Aimee 'finds' her soulmate the very next day.

Her wish had been heard loud and clear; he lived all the way in Tokyo. Fukurodani, to be exact.

"I'm going. Wish me luck." She says, neatly putting a pack of tissues inside her handbag. Hichimiya and I wish her all the best, and she boards the bus.

"They grow up so fast," Hichimiya says beside me while we wave her goodbye.

"You talk as if you have a huge age gap with her," I say, to which she sighs loudly. "Come on, let's head back. We have to finish our Science assignments."

"Uwah, I hate chemistry." She responds as we walk back to the dorm.

Hichimiya squints at her bed which was cluttered with clothes and a lot of textbooks.

"Dang, Aimee forgot to clean our room up for us before she left."

Hichimiya was a disaster roommate, and I had my troubles, living in the same place as her.

"For starters," I say, picking up my bookbag, "We're going to the library. I can't concentrate here."

Hichimiya mumbles something under her breath while she gives me a nod. We take our books and lock the door before we head upstairs to the library.

Aimee hadn't told us the name of her soulmate yet, and the suspense was driving us insane. She had let us know that she wasn't sure if he really was her soulmate in the first place.

But then again, when her cousin calls and tells her that there's a classmate of hers whose marks were three hearts, I didn't have any room for suspicions.

"You do realise that we can't take food inside, do you?" I hiss, making my blonde friend almost drop her bag.

"H-How did you know?" She sweats in response when I snatch the chocolate bars she had, hidden in her bag.

Before I could turn back to head back to my dorm, the front door of the library opens. A boy from my Science class steps outside, and we make way to let him pass.

"Go and save us some seats while I take them back," I whisper. Hichimiya does not even glance my way. Her eyes are set on the doors.

Wondering what was wrong, I glance to where she was watching before I freeze in my spot; Stepping outside, following the boy whose name I didn't remember, was Semi Eita.

Semi stops walking as well.

"Reon, wait a sec." He calls, and the boy in front of him comes to a halt. Semi turns to face me, blinking a couple times.

"Fujiwara."

Ah, dropping the suffixes right off the bat?

"Fujiwara," He repeats before he points an accusing finger at me.

"Why are you taking food into the library?"

I wanted to cry.

Of all the times he could see me, why does he always find me at the times when he can misunderstand the situation the most?

"That's not allowed." He adds, taking the bars from my hand. I stay still as he hurries up to reach Reon. I knew that if I tried to say anything, I was going to croak, or worse, burst into sobs.

"I'll give them to you after you're finished studying." He promises.

Semi's sneakers let out squeaks as he walks along with his friend, and all I can do is blink at his back with a sour feeling in my chest.

I sincerely hoped that Aimee had better luck communicating with her soulmate than I did with Semi.

"Een, I'm so sorry!" Hichimiya cries for the ten-hundredth time. I raise a finger to my lips, as we head out from the library.

"Eeeeeeeeeeeen." She cries softly, following me outside. "On a more serious note, Semi better gimme back my chocolates."

"On a more 'serious' note? That's what you're worried about?"

"Fujiwara?"

Sitting on the bench outside the library is Reon, a smartphone in hand.

"Ah. Oohira?" I question, tilting my head towards him. He nods, glancing at Hichimiya for a second. I wasn't sure what happened, but Hichimiya runs off without another word.

"Eh?!"

"Got a minute? It's about Eita."

I give him a hesitant nod and sit on the bench beside him. Reon takes the notorious bars of chocolates from his bookbag and hands them to me. I flush as I recalled what happened earlier with my soulmate.

"It's okay. Eita is like that." Reon tries to comfort me, while I sit, shuddering. "You're his soulmate, right?"

"I... guess so."

"Huh? Can I see your wrist?"

I hold up my left hand, slightly embarrassed about how things were turning out. Even Reon would be surprised that someone so attractive and talented like Semi would get paired up with someone clumsy, whiny, and irrelevant, like me.

"You have the same mark as him. Why are you hesitant?"

"Well, it's just...." I mumble, not knowing what to say next. Reon raises an eyebrow, perplexed expression still plastered on his face.

"You feel insignificant?"

This makes me turn my head to face him instantly; it felt like he exactly read my mind.

"Well, Eita feels insignificant every day." He lets me know with a smile. "Did you know that he was the official setter of the team until this year?

"I... didn't..." I am at a loss for words as I blink up at him in shock. "He got replaced?"

"Yes. By a second-year. I'm not being biased because he is a close friend of mine, but he's a great setter. A genius, I would add." Reon zips his bag, draping the strap over his shoulder as he spoke. "But Kenjirou is just as good a player as Eita is."

"I see..."

"He's always feeling insignificant, and he only has his serves now. He practices serving more than anyone else in the entire school would... I think it's even safe to say that he practices it more than anyone in the entire Miyagi prefecture."

I recall Semi practising outside late at night as well. He had been serving, even then too.

He was trying so hard...

"So you have no reason to feel insecure about yourself. Eita understands, and to him, you aren't insignificant, not even in the least bit." Reon stands up, glancing at me while I follow him.

"He even waited out here for you to finish, you know." He adds.

"E-Eh?"

"He doesn't back out on promises." Reon has to say, pointing to the bars of chocolates in my hand. "He was waiting to give it to you. He got called out by the Coach, that's why he made me stay here to give you those, instead of himself."

To think that he would go through all that trouble for me... And all of the new things I learned about him, makes me smile a little.

"He'd go that far, huh?"

"Of course. You're his soulmate, after all."

I really was in need of the smile I had on my face, for the rest of the day.
