Work for the Weak: Chapter 2
~Anthony's POV~
Looking back, it could have gone either way. It didn't work out, which makes it look like fate, or a stupid gene mistake, or both. But at the time, I did have a few things in my favor. I had two parents with generations of Alphas in their line. I had the best gene pool there could possibly be. I had the experience of four older siblings, all who came out as Alphas the day they realized how much they appreciated our parents.
Although, thinking back on it, I never did learn to appreciate my parents the way my siblings did. I always hated them. They always were harder on me than on my siblings, but I had always accosted that to them already knowing their rank in this stupid world we lived in.
I kept dwelling on that as I flipped to the last page of my college level History book. I didn't even know why I'd bothered reading it. I wasn't allowed to go to college anyway, being a "stupid Omega" and all. And high school was a blowout of sex and unnecessary lessons for half of the student body.
Not that anyone actually cared. No one ever noticed. Like they never noticed me. I sighed and looked around the dark room, illuminated only by my desk lamp, and pulled out my romance novel. I wasn't supposed to be reading this late. That could get me whipped. But I had just gotten the novel from off the street, and I was almost finished.
I had a whole stash of romance novels in the hidden corner of my room. I only brought them out during my heats. They seemed to help, and no one saw them anyway. I didn't see the harm in them, so I kept them. The only thing they did was help isolate the fact that I wasn't good enough, and I was never going to be taken in by an Alpha, or even a Beta. It helped isolate the fact that I was never going to get out of this hell-hole of a house, and away from the people that hate me so much.
Suddenly, a creak in the floorboards outside sounded, and I tossed my book into the secret drawer no one knew I had. The door unlocked, and my mother's scent sent me scrambling for my bed. "Go to sleep, you worthless child." I whimpered, her Alpha voice sending it's usual shiver down my spine. As she left, the door slammed and the lock, well, locked, and that was it for the night. I wasn't coming out until morning, and everyone knew it.
Or so they thought.
I slipped on my hoodie, the comforting snugness of it sending warm feelings down my spine, and I sighed silently. This was the only way I could be happy at night, or at all, so I fluffed up my nest to make it appear slept in and left my diffuser, already full of my scent, on the bed so no one would think I was out. I opened the window and cautiously crept out. Our one-story house had only one window that opened enough for a full-sized human being to creep out, and I was lucky enough to have that window. I snuck out, softly closing the window just enough that it wouldn't lock, but it would still appear closed.
I crept through the city, as silent as a mouse, sticking to the shadows where no one would see me. I wanted to be able to do this during the day, but stupid laws required Omegas under 18 to be supervised at all times.
Thank goodness I was turning 18 in three days. Otherwise, I probably would have died.
After traipsing around, killing time for about half-an-hour, I decided to head back home and head to bed. I bolted as quick as I could and peered cautiously into the window, smelling for any scents that weren't supposed to be there. The only scents I smelled were mine, and the faint smell of my mother, which made sense, because she was here a little over an hour ago. I quietly clambered in and changed back into my sleeping clothes. I burrowed the used clothes into the hamper and closed the closet quickly and quietly. I hopped into bed and put the diffuser onto my side table, falling asleep soon afterwards.

YO TWO CHAPTERS IN A DAY OMG WOW.
This is honestly to make up for the fact that I probably won't update for a god-damn long time, so I'm sorry in advance.
This story is actually going better than I thought it would go! I wrote this one in under an hour, and I'm proud of how it is so far.
So, y'all have met Elijah and Anthony, and that means Benjamin is up next!
Lolol tho I've been on Wattpad all day I'm turning into Emma help me
Anyway, you might see an update for Benjamin soon, or you might not. Idk how update system is going to work right now because I have super strict Asian parents that make me do a shit ton of stuff so ye. I might update again today, or tomorrow, or two years from now. (hopefully not the latter because if that happens it'll most likely be to tell y'all that the story is being discontinued or some shit) But whenever I do, please don't be afraid to comment and vote on it, because it gives us so much life!
SHOUTOUT TO Aaronplier for that first vote! Thank you so much! It really gave us the motivation that this story wasn't actually going to be shit!
Love y'all! And remember,
You are stronger than you think,
Smarter than you know,
And sweeter than we tell you.
