess it'd be alright. Tomorrows Sunday dinner so please make sure he's back here before six." She says and Harry nods.
Louis comes down moments later, a duffel bag in his hand.
"So Harry said you're staying the night? That's exciting. Um, do you have your medication?" Louis only nods, situating himself back into Harry's car. Jayy sighs, covering her face with her hands. Harry's torn. He doesn't know if he should reach over and comfort her.
"It'll be okay Mrs. Tomlinson." He finally says before jogging back to his car and pulling out.
Louis is quiet the whole ride back to Harry's. The taller lad didn't know what to do.
"So what do you want to do when we get over there? We can watch another movie? Or we can finally start that project for English. My dads gone for the night. He has another business trip of some sort." Harry offers, smiling slightly. Louis only nods.
"Hey, what's wrong?" He asks finally.
"I'll tell you when we get to your place." Louis whispers, balling his fists lightly.
"Lou...don't shut me out. Please don't." Harry mumbles, his knuckles turning white from how hard he was holding the steering wheel.
"I'm not. I told you already. When we get...to your place." Harry sighs but continues to drive, trying to ignore the way Louis' body shivered slightly. He turned on the heater in fear of him being cold.
The hot air warmed up the two boys instantly, softening Harry's hands and made him un-tighten his grip on the steering wheel.
The roads were as quiet as Louis but Harry didn't dare to turn on the radio. He just drove, listening to Louis' breathing.
Louis surprised him when he leaned over and placed his hand on Harry's shoulder.
"Thank you for...caring." He whispers softly, his voice barely audible.
"I can't stop myself even if I tried." Harry replies, a small smile playing on his lips. He could stay here forever, honest. He'd be content driving across different countries with Louis to stop at small gas stations for plastic wrapped chips and sweet drinks.
If he was be honest, he'd be happy being wherever Louis was.
Harry drove the last block to his house, trying to ignore the electricity coursing through his veins where Louis' hand rested.
He pulled up to his house, smiling at Louis as he parked his car and got out. He carried Louis' bag up the steps to his house, the small boy trailing inches behind him.
Harry pulled out his keys, about to unlock the door when he noticed it was slightly ajar. He only hesitated a moment before telling Louis to waiting outside for him. Of course he didn't listen.
The two boys walked inside, darkness enveloping them. The lights flickered on and a silhouette sat in on of the living room couches, staring at them with angry eyes.
Nick.
