TIME IS A THIEF no matter how little passes on. All it took was a matter of weeks and one crazy decision to go boating the morning after a hurricane hit the island last summer to put Juniper Collins and her four closest best friends and one old friend on the craziest adventure of their sixteen years of life. An adventure that involved a previously thought to be fantasy secret treasure, constant running from the local police, multiple disturbing the peace incidents and when it all came to a head...three deaths. Three deaths that shook their community to its core, while simultaneously tearing it a part.

One was a beloved Sheriff– Sheriff Peterkin, the other was the daughter of one of the wealthiest men on the island– Sarah Cameron, the Kook Princess– and an old friend Juniper had just rekindled with, and the third...the third was her lifelong best friend– John B Routledge, her other half, a part of her she hadn't ever remembered a life without. All three deaths hung heavy over the island, but more importantly, over Juniper and her friends heads. Because they knew what happened to Sheriff Peterkin– who shot her and why. And the island was blaming John B for everything.

But he never got the chance to plead his case, because all everyone ever saw was a Pogue and whose words held more weight? Ward Cameron– the King Kook himself? Or John B...a 17-year-old Pogue who at that point in time had nothing to lose? No one on the island ever let each other forget what happened those days– both on the tarmac and that night when the Sheriffs Office and SBI officially declared their two best friends dead at sea. John B's wanted posters still hung around town no matter how many times they tried to rip them down. The people whispered about how they let them get away.

And no matter how hard they wished that they could just turn back time or make it fast forward– anything to get rid of the pain of losing their friends...time stayed the same and they were stuck in their grief.

GRIEF THAT THEY EACH carried so differently, but they always stuck together. That was their motto– Pogues stick together. Through thick and thin, no matter what kind of crazy shit you go through– running from cops, searching for lost gold, breaking into a blind lady's basement or helping your best friends escape to the Bahamas in the middle of the hurricane– Pogues always stick together. But those challenges came with a lot more than just the grief itself...life was there too.

And life was never an easy thing– most definitely not for Juniper either. Two of her best friends were dead, she was officially dating one of her childhood best friends (which was no easy adjustment), her Mom was back in her life and bringing with her a step-dad and two half-brothers and even in the short amount of time was being integrated in her day-to-day life. She transferred schools, she got another job, add in her friends attempts at trying to prove their John B's innocence and it was a full plate. Juniper was changing her life beyond what it used to be.

Gone were the carefree times of after school beach sessions with her friends. Weekend parties and sleepovers at John B's Chateau where they'd swing in the hammocks and joke about anything and everything before daydreaming about how their lives would be years from now. A matter of weeks had taken it all away and that life was now one that Juniper and her friends could only look back on and recognize them as memories– because nothing was the same and it was something they were coming to terms with.

Until they got the text that changed everything.

SUDDENLY IT'S LIKE IT'S summer again and the four best friends are finding themselves getting into all sorts of mess trying to prove John B's innocence once and for all. But they're Pogues and Pogues stick together and help each other get out of messes, no matter how messy they can be or the damage they leave behind.

But this time isn't like the last because they're not the same people anymore that they were even that short time ago. They've experienced what it was to grieve for their best friends, they dealt with it as best as they could and sometimes it's just tiring trying to fight against a system that's constantly against you...but for John B and Sarah, they'd still try.

And just like last summer, they're finding themselves in the middle of a mess that they can't seem to fix– Ward and Rafe Cameron not being their only threats in the mix– but a pact is a pact and despite the bumps they run into along the way with each other and their threats, the Pogues try their best to stick together.

Yet when they find themselves in a situation where their luck has deemed to run out, the sizzling feeling Juniper's had about the Pogues exploding comes to light and just when they need to stick together, everything blows up in their faces. And suddenly, they're all trying to remember what it was all for when all it's ever brought them was trouble and pain. But like all times before, when the time comes for back up, they've got each other's back.

NO MATTER WHO IT destroys in the end.
