You know when you really like someone and you can't stop thinking about them, you want them to hold you, talk to you, anything. Well for me that is Jack, we spent days together wondering pristine white, clinical halls waiting for my clearance, we only separated at bedtimes or when I had to go in for more tests. I have been here two weeks and already know my way around this jail of a hospital.

"Can we talk?" asks Jack, after turning the final corner to my room.

"Sure" I say trying to read the expression on his face. We walk into my room and close the door. I watch Jack cross the room and sit on the floor, head resting against the bed frame. I stand there looking into his deep blue eyes, they look tired, bored yet ... scared? I can understand why they look bored... It has been raining for days, that means in the outdoor room, which is where we often sat in the sun listening to each other as we explained our lives, or at least our old lives. Every word that was said about my life felt like it was being read from a fairy tale book, everything seem so perfect... Now it is chaos. I would often cry.. Cry for my dad, why oh why did he have to be on the other side of this war, fight, battle... I would cry for mum, my friends in Australia and that innocent girl I left behind.

"come" Jack pats the floor beside him. I slowly walk over and sit down.

"Everything is now going to change... I want to be the first person to tell you what will happen... What will happen to you, your life, your past.. and us." I take a deep breath and put my head on his shoulder. "America is at war with itself, we have the the Loch Ness CC, the Drow's FF, Imoogi MM and the Phoenix TT. The Loch Ness CC's are supported by the government, they are the ones fighting for human containment. They believe that everyone who turns 18 must be microchipped, that microchip sends information to the government about your whereabouts, your thoughts and reactions to certain things and whether your blood type is stable.The Drows FF are fighting for freedom but support removing everyone's blood types and exterminating those who reach the stage of activation, they are working with the Loch Ness CC's. Imoogi are made up of those who are activated... They are running wild, some sane some out of control, they are the ones stopping us getting anywhere.. Most of them are innocent, they do not understand what they are fighting for, that is why we can't kill many of them. We are the rebels, we are working to take back America and bring peace...". Jack lowers his voice and leans in closer.

"Though our leader is going corrupt.... soon there will be a fight within us to take him down...". I stare at the wall trying to process everything...

"What and who are activated?"

"About a decade ago the government succeed in passing a law that all 18 year old must be processed and microchipped, but back then they gave them pills which just sat in their bodies... They found that five years later the pills exploded, release a chemical called exride 204. This chemical would take over the brains and changed the blood. Most people reacted and produced what we call blood of the earthlings, but a few produced blood of an animal and now we have one that produces both... Those who were affected then had kids, passing on their blood types and yeah you get the rest."

Jack leans over and kisses me on the check...

"You will be fine.."

sit there with my head in my hands, what now, am I going to become a human experiment? A tear slides down my cheek and falls to the floor. Jack stands and moves in front of me and kneels down, he reaches for my cheek.

"I would never let anything happen to you, you have to trust me". Jack whispers into my ear.

I look up, face red, eyes filled with tears. "I trust you....". I drop my head back into my hands and sob

We stay that way until no more tears come and my eyelids drop shut.

"Lennie, Lennie...."

"Daddy?"

"There you are Lennie."

"Daddy, I'm scared."

"Come for hug, now why are you scared?"

"I was playing hide and seek, but I always find everyone quickly, Jack said I was a cheater, but I said he smelt funny so I could find him by following his smell he got angry because I said he smelt funny so he chased me".

"Lennie, this is really important so listen to daddy. You must not tell anyone about what you can smell, hear and see. Things are about to change, you cannot play with the other kids anymore".

"But why Daddy?!"

"Lennie you have to listen to me, it is very important".

"I want to play hide and seek, I'm going back to the park."

*GRAB*

"Lennie you cannot go anywhere, you must stay here..."

*SCREAM*

Chill Alenna, it was only a dream. I sit up and let my eyes adjust to the dark room, I'm sitting in bed fully clothed from the day before. I shiver as I feel the goose bumps down my arms, I concentrate on getting my breathing back to normal, in, out, in, out. I swing my legs off the bed and stand up on the cold tiled floor and start walking toward the door which isn't very far, but as I take a step my foot kicks something on the floor which makes it slide under the bed. Great, this isn't creepy at all, I know I should just leave it and get out of here but my curiosity gets the better of me... damn my curiosity. I drop onto all fours and slowly scan under the bed, there in corner is a square box. I reach in and pull it out. I hold it flat out on my hand just staring at it... What should I do? I turn it over and there on the side written in cursive is Lennie. I instantly drop the box, dad is the only one who knows about my nickname and only he writes like that, this can't be good. I run to the door and activate the access code.. Access denied.. WHAT?!? DENIED, I punch the code in again... Access denied.

"Alenna!" screams a voice from the other side.

"JACK! HELP!"

"It's ok, we can work this out, calm down".

CLANG

I slowly turn around *SCREAM* the box... it's...

"ALENNA!"

I stare at the opening box, it is silver and small.

"ALENNA! ANSWER ME!"

I run to the door and kick it as hard as I can.

"JACK, JACK HELP ME!"

I kick and yank at the door screaming, I can hear Jack doing the same. Tears stream down my face blurring my vision.

"Jack, help!" I yell as I collapse to the floor, I draw my knees in and close my eyes tight as all sides of the box hit the ground.

"ALENNA, it's professor Megan here, we are going to get you out"

"ALENNA? ALENNA! Calls Jack

Something in his voice makes me look up. I am sitting in a small pool of water that is slowly trickling out of what looks like a crystal ball surrounded by clear metal?

"JACK, it's water" I croak. Almost instantly after I said the first word the ball exploded with a loud bang releasing tonnes of water.

"JACK, JACK, HELP I'M GOING TO DROWN!" I scream frantically. The room is filling with dark murky water.

"Alenna, it's Megan, can you last another minute or so?"

"Of course not, are you an idiot, GET HER OUT NOW!".

"Jack she is trying."

"Someone contain him please..."

I scream as my feet leave the floor I have about 1 metre of air space left. I am taken away from the door by the current that is swirling around in circles gaining speed. I go under for a second and taste metal. As I surface I am surrounded by blood, I can no longer hear anyone, I try and scream but nothing comes out. I am sinking, heart pounding in my ears, I'm done.
