I pulled on my bathing suit and ran down the sandy path to the beach.

"PERCY WAIT I CANT I CANT".

I found him standing on the beach with two surf boards. The ocean was flat and it mirrored the sky perfectly, I couldn't make out the horizon, the water was crystal clear after the short rain fall.

I stood and tried to breath normally so I didn't seem puffed out.

"Percy have to say I'm not great at getting in the water."

Percy eyes my with curiosity but gave me a small smile. You don't have to go in the water today, we will learn how to balance on the beach.

"Oh yay"

"I feel stupid"

I was standing on a board, holding two rocks and balancing.

"You need to know how to balance Annabeth, you did ask for me to teach you how to surf".

"I didn't think I would have to do this,I look like an fool".

"Good thing I'm the only other person here to see you".

"I barley even know you Percy". I jumped off the board and sat on the sand. All of my moral had been lost in the wind. I think it was from the rock balances.

"I need to know that you are taking this seriously Annabeth, I can't you throw you on a board and then pushing out int the waves, that's not how surfing works".

"Well can't we do not weird rock balancing thing"

Percy sat down next to be. The sand shifted and a clear scent of ocean wafted over me, the scent was familiar and calming.

"My name is Percy Jackson, I'm from New York, I'm Sixteen years old. My mother is sally Jackson, my step dad is Pual blofis, my step sister is Estelle. I love blue food".

I looked over at him kinda shocked. I looked back at me. "Now you know more stuff about me, so we can continue."

"Why do you like blue food?"

" why are you scared of the ocean".

We both stayed silent.

"Come on Annabeth, I want to get you in the water before we end the session".

He was right the sun was getting low and I needed to care for an injured bird.

We walked down the water. I could feel my heart beat in my ears and didn't want to look at the water. "I-I can't I'm scared".

I felt a strange lifting sensation. I opened my eyes to see Percy holding me like a baby. He slowly walked out into the water. I kept my eyes closed and pressed myself into his body.

"P-please don't drop me"

I could heart Percy's heart beat through his shirt. The slow rhythm calmed me.

"I'm not gonna drop you but open your eyes Annabeth and just look. I looked. The ocean was so close to touching me. I really prayed that Percy wasn't a jackass and doesn't drop me.

"Just touch the water with a finger Annabeth"

I didn't as he said and reach down the liquid.

I cautiously dipped my finger in. Ripples shimmered around it and the water gave me a cooling sensation.

"I did it!!" I looked up to see Percy giving me a trouble makers smirk.

We slowly moved back to shore and within no time my feet were back on the sand and I was saying goodbye to the mystery boy.
