Chapter 3: In His Bedroom

Chapter 3

In His Bedroom

I feel like I'm already in my bed. Sean must have carried me here. I still had my eyes closed. I snuggled myself with my body pillow and fell deeper in my sleep.

"HEY! Wake up!" I heard someone familiar yelled. But I knew it wasn't Sean or my dad. And definitely not my mom, this voice was very masculine. I convinced myself that it was Sean.

"Sean, no! I'm sleeping can't you see?" I yawned and hugged my pillow tighter.

I slowly came back into my consciousness as someone shook me off to bed. I struggled from the hands that are keeping me from having a good night sleep. Until I fell down the bed. Now I'm completely awake! You're going to pay dear brother!

"Sean, why did you—" I yelled as I stood up and saw the jerk. What's he doing here? "Oh, it's you. What are you doing here?!"

He raised his eyebrow. "Excuse me, but this is my room."

I looked around. Oh, God. It's not my room, neither Sean's. I'm doomed! I looked down, completely abashed. He chuckled. "Aren't you worried?" He stood closer to me. It's like what he did to me at the Garden. Wait, was that a garden? I don't know, but it sure looks like it.

I shook my head. Words failed me and sarcasm ditched me.

"You're not worried that maybe I did something to you?" His voice filled with a goofy lust, while he plastered a smirk on his face. I felt his cool breath swooshing on my face, giving me slight goose bumps.

I pushed him away. I'm not worried of course. Like I said, no one would dare. "Of course not! Not a face like that would do something with a face like this?!" Then I pointed myself.

"It's a good thing you're smart." Then he pulled away.

"Whatever!" Now I'm completely mortified and insulted. "Where are my things?! I'm going home!" I looked around and found my bag on the couch. I didn't need his answer, so I shove my things and stomped near the door. He quickly followed.

"At this late hour? Are you sure?"

I looked at my watch, and it's already two-thirty in the morning. What to do? Oh, gosh!

"But hey! Why did you wake me up in the first place, Huh?!" Seriously, why did he? He's nut! A coo coo brain! No, delete that. He owns no brain!

"To interrupt you from your dreams. I heard you say my name sweetly." He winked. "And I wouldn't let you fall in love with me just because of a dream, so I woke you up."

"JERK! And no, I'm not dreaming! But if I'm dreaming about you, then it's not a dream at all! It would be a nightmare!" I yelled, completely annoyed. I wish I could punch him. Yeah I can, but I know he wouldn't be hurt, so why would I bother to even try? Makes sense right? I rolled my eyes, trying to calm my mind down. "I will ask again, why did you wake me up?!"

He crossed his arms and sat on his couch. "Your phone rang, and it woke me up. So to play fair, I woke you up as well." Then he stuck his tongue out like a kid.

"Play fair? What the hell? Tss." I hissed through gritted teeth. His way of thinking does not suit his outer appearance, does it? Nah!

"Just sleep again." He laid his body down his couch. I can't help but to think that he, the coo-coo-brained man, also has a soft heart. Or not.

He stood back up and then pulled me towards his couch. "Oh, I totally forgot. This is my room, my house, and my bed. So I'm sleeping on it."

Then again, I felt insulted. I took a grip on his shirt and pulled him back again. If he wants to play messy, then bring it on. I won't be this nice ugly nerd anymore. Well only in front of him, that is. "I slept on it first! And have you ever heard of the phrase "Ladies first"? Well I guess you're not a man, after all. And I am pretty sure about that." I teased him in a sarcastic way and then nod at myself, agreeing with what I just said.

"You slept on it first? Really?" He shrugged as if he's dumb enough to believe me. Then he wore a teasing smirk.

"Talk about common sense. Well whatever! And oh, I didn't even know you were a girl. Remind me next time, would you?" Then he let out a forced laugh, making it sound sarcastic.

He slipped down under his bed while I'm left here standing. I didn't know what to do. Will I let him win just like that? It is settled. I won't. So I pushed him towards the edge of his bed. "Hey! Move! I'm going to sleep."

But before I could close my eyes, I saw him giving me a what-the-hell-are-you-thinking look, but I just shrugged it off. Then I close my eyes completely, hoping that I could continue my interrupted sleep a while ago. I thought sleeping in a cozy bed would make me feel much more comfortable, but I was wrong. I can't sleep now. I feel weird. Is that because I'm away from home, and that I'm sleeping with a complete bully stranger whom I still don't know his name? Or because of the possibilities that may happen? No way!

"I'm not going to do something foul to you." He said, as if he read my thoughts.

"I know." I said confidently, trying to hide my worries. I grope at my side, checking if he's near me or not. I shivered slightly when I felt my hand landed on his abs. I automatically pulled my hand back. "I'm sorry! I didn't mean—"

"It's okay. I know how my pheromones affect you. I completely understand." He teased cockily. I opened my eyes and saw him winked. Conceited jerk! Normally I would defend myself, but this time I did not retort back. I pushed him away from me, leaving enough distance between us.

"Keep enough space. I have an imaginary friend right here." I said in a weird tone, wanting to freak him out.

He didn't seem to look scared. Oh what am I thinking? He's a guy. But still, he gave me a confused look for a second. "Great, so now you're inviting your weird friends after being invited? Gee. No. I didn't even know that you were invited.

"Quit it!" I turned away, then I elbowed him. Well he deserves it anyway. Hearing him groan in annoyance, made me sleep. Haha! I'm such a meanie.

I woke up at exactly five in the morning. Checking my phone was the first thing I did. I grew more awake the moment I saw ten missed calls and thirteen text messages. I checked the calls first, and it was all from Sean. He must be worried all this time. Then I checked the messages afterwards. And as expected, it was all from Sean.

I quickly gussied myself and fixed my things. I wrote a note saying: Thanks for letting me stay over the night, coo coo brain. Though you still bullied me, I still appreciate your concern. But then again, I knew you're not concerned at all. So I take that thank you-part back. PS: I am Denisse. I just thought I'd let you know that.

I placed the paper under his cellphone so that he will surely notice it. I took a last look at the jerk. He's still fast sleep. Then I made my way out of his house. It's a good thing that he's the only one in there, or else I will be doomed.
