My dad was unsympathetic towards Takeru.

Everything was wrong.

Riku came to visit him at our house, and I had to tell him a little white lie. This was really hard on me, since he was innocent and had no idea what was wrong. And not just that, Riku had this thing about him that made me want to protect him from everything bad.

Kind of like Hinata.

I had missed three days of classes, and Semi had told me how the school could not give me any further extensions.

Stress was making me overthink and over-worry. Between constantly thinking up of things to say to my Dad, actually saying them to him, and getting shot down each time, I was starting to get not just mentally tired, but physically, as well.

"Sweetie, will you be okay to take that on your own?" Mom wants to know, on Wednesday evening. She had made some daifuku and packed some leftovers, asking me to take it to Semi's household.

I completely ran out of energy by the time I dragged myself to the porch of the house. Semi's Mom greets me with a smile, and I enter the house to see Takeru sitting at the desk in the living room.

"Hi," I say, placing the bag beside him. Semi's Mom sits beside me, and I see that Takeru was doing an assignment.

"A deadline?"

"No. This isn't due in 3 weeks."

"Wow, you're doing a project way ahead? That's unlike you."

Takeru has a slightly offended tone in his voice when he spoke with an irritated look in his eyes.

"I will study. And I will get accepted to college, like you. I can stay at college and not be a bother."

Semi's Mom and I exchange a glance, before she asks if I would mind helping her a little with the dishes. I pat my brother's hair a little till he swats me away, and I walk into the kitchen where she has started to wash the dishes.

"I'm sorry you had to agree to this."

"It's fine, Een. Don't worry. Takeru is nice company to have around." She lets me know, handing me a plate. "He's like a splitting personality of Eita."

"Well, you aren't wrong about that," I laugh, drying the plate with a piece of cloth.

"He told me about what happened, and I'm so sorry. I hope you get to crack that old-fashioned geezer."

We both laugh a little, and she asks me to follow her upstairs.

For the next hour, I sit with my soulmate's mother, while she showed me pictures of him when he was younger.

Semi's Mom was one of the best people to go to, to relieve your stress, that I learned for sure. With the satisfaction that I had enough pictures of Semi on my smartphone to blackmail him... That Semi's Mom had grown fond of my little brother... That Takeru was trying hard on his end...

I leave it to our fates to decide our happiness.

Because, in the end, we really were trying, all of us.

I had told Semi that I was coming back to Sendai, but I hadn't told him when, even though he asked me to. He had claimed that he was going to get yelled at, by Aimee, if he didn't pick me up at the train station.

Which I thought was funny, but he had his own practice to do. I didn't want to interrupt that.

Dragging my shoulder bag, I find myself a taxi and head back to Shiratorizawa.

Seeing the school made me nostalgic.

It hit me then, that there was less than two weeks for graduation.

And even though I was happy that Semi and I would be going to the same place, all the memories that I had made here... All the friends I made here, every little thing...

I was going to miss that beyond words.

When I climb the flight of stairs up to my dorm room, I find Tendou playing a game from his handheld console, while Hichimiya lies beside him, eating chocolate.

But that wasn't what caught my eye.

What caught my eye was Semi, sitting at my desk, writing something.

"OH!" Hichimiya gets up on her feet, running up to hug me before Semi could even stand up.

"EEN!" She yells, and I laugh when she pops a bit of the chocolate she had been eating earlier into my mouth.

"Een-chan, are you okay?" Tendou wants to know, pressing pause on his game. I glance at Semi, who has a crooked smile on his face when he approaches me.

"Hi..." I say, and Semi glances at Tendou and Hichimiya. Next, he steps infront of me, blocking their view before he places a hand on my head.

"How was the train?"

Before I can respond, Tendou dramatically sinks onto the floor, while Hichimiya slams a hand on the door in frustration.

"First thing he asks after meeting her in three days is how the train was. For crying out loud, tell her you missed her, Eita."

"S-Shut up." Semi hisses, glaring at the two.

"Aimee-chan would kill him if she was here." Tendou laughs.

"Can you guys just leave us alone?" Semi furrows his eyebrows in irritance. This makes the couple stand up on their feet, exiting right away after giving up smirks. Semi is sighing before turning to me.

"They always have that in mind," He facepalms, "Anyway. Any luck with the jerk?"

I don't respond, instead putting my bag down on the floor. I look up to see his face, and close my eyes.

"Can you hug me?"

"What?"

"Can you," I repeat, emphasizing each words slowly, this time, "Hug me?"

"I... Sure."

Without any other word, he wraps an arm around my shoulder, pulling me into his arms.

It was cold outside, but Semi made me feel warm, despite that.

"Een. You have a fever."

"No I don't." I respond.

"You have a fever." He repeats, starting to lean away. I hook my arms around his neck a little tighter and he freezes a bit.

"Don't. Just wait for a while. I'm fine."

There is a long pause, before he tightens his embrace around me.

"Er. I don't know when. But it'll be okay. Your Dad will come around some time. And Fujiwara can stay for as long as he has to."

"Mmm. Thank you. And please don't call him Fujiwara. You used to call me that, before." I say, when he leans away a little.

"Oh yeah."

"You were like, 'Fujiawara, what the fuck' all the time."

"Well, 'Een, what the fuck' sounds so much better." He chuckles. I laugh a little, going over to my desk.

"My mom made some daifuku for us. She really loved the ones your mom made."

Semi watches the way I take out the box, commenting on how he thought our moms would really get along. When I open the box, his eyes widen, before he glances at me.

"I'll be back in a second." He has to say, stepping outside. Confused, I sit down at the desk, taking a bite out of the soft rice cake.

I am turning myself around in the swiveling chair, when Semi gives a knock, before opening the door.

"Here," he has to say, placing a paper bag beside the daifuku box. He catches his breath, sinking into the chair beside mine and takes one of the desserts.

"What's this?" I ask, reaching for the bag. When I open it, I let out a gasp.

There were three notebooks inside, thick notebooks with beautiful hardcovers each wrapped in different beautiful cloth and designs.

I couldn't hold my excitement.

"What is this? They're so pretty!" I cry, opening the pages. One of the books was even made from parchment paper, and I could barely sit still.

"It's March 14th. White day. Thank you for the chocolates on Valentine's day, Een."

"Oh."

Semi has an amused expression on his face while I put the notebooks into clear plastic bags.

"I'm going to use these notebooks for college." I say, and he has a pleased look on his face. After I put them on my shelf beside the couple manga volumes I have, I sit back down to interrogate my soulmate.

"So. First question. Why notebooks?"

"Een, I asked your mom what the best present for you would be. She told me notebooks, so why not?"

I blink at him in shock, shaking my head at the thought.

"And besides, you have that stack of books that you aren't using, just because you think they're 'too pretty to be written on'. So." He finishes, reaching for another rice cake.

"I'm pretty sure you wouldn't have picked them out yourself. Admit it. Who did you take with you, to pick them out? Tendou? Hichi? Or both? Or Kanz-"

"Aimee."

"What. What?!"

"Yeah."

"Aimee went with you? Aimee, the queen?!" Semi makes a face when my voice squeaks at the last word.

"Why are you so surprised? I asked her if she would do me a favor to surprise you, she called me a jerk, but agreed to it. If I leave aside the insults, she isn't a bad person, I guess."

I couldn't help but laugh at the thought of Aimee and Semi trying to get along. But I was happy that they did, even though Semi admits that she made him carry some of the bags of stuff she had bought.

"In all seriousness. Thanks for everything, Een. Thanks for the support. I can't think of a single day when you didn't motivate me."

"Awwww, Eita, that's so sweet. Did you start reading romance novels?" I joke, still feeling a little touched. Semi rolls his eyes, taking hold of my swiveling chair and pulling it towards him.

"I didn't read romance novels," He has to say, smirking when he sees my slightly flustered face, "I just missed your face."

"That is a very lame compliment. But thank you. I missed your face too." I say.

And then, the two of us finished the rest of the daifuku, before we rested on the floor, too full to go to dinner.
