"Are you fucking kidding me? You're already late as it is!" Megan was currently on the phone with Peter, who was apologizing about not being able to come into work. Something about being in detention, which was total bullshit because Megan doesn't recall him getting detention today.

"Meg, I'm sorry-"

"I don't wanna hear any apologizes." She said, practically fuming. "Peter, you are absolutely the most unreliable person to work with!"

"Then why haven't you quit yet?" If only he had said that to her face, cause she would've put him in his place so quick.

"Whatever! You drive me fucking crazy!" Megan yelled. "Why haven't YOU quit yet?"

"Uh, I gotta go!" Peter quickly said, glass breaking in the background.

"Pete- Great, he hung up." She sighed, putting her phone in her pocket. If only she knew earlier, now she's stuck by herself, and Johnny, of course. He was so lucky that the diner wasn't busy today.

Since it wasn't busy, Megan had some time to do some homework. Typically she tries finishing as much as she can during her lunch period, but it wasn't easy being an honors student.

Liz had shown up, which was a rare occurrence. She was usually busy with the decathlon or student council, so something was most likely wrong.

"Megan!" Liz called. "Is Peter here? I know he works here."

Clearly there was an issue, but there wasn't really any way Megan could help. "I was just on the phone with him a few minutes ago saying he couldn't come in. Detention, I guess. Sorry, Liz."

"Okay, that's fine." She took a deep breath. "Thanks anyway."

She ran out the diner, almost tripping a little in the process, but caught herself in perfect timing. Megan didn't know what was wrong, so she just assumed it was decathlon related.

Getting back to her homework, Megan was lucky enough to be able to finish most of it without any interruptions, since most of the time she was stuck tending to customers. Plus, she didn't have Peter and Ned being annoying as always.

It was dark out, and it was just left to Megan and Johnny. She closed up the diner, then said goodbye to Johnny, who once again didn't speak a word.

Both her parents weren't able to pick her up, again, so she had to walk home alone. Even though it wasn't safe, she didn't particularly have a choice in the matter.

The city was quiet, not much was going on. There were some people still out, plus some taxi's driving by. Megan could sense someone walking behind her, but she didn't dare try turning around.

She heard the footsteps from behind for the next 5 minutes, she even tried taking a different route home, but she was still being followed. She decided enough was enough, and turned around to see what was going on.

Nothing.

Except it wasn't nothing. A random man grabbed her from behind, trying to get a hold of her. Megan kicked and screamed for help, but there wasn't a single person around. He was trying to snatch her bag, but she wouldn't let it happen. "Get the fuck off of me!"

"Hey! You heard the lady!" A voice called out. To Megan's surprise, it was Spider-Man. The man took out a gun, and pressed it against her head. "I'll shoot!"

"Yeah, not gonna happen." He said. His webs grabbed onto the gun, and was taken out of the attacker's hand. Megan was taken out of his grip, and she immediately fell to her knees. Everything had happened so fast, she completely forgot how to function for a moment.

He got a hold of the attacker, and tied him up with his webs. She called the police, under Spider-Man's orders, and then they were quickly on their way.

The man was arrested almost immediately, and taken to the police station. She was asked questions about the ordeal, then they let her go home once they got all the information they needed.

Leaving the station, the unknown hero was standing outside. Megan was standing next to an police officer, who was about to drive her home. "I got this, officer."

The officer didn't bother saying otherwise, and just walked back inside. She walked up to him, still oblivious that it was actually Peter right in front of her. "I- I don't know how to thank you."

"There's no need." He said, a smile forming under his mask.

Tears were still going down her face, as she was still in shock by the whole thing. Megan hugged him without saying anything, which shocked Peter, but he had to remind himself that she still wasn't aware. "Hey, hey, it's okay."

Megan thought she recognized that voice.

She let go of his embrace, wiping away a few tears. "I shouldn't have done that, I don't usually hug strangers."

"I wouldn't consider myself a stranger." He hinted, but she didn't catch on. "So, need a lift?"

"Uh, yeah." Megan sniffled.

"Do you trust me?"

"What?" She questioned. Why was a superhero asking if she trusted him?

"I said do you trust me?" He repeated, making sure he was speaking loud enough.

"Is this like some Aladdin shit-"

"Do I have to ask again?" She quickly shook her head and answered his question. "I trust you."

"Hold onto me." She jumped onto him, wrapping her legs around his waist, while her arms were wrapped around his neck. "We're gonna go pretty high, okay?"

"Okay." She spoke quietly. It was odd, she felt comfortable, but she kept telling herself that didn't even know this man. When in reality, she actually did.

Without another warning, they went up, swinging across many buildings. It was shockingly not scary for the girl, mainly because she felt safe now.

The two were pretty high up, and there were moments where she thought they would fall and die. This moment honestly couldn't feel any more like Aladdin in Megan's head. But it's whitewashed and she's clinging onto some guy in a tight spider suit. "Holy shit!"

Landing in front of Megan's house, she let go of him, taking a deep breath. They stared at each other for a moment, Megan trying to see who it really was, except she didn't have any luck. "Thank you, again."

"No problem." And with that, he swung away, literally.

Megan, completely blown away, couldn't believe that just happened.
