"Next, I'm going to douse him in oil and roll a rug over him and then set him on fire. And in case he survives, I'm gonna put him inside a big jar and throw him into the ocean full of sharks." Aimee's rambles continued, as she munched on stick after stick of Pocky.

"Aicchi, don't say that." Kanzaki has to say, shooting a nervous glance at me. I give out a loud sigh, before I put down my bookbag.

"Aimee, it's not funny anymore, you know," I mumble, sitting in front of her and crossing my legs. Aimee sits up and looks at me, a glare plastered over her face.

"He didn't talk to you for five days because you overslept. Anyone could oversleep, even him, you know."

"Yes, but stop blaming him. I'm the one responsible for this."

I can feel Kanzaki stiffen at what I said, because Aimee's shoulders begin to tremble, she was that mad.

"Een, do you hear yourself? I know you're happy with Semi because you've gone through a lot and finally got together and everything seems fine. But you need to stick true to how you feel, okay?"

I take a glance at Kanzaki, who seems to take the hint. She stands up, excusing herself before she motions for Hichimiya sitting at my desk. The two leave the room, closing the door behind them.

"Ai, stop asking me to stick true to how I feel when you aren't doing it yourself," I mutter quietly. Aimee's eyes go wide at my words, and she leans a little closer, her glare almost as scary as Semi's.

I didn't want to fight with Aimee, but she looked like she wanted to slap me.

"What do you mean? What are you trying to say? I'm doing this for you, Een, you're too blind with how you feel about Semi so you're just saying yes to whatever he has to say-"

"Aimee, I know what you're hiding from us, you know. I'm happy with Semi, but you aren't happy."

There is silence, silence just as painful as the one between me and Semi six days ago. I wondered if I was making a mistake, but when I see Aimee's eyes filling with tears, I could tell she just needed to talk about it.

"Ai-chan." I whisper, giving her a hug. It takes a few seconds before she starts to cry loudly.

How long had she been holding that?

I was thankful that I didn't let my uneasyness about Semi affect the way I approached my best friend with the question, even though it bothered me so much that she hated Semi so much when he had no fault.

"Please don't take your frustration out on Semi. I'm happy with him."

"But he's making you so sad."

"You know he and Oikawa are very different people. That's just the way he is, and there's no way he's going to be outgoing the way... Let's say, Satori, is. But in his own way, he cares about me. I know that well." I let her know, patting her hair.

"I've learned that. He just wants me to be a better person. I'd be disappointed if he was someone who just let me go on doing things I shouldn't be doing, just to not hurt my feelings."

My best friend of six years lets out a little sniff. I knew she wasn't crying about Semi, I knew exactly what was bothering her.

But that was the kind of person Aimee was. She would put other's worries before hers, which was why I had to clear out my problems with her before she would answer me about hers.

"Aimee, have you talked to Oikawa about how you feel?"

"What? Een, what are you saying?" She asks, moving away with a little glare.

"You're not in love with him. And Oikawa isn't in love with you, either. Even if you both are soulmates."

Aimee's face turns sour at me saying the words out so bluntly, and she takes in a deep breath. I glance at her wrist; she seriously had one of the most beautiful soulmate marks I had ever seen in my now nineteen years. It was a shame that it had to be Oikawa, who was her soulmate.

"Een, you didn't like Semi at first, either. And he took his sweet time to fall for you too, you know." Aimee says in her defense.

"That isn't wrong, but your case is different, Ai," I say, watching the way she stands up and goes to sit at my desk. She opens the drawer and takes out a wristband, putting it over her mark.

And that was confirmation enough for what I wanted to say to her.

"It's different because Semi and I weren't in love with other people, like you and Oikawa are right now."

More silence follows between us, and she rests her head on the table.

"Semi pisses me off so much."

"You're starting that again, Aimee," I say, standing up and reaching where she sat.

"Semi pisses me off, really. I'd punch him the way Tendou did that one time, I swear."

"Ai-"

"His soulmate is actually the person he loves. But he's shitting around. The person I like isn't my soulmate, and my own soulmate has someone else that he loves."

"Aimee..." I find myself tearing up at how sad she sounded. I felt like I should have talked about this with her earlier, but I had been caught up so much in my own problems that I didn't notice what she was going through.

I wanted to slap myself for being a terrible friend.

"That's why I get mad so easily at Semi. I mean, I know it isn't fair for me to. But Semi has it so easy. He actually has no soulmate problems. But he's still being such a jerk to you."

"Oh, Aimee." I give her a hug, which she accepts while wiping off her face.

"Do you want to come to the library with me? I'm going to go study with Eita."

"No. I don't like-"

"Aimee, please. He didn't really do anything wrong. And I want to talk to you about this."

And while she hesitantly packed her bag with a frown on her face, I can't help but think how beautiful she looked. She was such a nice person, one of my most reliable friends, and I loved her to bits.

And I hoped the person she liked would like her back, even though they weren't soulmates.

Because my best friend deserved that.
