To Help a Friend in Need

"There is no time for boys" Ron paced in the hallway of the third floor. He was supposed to be meeting up with Hermione to study for the upcoming exams. However, his mind was flooded with thoughts of Draco. "There is no time for boys, there is no time for boys. There's no time-"

"WOULD YOU SHUT UP?" A grumpy, booming voice exploded from one of the paintings on the wall. It was an 1700's English aristocrat. "Bloody hell!" Ron flinched, being startled by the sudden projection. "You have been rambling on and on, if you have no time for BOYS then give them no time!" The aristocrat spat, looking away as Ron raced up to the portrait and looked up. "Please help me. What do you think I should do?" Ron implored, the portrait started chuckling. "Well you says boys, of whom do you refer?" The aristocrat asked. "Well, my best friend Harry and our worst enemy Draco Malfoy." Ron explained, holding his hands together. His ears tinged red by finally saying this to someone though it was just a painting. "How invigorating. Date the enemy, there's fire there. I can see it boiling in you." The aristocrat teased, Ron furrowed his brows. "But why should I? He is such an entitled brat with his dumb face and his dumb gorgeous eyes and his stupid perfect smile and bone structure-"

While Ron had been confessing everything he was holding back, Hermione had long appeared behind him. "Please portrait! You're so ancient you must know what I need to do. I can't be in love with Draco, can I?" Ron cried, noticing the painting had walked out of the frame, gone. In this brief bit of silence he would huff and rubbed the back of his neck. Hermione try as she might, could not hold back the laughter that was soon to erupt. "DRACO?" She exclaimed and along with it came merciless laughter, she laughed so hard her breath ran out. Ron's entire face phased to a bright tomato red. "Did you hear that, Hermione?" Ron interrogated immediately, getting defensive. "Every word, I'd expect this from Harry honestly. He's always getting us into trouble, but you? You're in love with Draco?" She laughed more and more. Ron got angry, shaking his head and shoving past Hermione only to bump into Harry. "Oh merlin's beard. Could this get any worse." He muttered.

"We need to go to Hagrid's something is wrong." Harry announced, looking to his friends. His eyes lingered on Ron. Hermione had straightened up to stop laughing, she nodded her head and the trio went to see their friend, Hagrid. Once they arrived they'd head inside to the see the gentle giant Hagrid weeping, blowing his nose aggressively into his sleeve. The trio comforted him, "What has happened?" Harry inquired, receiving sobs from Hagrid who'd hug him. "The Ministry is going to execute Buckbeak. For no fault of his own, it was that Malfoy." Hagrid sobbed.

Ron stiffened, "Draco caused this?" He said, Hagrid nodded slowly while blowing his nose once again. "H-He just teased poor Buckbeak. He's a never hurt nobody. He was provoked! My Buckbeak is just an innocent creature." There was a knocking on the door and the trio tensed up, Hagrid stood up and looked at them, "It's best youse all take yer leavin'" Hagrid shuffled to the door as the three would race out into the pumpkin patch, hiding behind the largest pumpkin. Hermione shook her head, "We have to do something. They are going to kill Buckbeak because of that Malfoy." She was angry, of course, but noticed Ron's conflicted expression. Harry would peak up over the pumpkin, seeing the executioner step outside. Then it was done, Harry's eyes stained with the image as he flopped onto the ground. "We can't do anything...he's gone."

Hermione shook her head and reached in her shirt and pulled out her time-turner."W-What how do you have that?" Ron was shocked, scooting away to stand. "I'll explain later, just hold my hand." She reached out to the both of them and then the trio warped away. They were back thirty minutes ago, hiding in the forest as they saw their past selves heading to Hagrid's. They watched with close eyes, Harry throwing a rock at himself through the window. Then, it was time for them to act. They'd get the Hippogriff away before getting him to safety. Hermione used rodents to keep Buckbeak's attention from wondering away. "What next?" Harry questioned, Ron still looking conflicted as they would head back to Hogwarts. "Let's just get back before we are noticed or run into ourselves." That was when they ran into the band of assholes. Crabbe, Goyle, and Draco. "Ah look what we have here." Goyle chuckled, his face had a strain like that of a constipated toad. Crabbe began to insert himself, "Look-" He began, but was pushed out of the way by Draco. "What're you doing, Mudblood?" Draco had a sly grimace, his eyes wondering as he would look at Ron. "Oh my little weasel, I missed seeing your dumbfounded expression."

"Hey leave him alone!" Harry defended, seeing Hermione's expression he knew she was infuriated. She would eye Draco, "You better take that ugly gaze from me, filthy Mudblood." Draco kept pushing it. Ron interjected, "Hermione, it's not worth it okay? Let's just go." He tried to deescalate the tension. She looked at him with an unimpressed glance, "Of course you'd say that." She scolded before turning and facing Draco. "What it is now, know it all?" He taunted.

"You foul, loathsome, evil little cockroach!" She screamed before landing a forceful punch that broke Draco's nose.
