"It was NOT that scary."

"It was very scary!" I argue back, watching the way he folds his arms over his chest. "Lyra was... very creepy."

"Een," He sighs loudly, enough for the people walking down the stairs heading to dinner to notice. "The genre of the movie is psychological horror. The writer's entire intention is to make it scary."

I was never a fan of psychological horror. I tended to stay away from things that so much as scared me the teensiest bit, even though they slightly sparked my curiosity.

The movie Semi picked out was called 'Anti.Social.', and it lived true to its name and synopsis. And even though I hated to admit it, the movie was very, very good, and I had to give props to the amazing writer who wrote the storyline so well, enough to make me want to finish it even though I feared for upcoming nightmares from tonight onwards.

"Anyway. This is as far as I can go, so... Good night, Een." He says, pointing to the staircase.

According to Shiratorizawa rules, boys were not allowed to enter the girl's wing of the building, and vice versa, after dinner up till breakfast the next day. Semi and I had decided to skip dinner on account of having had so much of the snacks he had brought for me while we watched the movie.

"Goodnight, Eita-kun."

"You know, that's bothering me a little."

"What?" I ask, tilting my head a little. He scratches the nape of his neck while he glances at me.

"The suffix. I'd rather you don't call me that. It sounds like Satori."

"Oh."

"And well. We're... Yeah, so I'd prefer you just call me my name without adding the -kun." He lets me know. I give him a thumbs up, and he chuckles while he glances at the leftover packets of snacks he had given me. He let me take them back, saying his roommate would not tolerate it if he found out we had snacks there.

'I want to erase all the evidence of what we did, so...'

I giggle when I remember the wordings he chose to say, and he looks back to my face.

"What? Why are you laughing?"

"Nothing. See you tomorrow.... Eita."

His scowl disappears momentarily, and I wait for a few seconds before I turn around and walk up the stairs.

All the while as I smiled to myself, with the thought that I might be the only person who he showed those expressions on his face to.

"Plan ready, Een-chan?" Tendou wants to know, while we pack up our stationary two days later. I give him a nod, and Hichimiya approaches us with her book bag.

"I don't know, man. He hasn't done anything for Een, why should we go the extra mile for him?" She puffs her cheeks with an irritated expression on her face. Tendou shrugs in response, and I shake my head.

"God, what do you have against my soulmate?" I mumble, picking my bag up. Tendou watches the way I catch up to Hichimiya, who had walked off with her hands on her hips.

"I don't understand why Een has to do all that for him when he still hasn't asked her out."

"Don't worry, I'm sure Eita-kun would do something for Een-chan's birthday. Besides, her birthday comes after his, so you can't change that."

"I'm not happy with this, but you, being the idiot that you are, want to do this... I guess I'll help you, Een."

Tendou has a happy smile on his face while I give my roommate a thankful hug. We step out of class and head downstairs, where Hichimiya and I promise to meet up with the middle blocker later, at dinner.

Semi's birthday was this Sunday, and I was still unsure of what I could give him as a present. I still hadn't learned as much about him as I wanted to, and when I asked him what he wanted via text, he gave me a response even I was annoyed with.

'You don't really have to do anything for me just because I'm your soulmate.'

"Idiot Eita," I mumble, throwing my book bag onto the bed. Hichimiya does the same with her book bag before she flings herself onto the bed as well.

"Get up, you oaf, we need to go have dinner."

"I'm busy planning on 20 different ways I can kill Semi in under 5 minutes." She says, raising a finger. "Don't ruin my concentration."

"Hichimiya, let's just go, okay?" I smack her head and step outside. I was starving already, and I wished I ate enough earlier at lunch. I had thrown away half of my food after Semi, Tendou and Aimee were done and began leaving before I could finish eating.

I really needed to stop doing that.

When I reach the door to the cafeteria, there is a familiar figure standing outside, her black hair flowing around when she turns to face me.

"Een-senpai!" She greets, with a wave. It was the girl who had confessed to Semi last month, and I feel myself tensing at her sight.

What was her name again? I am wondering this when she gives me a smile.

"It's Sawa. I bet you didn't remember my name, haha." She says, then claps her hands together. "Can I sit with you today, during dinner?"

"Uh..."

"Mitsuki?" A familiar voice wants to know, making the two of us almost jump half a foot. Semi is standing behind us with a confused look on his face, and Tendou, Ushijima, and a few others who I didn't recognise stood behind him.

Semi waits for his friends to get inside before he turns to face the girl again.

"Are you bothering Een again?" Semi asks with a disappointed expression. "Een, let's go."

"What no! I just wanted to tell her something!" Sawa cries. She looks at me with a hurtful expression on her face, and I turn to glance at Semi.

"I'll meet you inside in a minute." I let him know. His glare softens into a doubtful scowl before he gives me a nod. The two of us watch the way he enters the cafeteria without a word, and the freshman looks at me in awe.

"Semi-san rejected me, Senpai." She says, with a doleful expression on her face. "You probably don't understand how I feel, though."

"Oh, don't worry. He rejected me too." I inform her, and her eyes go wide.

"W-What?! How can he reject his soulmate?!"

"Well, he has his reasons. Besides, we aren't even dating." I let her know. This information makes her eyes widen even further.

"I was there that morning when you had a fight with Semi-senpai. I thought you both had a misunderstanding, but made up soon afterwards, since I see you both together in lunch often, now." She says.

"Er... Yeah."

"But yes, I wanted to say sorry about what I did. Um well. I hope you and Semi-senpai are happy together." She adds with a wave. "I think he wants you to go eat with him, so go ahead."

I was shocked at how smoothly she had given in, and when Hichimiya approaches me and taps my shoulders to ask me what's wrong, I can only shrug in response. The two of us enter the cafeteria and pick up our food at the counter.

Semi and his friends are waiting for us to get seated, and we dig into our food. Aimee and Kanzaki join us a little while later, and Semi scoots a little closer to me to make space for the two on the bench.

Instinctively, I end up hesitating and moving a little away from him, which Semi immediately notices.

"What?"

"Um, nothing," I say, reaching for a slice of bread. I can feel his gaze on me as I used a knife to scrape the crusts off. When I lift a piece of my food up, he looks away.

It seemed like he knew when to stop.

Our table, where my four friends and I would usually sit by ourselves, now seemed cluttered by volleyball players. Kanzaki gives an uneasy glance before Aimee breaks the ice.

"I found my soulmate today." She announces. All of our glances turn to her, while she curls a lock of her dark hair. "He's a piece of shit, just like Semi."

"Hey!" Semi cries, furrowing his eyebrows. Aimee pays no attention to Semi's protests, and she continues.

"He travelled all the way here and showed his mark around like a pathetic loser." She laughs at the memory, and Kanzaki shakes her head at the remark.

"What school is he from? What's his name?" Hichimiya queries, excitedly looking up from her cake slice. Aimee shoots a glance at Ushijima before she bursts out laughing.

"Eh? What is it?"

"Uh..."

"Aimee?"

"Aicchi, just tell them." Kanzaki looks irritated now, and Aimee slaps the table a couple times before she could calm herself.

"Seijoh, Oikawa Tooru."

There is silence throughout the table before Tendou gasps disturbingly loud.

"OH."

"Oh is right."

"Are you sure it's Oikawa? That guy's insanely attractive right?" Hichimiya wants to know. "I heard a lot of people like him and that he has this really large female fanbase?"

"I checked correctly this time, trust me." Aimee lets us know. "We exchanged contacts after we made sure our patterns really matched."

It doesn't take two seconds for her to burst out laughing again. Semi glances at me in confusion and I give him a shrug in response. I couldn't find out what was funny about the situation until Ushijima puts down his utensils.

"It's a pity he went to Seijoh. He should have come to Shiratorizawa." He has to say. This makes Aimee laugh so hard that she almost spurts the entire juice she had been drinking.

"You tell him." Aimee gives a thumbs up to Ushijima, while trying to stifle her laughter. "I told him that, and he had this really irritated expression on his face before he said he had to 'go'."

While Aimee continued to cough up a lung in her laughing fest, Tendou turns to face Semi, in an attempt to change the subject.

"So, Eita-kun, Een-chan made this really yummy cake today during Home Economics. You missed it."

"Oh."

"Okay, Semi pisses me off." Aimee stops laughing. Semi's eyes widen again, pure shock clearly visible on his face.

"I am sitting right here, you know." He has to say.

"You don't just say 'Oh' when someone says your girlfriend is making cake. You should say 'Bruh, I want some of that cake you made, darling'. That's what."

Semi cringes a little at what Aimee said, then turns to face Tendou. "So. What did you want to say, Satori?"

"Well, you know that Een-chan is doing that to make a cake for your birthday, right?"

"But I-" Semi begins to protest before Aimee interrupts him again.

"I hate Semi."

"Can you not?" My soulmate cries before he takes in an exhale.

"And you both are going out to the city and roaming around on a date, that day. I made the plan." Tendou wriggles his eyebrows mischievously, which makes Semi squint his eyes at the middle blocker.

I feel myself flush and I stay quiet, not knowing how else to react. I feel him turning to look at me, and I look up to see what he wanted.

And the entire table fell silent at what he said.

"I'm sorry, Een, but I can't do that with you."
