Louis wiped heaved into the toilet. His stomach was empty. He had nothing left to throw up. Jace was smiling down at him, clapping his hands giddily.
"I guess that will do for today." He says with a sigh. Louis coughed quietly, his hands trembling as he stood up. He looked at himself in the mirror. He was paler than usual, his skin pasty. His hair stuck to his sweaty forehead. His eyes were no longer the blue he was accustomed to. They were now a very dim blue, almost grey.
"I don't think I can go out today." Louis whispered, grabbing his toothbrush.
"Why not?" Jace asks, standing up from the counter.
"They'll notice something is up. I haven't really eaten for...two days? They'll notice." Louis mumbles, brushing his teeth quickly. He spit out the toothpaste and used some mouthwash. Harry was due to be here in a few minutes. His family was downstairs, watching a movie. They didn't know Louis has been coming up here, throwing up the small amount of food he had managed to keep down.
He couldn't say it didn't feel good. It made him feel good. He liked to look at himself in the mirror and see how skinny he was getting. He always hated how he looked; Jace was the encourager in this mess. He made his way to his bedroom, grabbing a pair of black skinnies and a grey jumper. He quickly dressed himself, brushing his hair, and trudged downstairs to wait for Harry.
His family turned to eye him cautiously. He kept his head down and sat on the couch, pulling out his phone.
Louis: Are you almost here?
Harry answered a few minutes later.
Harry: On my way xx
Louis smiled to himself slightly, pocketing his phone and grabbing his Vans and slipping them on.
"Where are you going?" Jayy asks.
"Out with Harry and some friends. Gonna go see a movie." Louis mumbles, shifting in his seat.
"Can I meet these friends?"
"No. We're meeting up with them...at the movies." A few minutes pass in silence before Jayy pulls out a 10 note. Louis takes it grudgingly, pocketing it. The bell rang.
"Have fun..." Jayy sighs, turning her attention back to the movie. Louis didn't answer, opening the door. He was met with bright green eyes and a wide smile. He wore ripped black skinny jeans, a white tank top and an American flag bandana wrapped around his head. Harry's smile faded slightly.
"Are you okay? You look sick." Harry asks, moving a hand to his forehead.
"I'm fine. Just tired." Louis shrugged as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. Harry stares at him for a second. He was about to protest before Louis shut the door behind him and made his way to Harry's Camry. Harry sighed, opening the door for Louis and closed it behind him. He ran around the car, setting himself in the driver's side.
He started the car, driving quietly.
"Are you going to tell me what's wrong?" Harry asks suddenly.
"No."
"Why?"
"You'll worry. I don't want you to worry. C-Can we talk about something else?" Harry sighs.
"I broke up with Nick today." Louis didn't believe him.
"Why?"
"I found out that he used to bully people and I don't want to be around any kind of negative energy." He explains.
"You're around me." Louis states.
"Why do you beat yourself up so much?" Harry questions. Louis shrugs. Jace was sitting in the backseat.
"Is it because of Jace? I told you to stop listening to him."
"It's not that easy."
"Of course it is. Just ignore him like you would everyone else."
"You don't understand."
"Then help me understand!" Harry rose his voice. Louis flinched.
"I-I..." Harry's face softens when he sees Louis' frightened eyes.
"I'm sorry. Look, babe, I didn't mean to yell. I just want to help you in any way I can. Can you please tell me what's happening to you, right now?" He reached over the console, grabbing Louis' hand. The small boy sighs before answering.
"I haven't eaten...well...I have...but I just throw it up. I don't want to keep it down. I want to be skinnier, prettier." Harry's hands tighten on the steering wheel.
"Lou..." Harry breathes, his jaw clenching. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. The beautiful boy was saying he wasn't beautiful?
"You are skinny. You are pretty. Can you not see that?"
"I don't get why you lie." Louis mumbles, tugging at his bandages.
"I'm not lying. When will you understand that when I see you my breath literally catches and I have to take a second because you are so goddamn breathtaking? When will you understand that I have to hold myself back from kissing you in class because you look so fucking perfect sitting in your seat? When will you understand that?" Harry asks, pulling into the theatre.
Louis didn't answer. Once Harry parked, Louis stepped out, waiting for Harry. The tall boy stood outside the car, crossing his arms in front of Louis.
"Liam and Niall are probably waiting for us." Louis states.
"What did you get from everything that I just told you?" Harry asks. Louis shrugs.
"I don't know. I've never really thought I was in any way pretty or breathtaking. I've always just been...Louis. No one has ever given me a second look or told me what you just told me. I don't know if I believe you or not." He finishes.
"We've been through this, but I guess I have to show you again. I see you right now and I see someone beautiful and perfect in more ways than one. I see someone who doesn't know how amazing he really is because he thinks he's sick. I really want to kiss you." Harry says. Louis gasps.
Then he kisses him.
