"You're such a sucker for love."
I couldn't decide whether that was an insult or a greeting, but Hichimiya's arms wrap around my shoulder, tackling me into a hug as soon as she saw that it was me, knocking on the door.
"Hichimiya!"
"Eeeeeeeeeeeeen ehhh?!" Her singing turns to a screech as she moves away with a jolt.
"Semi?" There is a confused look on her face when she sees my soulmate placing my duffel bag down on the floor behind me. "Did you guys come back together?"
"Yeah," Semi answers before I could, making my blonde friend's eyes widen.
"Ooooooo."
"Hichi."
"Uh. I'll be off. See you at dinner, Een." He has to say, as he gives me a glance.
Dinner?
Did we really see each other at dinner that often, for him to say that?
"Um yes," I say before I see a hand reaching to grab the collar of Semi's shirt.
"Not so fast, hotshot, I have stuff to ask you." Hichimiya hisses. I pause in my attempt to drag the duffel bag inside our room, while Semi looks down at my friend in shock. Probably, no one has ever had the guts to grab a piece of his clothing before. What Semi didn't know, was that Hichimiya had guts to do way more than just that.
But at the moment, that was the least of our concerns.
"You're in class 1. So you probably suck at studies, don't you?"
"Oh my GOD Hichimiya!" I cry, running back outside. Semi's eyebrows are knitted together as he glares at her, and I could tell that he wasn't happy with the words she chose to use.
"I don't have the best grades in the world, yes." He finally responds. Hichimiya only claps her hands in response.
"Satori told me you're good at sciences, but you suck at language." She then grabs hold of my hand, pushing me out towards Semi. Both Semi and I raise our hands to stop from crashing into each other, after which Semi takes a step back and looks away.
"I'll kill Satori." I can hear him mumble under his breath when I get my balance back. I shoot a glare at Hichimiya, who is giving me a very disturbing wink.
"Een's the opposite; Good at language, but sucks balls at- OW." She rubs her waist in pain when I elbow her. "So I thought, why don't you guys study together? We have exams coming up."
"Hichimi-"
"Well, I won't say no. My grades aren't all that great for me to decline help like that." Semi speaks up, making both our glances dart back to the setter. "Een, you okay with it? I can't guarantee a good grade, but we can try."
Of course, I couldn't refuse either. How could I?
The smug look on my friend's face didn't leave, even after Aimee comes over and asks us how our holidays went by.

"Oh my dear lord in heaven. He didn't ask you to move in with him, you idiot." Aimee cries, horrified when she saw the amount of stationery that was cluttered on my bed. "You're just going to the library to study with him, dammit."
I couldn't help it. I always tend to overpack, and today was no exception.
Especially today.
"Just how many pens are you going to use up, Een?" Hichimiya jokes when she sees the six pens in black ink inside my purse.
"Shut up, both of you. " I hiss, tossing all of the stationary and notebooks into my bookbag. I had a few minutes until I had to meet Semi outside the library, and I didn't want him to wait long for me.
"Good luck, girl!" I hear them call right before I closed the door. I couldn't help but smile a little while I climbed downstairs, to head to the other wing of the building.
I was standing at the door of the library at sharp 5.30pm. According to our planning, we were going to split the subjects and spend a half hour on each of them, doing problems related to them, if time allowed us.
Semi shows up a little late, his hair still damp- he had obviously just finished showering.
"Ah, sorry. I ended up napping." He scratches his neck sheepishly, while he opened the door to the library for me.
"Like you did on the train?"
"Oh my God, how long will you keep bringing that up?" He hisses, placing his bookbag on the nearest table. He sinks into the chair, letting out a little exhale afterwards.
"Okay, let me teach you math."
•••
"Een, for the love of God. Stop using the Pythagoras theorem when this obviously isn't a right-angled triangle."
"Ohhhhh," I scribble the formula on my notebook, using my calculator to get the final answer. "Correct, now?"
"Mmm, yes. That's okay. Really now, what do you have inside that brain of yours besides every kind of dictionary on Earth?"
I find myself giving a pout, similar to the one he had on at the moment. I was starting to pick up some of his little habits which I found cute, but it didn't seem that way to Semi. He looks away when he sees my face, and mumbles something inaudible under his breath.
I still found it a little overwhelming, the fact that I was sitting beside my soulmate. The fresh scent of whichever shampoo he had used a while ago was no help, and I find myself having to use a hand to cover my face to hide my blushes that would occasionally come out of nowhere.
"I translated the sentences you asked me to," He speaks up, pushing his notebook towards me. Giving him a nod, I pick up my pen, ready to mark out the answers.
"Eita, yo!" A voice calls softly, making the two of us look up to a black-haired boy who stood next to Semi with a big smile on his face.
"Hamada, hey." Semi responds, instantly smiling at his friend. The two exchanged a fistbump, before the ravenette's gaze lands on me.
"Hello, Eita's Soulmate-chan." He waves to me, a big goofy grin spreading on his face. Before I could respond, he walks off, and I shoot a glance at Semi.
"Um..."
Soulmate-chan? That's such a cute name oh my gosh!
"Er, don't mind him. He likes to taunt people."
"I see...."
"That, or he would have just guessed you would freak out, thanks to that dopey expression on your face."
I knew that Semi wasn't saying that hurt my feelings, it was clear in the way he worded his thoughts. In fact, he even had a little grin on his face as he flicked my forehead. I find myself yelping in response.
"What are you, a sadist? You never fail to always tease me." I end up blurting out. I wasn't the only one whose eyes went wide at what I said so myself; Semi's pupils widen when he registers my words, furrow of his eyebrows knotting further when it sunk in.
"If I'm a sadist, then you're a masochist. You're always doing something or the other to get hurt, and then you end up crying."
I wasn't expecting a response from him, especially not the response he had given. I could feel my ears burning up at his choice of words, and the voice of snickering makes the two of us turn around and see Hichimiya and Tendou leaning against the bookshelf behind us.
"You both, most definitely, are soulmates, alright." Tendou has to say, while Hichimiya held her stomach and continued her laughing.
For the next few minutes, I was too flustered to speak to him, and it felt like he was, too.
But when the bell rang for the library to close up, I could see from the expression on Semi's face, that I wasn't the only one who didn't want our study session to end.
Semi made studying bearable.
