• Semi x Een •

We almost missed the train.

Partly because it was a Saturday and everyone was sleeping in, but mostly because neither of us had set an alarm.

We wake up when Tendou, under Hichimiya's orders, throws a volleyball straight at Semi's head.

At the shock and the pain, Semi doubles over, his chest pressing against my face and I wake up when I begin to suffocate.

"I got it on video!" A voice yells, while the two of us blink, recovering from the post moments of waking up.

"O-Oi. Delete that!" Semi yells, understanding what happened long before I stop making a groggy face and stand up.

"What the fuck was that face, Een?" Semi wants to know when I blink up at him and stretch a little.

"It's a fuck face. Shut up," I respond, kicking his shin for what he said. If he said the same thing to me around two hours later, I would never have even thought of saying what I did.

I was not a morning person, Semi needed to learn that.

While Hichimiya and Tendou are snickering at my soulmate, I walk back to my dorm to get ready.

And when I wash my face and tie my hair to a side, slowly realisation hits me.

"Oh my god, what have I said to Eita?!" I yell loudly, grabbing my already-packed bag. Aimee is resting on Hichimiya's bed, scrolling through something on her smartphone.

She begins laughing right away.

"He looked shocked, but I'm sure he wasn't mad. I mean, if he was, then I'd punch him. Guys curse all the time, but when a girl does, they literally tell us to be more 'lady-like'. Hah. Nope."

I could see that there was no point in talking to Aimee anymore. She continues ranting about how guys won't stop shitting around, and I shake my head before putting on my shoes. Semi is leaning against my door, slightly losing balance a bit when I open the door without warning.

"Ouch." He instinctively grabs the doorpost to break his fall, then looks at me.

"You feel better now?" Semi wants to know, a slight trace of worry on his face when I give him a nod, embarrassed for what I had done earlier. He doesn't seem angry, in fact; he looks energetic when he begins to walk ahead.

"I'll grab something for us to eat on the train, we'll have to miss breakfast."

"Let's hurry." I say, and the two of us dash downstairs, while we can hear Hichimiya and Tendou cheering us and saying things like 'SemiEen' while we ran to the front office.

"Sheesh." I hear him mumble under his breath, while we run. We made it to the train station just three minutes before the final boarding call. I hurry to take out the tickets from my pocket, and we are out of breath as we slowly slip into our seats.

"Een."

Semi takes a second to catch his breath,

"You remembered the tickets. Knowing you, I thought you would forget them."

"You think very lowly of me, then," I say, slightly offended at his lack of trust in me. He puts the paper bag of pastries he bought, on my lap, before he shakes his head.

"It's called, being cautious."

The two of us munched on the sugar cookies and bagels, spending the three hours reading, and him mocking me for being childish enough for reading fanfictions.

After we step onto the platform, I take a deep inhale, smiling at my soulmate when he looks at me with one on his face, as well.

"It's a different feeling, to be home, right?"

I give him a nod, and we put on our bags, walking out of the train station.

"Aimee said you needed to buy a dress."

"Yeah. I'm not very picky when it comes to clothing, so anywhere would be fine." I say, pointing to a mall a couple blocks ahead.

"You're picky when it comes to stationary." He points out, as we walked ahead.

"Stationary is my life," I say, unable to control the dreamy look that appeared on my face.

"I saw that stack of notebooks in your book cupboard. You haven't touched the neater-looking ones, yet. I noticed that you use the more normal ones for schoolwork."

"That's because," I say, raising a finger to exaggerate my point, "I don't want to tarnish pretty notebooks with school stuff which I hate."

Semi doesn't stop snickering at me, even when we reach a shop that sold clothes.

While I went through the collections of dresses on display on the racks, Semi has his hands in his pockets, occasionally checking the price tag or the material of random clothing he came across.

"Een, what about this one?"

I put away a red-coloured dress I had in hand, looking over to where Semi stood. He has a black dress in hand, handing the hanger to me as I examined it.

"I'll try it on."

"Yeah. I'll wait."

I feel slightly nervous as I go to the changing room, trying the dress on which was, surprisingly, a perfect fit. Since I wasn't, at any age of my life, much interested in clothing, I didn't need more than a couple seconds to decide that this one was the one I needed.

"This dress is good," I call out.

"Oh. Then come out and show it to me." Semi's voice calls back, and I flush red.

"What?! No. You'll see it later."

"Een."

"Yes?"

"You still haven't taken your dress off, right?" He wants to know as if to confirm the fact.

"Y-Yeah. Why-"

I hear the metal of the curtain hoops slide as Semi pulls it off to a side and appears to view. I am mumbling gibberish to myself when he looks down at my dress with squinty eyes. A couple people pass by from behind, and I notice his ears twitching a little as he catches the sound.

Without another word, he steps inside the dressing room, and I stare wide-eyed while he closes the curtains again, dimming the lights inside again.

"Wait, get out-"

"Can you turn around?"

"What?!"

He has already taken hold of my shoulder turning me around as he examined the dress. For a guy, he seems quite interested in the piece of clothing I wore, and he gives a nod in approval.

"Yeah. You look good in black." He says when I turn back to face him. I raise both my hands to shoo him away, pressing them against his chest to push him out.

"Now go out, this is embarrassing," I mumble.

But really, saying something like that was a mistake on my part.

Because he doesn't budge when I push him away, as he stood and looked at me with an amused expression on his face.

"I can barely see your face right now," He has to say, taking my hands off from his chest, "But I can easily tell that it's red."

"Please just leave, you pervert." I hiss, turning around and taking the clothes I had been wearing earlier. I about to turn to face him when I feel a hand around my neck.

Before I can put two and two together, Semi pulls me closer to him, pressing his lips against mine. My clothes drop into a pile in surprise, and I find my eyes getting heavy-lidded as I slowly become lost once again. He lets out a hoarse breath as he moves away, a glare on his face before he spoke again.

"When did you even become friends with the orange Shrimp?" He wants to know, while I look up at him and caught my breath. I blink at him in confusion, shrugging as I bent down to pick up my clothes.

"Yesterday. He's a first-year, why are you getting so worked up?" I ask, finally letting out a soft breath and calming myself. He furrows his eyebrows at that, running a hand through his oddly-colored hair.

"I'm not getting worked up."

"And I told you not to kiss me like that. It isn't easy for me to recover." I mumble, mostly to myself. Semi's shoulders begin to go up and down as he laughed, and I kick his shin again.

"Ow. That's the second time today, stop it, you dumbass."

"No. You stop it. And go out. I need recovery."

Semi does not stop laughing, and he does not even move from his spot in front of me. Getting slightly irritated by how childish he was behaving, I begin to make my way out of the stall. He notices this and shakes his head.

"Okay, okay. I'll leave." He stops laughing, letting out a sigh. When I look at him with an irritated expression, he puts an arm around my neck again.

"I'm going to kiss you right now." He says, in a tone which I could only describe as a warning tone. My heart begins to race even before he starts to lean in, and really; Even if I had a day's worth of notice, I would not be able to get over the high of when Semi kissed me.

I wasn't sure how long we would have stood there if it wasn't for Semi's phone ringing loudly. He moves away with a jolt, letting out a loud sigh as he curses under his breath.

"I'm going out. You change." He has to say, swiping on his smartphone. Before he leaves, his gaze is fixed onto my face a little, before he rubs a finger at the corner of my lips.

"Hurry. I'm waiting for you."

Semi Eita knew a lot of ways to knock me over.

And from the smirk on his face when he saw my dumbfounded reaction, I could easily tell that he knew it.
