25.
"So, how are you doing today?" Jin asked looking at Yoongi.
"Oh, just great. Got a broken arm, can't jerk off, the fucking patients in the waiting room can't mind their business, and I ran into a table this morning so there's a cut on my shin. So, you know living the life."
"Wow, okay. Can I see that cut?"
"Sure. Go ahead." Yoongi said raising his leg in the air. Jin smiled, "No, no. You can put it down. Don't worry."
"Cool." He replied uninterested. Jin kneeled down to pull up his pant leg. "What is this?" Jin asked.
"I did that to stop the bleeding."
Jin sighed looking at the napkin around his shin with grey tape around it. "Alright, next time can you not do this? The circulation to your leg can be cut off and you don't want your leg to fall off, do you?"
"Well, no. What else was I suppose to do? My friends have jobs and they can't come take care of me."
"How about family? Mom? Dad? Sibling?" He asked as he slowly unwrapped the tape. "They live in another town. My mom would freak out if I told her I'm broken. I'm an independent guy. I don't need assistance."
"Mhmm," Jin commented almost rolling his eyes. He was finally able to get the tape and napkins off. "Oh, yeah. It's not that big, but it will need to be disinfected. I will have to let the provider look at it first."
"Alright." He shrugged
Jin got up and looked down at him, "By the way, I'm probably going to be the one taking care of you now."
Yoongi rolled his eyes, "Yeah, yeah. I was expecting this. Jimin is a fucking wimp. Always running away from his problems. However, I'm still madly in love with him. Can you tell him that I adore him either way?"
Jin blinked nervously, "I-I don't know what you're—"
"He had to tell you about my love confession and him running away."
"Fine. He did tell me. That's why this should be strictly professional. He could get in trouble."
"No, the only way he could get in trouble is if he told me patient information or like stole medication for me or some shit. He's too righteous to do any of those. He's just afraid that he will like me back."
"I don't think we should talk about this. Let's focus on your office visit, alright?"
"Okay." He replied calmly.
Jin was inpatient to get out of the room and tell Jimin everything that Yoongi had said. "Any other concerns?" He asked.
"Nope. That's all."
"Great. He will be in shortly." He told pushing the vitals machine out of the room. Then, he sprinted to the room.
"What did he say?" Jimin wondered.
"What makes you think he said something?"
"Uh, because I know he did."
"Nothing important." He replied taking a seat.
"Stop playing. What did he say?"
"That depends."
"On what? What do you want?" He asked crossing his arms over his chest.
"Maybe, you can buy me a pizza for lunch. I don't know."
Jimin rolled his eyes, "This is bullshit, but okay. You have to get lunch tomorrow though!"
"Okay, okay. So, he said you were a little bitch running away from him."
"What? He called me that?"
"Well, not exactly. That's what he was basically implying though."
"What were his exact words?"
"He said you were a wimp running away from him cause you were afraid that you will fall for him. Oh, and that he still adores you either way."
"That's-that's not true!" He replied offended trying to ignore the last sentence.
"Uh, yeah. It is."
"You're-you're my best friend! You have to take my side!"
"If that's not true then why'd you ask me to triage him?"
He opened his mouth to defend himself, but couldn't find the words. "Exactly." Jin finished.
"Whatever."
"Now, excuse me I have to go tell the doctor about his wound."
"What wound?" He wondered panicked.
Jin raised an eyebrow, "Oh, I thought you didn't want to know nothing about him."
"I don't. I just want to know one thing. Is it his broken arm?"
"No."
"Ah, okay. Umm, one more question."
"Go on."
"Where is the wound?"
"On his shin."
"Oh, okay."
"Any more questions before I leave?"
"No. That's all."
"You're going to want to disinfect it. Right?"
Jimin rolled his eyes, "I'm going to gather the supplies."
•••
Jimin knocked on the door. "Come in." He heard Yoongi say. Before walking in, he took a deep breath.
"I'm here to disinfect your wound." He said looking down at the floor.
Yoongi smirked, "Okay."
"Alright. Let me take a look at it first." He said grabbing some gloves. Yoongi kept quiet and didn't say a word.
The silence and tension was driving Jimin crazy. He wanted him to say something so he wouldn't have to.
"Okay, I'm cleaning the area first." He told.
"Okay."
Jimin bit the inside of his lip. Okay? Is that all you can say? He thought to himself. "I'm applying this ointment on it. I have a couple of samples here. You'll need someone to change the dressing on it. It should go away in a couple of days."
"Okay."
Jimin stopped applying he ointment and looked up annoyed. "Okay? That's all?"
"What else do you want me to say?"
"Why're you talking behind my back?"
"I'm not." He replied calmly.
"Yes, you are." He sternly said.
Yoongi winced, "Ow. It's too tight." He said. Jimin immediately loosen the bandage around his shin.
"This is why we can't bring personal issues to the office."
"Who's bringing personal issues here? You're the one arguing."
Jimin straightened up taller even though he was still on his knees. "You're the one talking about me."
"You look so beautiful on your knees like that."
He turned a bright red and sat back down looking at the ground. "See! You're bringing personal issues to this conversation."
"I just gave you a compliment. A thank you would be nice. Also, your friend is the one starting all of this. He claimed he wasn't going to talk about it yet he ran and told you."
"Then why did you tell him if you knew he would?"
"Because if I hadn't then I wouldn't have seen you today."
Jimin looked up and relaxed at his soft tone of voice. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be rude." He mumbled apologetically.
"It's okay. Are you going to finish wrapping my shin?" He grinned.
"Yes. I will. Listen, I don't want you to keep hurting yourself. You're either stabbing your self with a fork, falling off tables or running into them. You have to be careful, please."
"I'm clumsy. I can't help it."
"Just try to be more careful. Alright?"
He nodded with a smile, "Of course. Anything for you."
Jimin finished with the bandage and pulled his jeans down. Then he got up to throw the trash away.
"Here's some samples. You need to tell your friend to help you change that. He wants to see you back in two weeks."
"Alright. That's fine. I told your nurse friend I need refills on my anxiety meds."
"They've been sent. I checked before coming in here."
Yoongi timidly smiled. He cares. Jimin cleared his throat and looked away before he blushed again.
"Hey, I know I'm a mess and pretty unstable, but I'm in love with you."
"Yoongi..." he whispered timidly.
"It started when I saw you for the first time, then your name, your smile and eyes, your voice and how you slowly erased every bad memory I've ever had. I'm sorry. It was pretty inevitable to not fall in love with you."
Jimin was quiet, but heard his heartbeat in his ears. He thought it was so loud that maybe even Yoongi could hear it.
"Meet me at the skateboard park downtown tomorrow afternoon. Not the new one. The old abandoned one. I know it sounds creepy as hell, but I won't hurt you I promise. You can bring your pepper spray or whatever you want. We can talk there and it won't be in this setting. You won't have to worry about involving this in your professional life. Until then, Jimin. Thank you for cleaning my wound."
Jimin stood frozen. He was speechless yet again.
