Chapter 24:

It was the night of the concert and I had butterflies. My outfit was a daring choice. I'm glad I went with the Brazilian wax since I would be showing more skin than I ever planned to.

Before we left the mall, Anna decided she needed new panties to celebrate. She ended up picking me out a light blue pair that matched my outfit and hair perfectly. They had just enough lacy fabric to cover the front of me. The back was a G-string that came up and tied up in bows high up on my hips. They were way too much. I put them back 100 times before she picked them up and bought them herself and told me I would thank her later.

I pulled them on and tied the sides before pulling on my black fishnet stockings. I wiggled the light blue and black plaid skirt up over my curvy hips. The top bows on my panties were peeking up through the top of the skirt. I could not wear a bra with this outfit, but the black corset held my breasts firmly. The corset accentuated my cleavage in the best way possible. I added the finishing touches, black armbands, a choker, and some blue studs.

I slipped my knee-high boots up over the fishnet stockings and looked down at my hands. My black fingernails popped next to my pale skin. Anna had already done my hair and makeup. She straightened out my newly dyed hair and curled it into big waves. She then proceeded to pull it up on both sides into puffballs. She left a little hair out in the front on both sides and rewetted it so it would curl into a soft wave. Besides the fact I was in mock pigtails, it looked phenomenal with the peaks of blue poking out.

The makeup process was intense. She heavily lined my eyes and applied silver and blue eyeshadow. My green eyes popped back at me in the mirror, looking too big for my face. She left my lips a soft peach gloss.

"You can only have strong eye makeup or strong lips. You do both and you look like a clown." She said while drawing on my face like she was Picasso.

I took one final look in the mirror and couldn't believe my transformation. I looked like me, of course, but there was a strong, confident woman looking back at me. I wish my insides felt like my outside looked. Inside I was just a mushy ball of nerves.

I stepped out in the hall and walked down the stairs. Anna was standing in front of the hall mirror, reapplying her purplish gloss. She was the picture of perfection with her French braid pigtails falling on her bare back. She turned when I made a little noise and her mouth went wide with an exaggerated." Oh my."

"Pretty awful, huh?" I asked insecurely.

"JD is going to kill me. What the hell was I thinking?" Anna began to panic.

"Wanna switch outfits?" I knew darn well that we could never fit in each other's clothes. She was too slender and I was too curvy. It was not like her outfit covered much more skin than mine did anyway.

"Look at those things. I had no idea." She said, holding her arms up to her chest and then pointing to mine.

"Shush you, this is all your fault." I fumbled with the tie on the laces in the back of the corset. I was not used to them dangling on my bare skin.

"JD just texted me. They're on their way. They are a few minutes away." She said, turning back to the mirror to study her reflection.

"They?" I asked curiously.

"JD and Ezra. Mark and Aiden are going ahead to hold our spots in line for us."

I choked. I should have realized all of them would be there tonight. What was I thinking by letting Anna pick this outfit? I turned back around and began to walk up the stairs to go change.

"Where are you going?" She asked, laughing.

"I can't wear this out of the house." I was hyperventilating. I could feel little patches of red dotting my skin down my neck and chest.

"Get it together. You look great. It's my birthday. You have to do what I say. Now get down here with your hot self." She said, shaking her head at me.

I heard a horn honk outside and the butterflies started doing jumping jacks in my stomach. Ezra was in that car. I looked down at my outfit and wondered what he was going to think about my new look. I looked more like the girls that I have seen him with before. I paused, overthinking everything.

Was Ezra the reason I let Anna talk me into wearing this?

Was I trying to change myself for him because I wanted him to notice me?

I mulled over that thought for a minute and decided that I would have gone out like this whether he was there or not. My choice had more to do with Anna picking my look out than Ezra's presence.

Anna ran to the door and pulled it open. I peeked out of the door behind her and saw Ezra's tall, lean body climb out of the passenger seat. His tight black shirt was clinging to his broad shoulders. I remembered what his body looked like under the shirt and my mouth was watering already. I wanted to run my fingertips up and down the tattoos on his skin. This was going to be a very long night.

Gathering all the courage I could muster, I walked out the front door of my house to follow Anna. My mind was racing with excitement for the concert tonight. It wasn't enough to overcome my fear of JD's reaction to my new look or the nervous energy Ezra brought out of me, but I had decided I was going to have fun even with my confused thoughts tagging along.

Anna had already climbed in the front seat when I got to the car. I was stuck sitting next to Ezra in the back. JD was praising Anna for how hot she looked when he caught me out of the corner of his eye. He stopped talking and his mouth hung open in mid-sentence. Anna reached over and closed his mouth for him.

"Doesn't she look great?" Anna beamed, proud of her handiwork. When JD didn't say anything, she reached over and hit him to encourage him to speak. My pissed-off brother turned his head towards her and gave her an angry stare. He was mentally burying her body in the ground right now.

Ezra was walking to the other side of the car when JD went silent. He turned to me as he reached out to open the door. His mouth dropped open, mirroring JD's and his eyes jumped out of the sockets like a cartoon character. The reaction to my makeover was more than I could have ever prepared for. I was about to turn around and run back up to the house crying with humiliation when JD finally broke the awkward silence.

"Wow. You look really awesome, Lil Bit. Get in the car or we'll be late." JD didn't give me any more crap, which was very unusual for him. I was expecting him to drag me back into the house, kicking and screaming. He didn't even threaten to put a trench coat on me. Anna had to have prepared him for tonight before coming to pick us up because this was not the typical JD response.

Ezra stood there, staring at me. His mouth was still hanging open and he didn't seem to know what to do with himself. His eyes were locked on me and I had his full attention. I didn't know that was what I wanted, but I liked the way he was looking at me. His eyes grew larger, watching me when I nervously chewed on my bottom lip.

"Are you coming, dude?" JD asked from the front seat.

"Yeah, here Riley, I got it." He jogged around the car back to where I was standing and pulled the car door open for me. He held the door open with one hand and pushed his messy hair back off his forehead with the other.

"Thanks Ezra." I said, brushing past him to climb into the car. My skirt was short and I had to hold it down when I climbed in, so I didn't reveal myself to him. Ezra stood there watching me as I climbed in. He closed the door behind me and walked back around the other side. My heart was racing. The fact that Ezra just opened the car door for me caught me off guard. I should dress like this more often.

"Ezra, you're on Riley duty tonight." JD commanded. "You let her out of your sight and I will move all your shit to Mark's room until I can evict your ass."

Bannon's was a madhouse tonight. JD spent 10 minutes trying to find parking only to end up with a spot behind the bar where the tour buses hid. Anna and JD were arguing the whole drive JD's about driving skills. Ezra and I played silent observers to their little bicker. JD tried to get Ezra to side with him during the argument. Ezra nodded in silent agreement with JD and I just sat there counting all the streetlights we had passed, trying to ignore the way the dark-haired boy would stare at me from the corner of his eyes.

Every few seconds, I would glance over at him when I thought he wasn't looking. Ezra's eyes would dart away from me and he would fidget awkwardly like he didn't know where to rest his hands. He was careful not to place his hands on the seat near me or move his long legs towards me to get more space. This night had already gotten very interesting. I realized I liked watching Ezra squirm.
