Same trigger warning as last time

---

Janus eyed his phone warily, shifting every so often as his fingers hesitated over the green "Call" button. The contact of his younger brother blared right through his soul, and Janus didn't even realize his hand was shaking before it was suddenly grabbed by Logan, knocking Janus out of his trance.

"Babe," He starts. "It's okay." He assures him, coupling his cheek.

"I just..." He starts, nearly choking on his words. "It's been Ten years...what do I say?"

"You'll know what to say," Logan assures him. He gently lifted him onto his lap, wrapping his arms around his waist. Janus flushed as the loud pull-up crinkled under him, and he wiggled a little. It was around his bedtime, Remus has retired to his room as well, though, they doubted he was sleeping. Janus knows Virgil's awake, he's a night owl, always has been. Ever since Remus has been welcomed to stay, Logan has decided that during their nights Janus is to be pampered and dressed appropriately, which is why he's wearing Toy Story Pajamas with a lightning Mcqueen on them.

Breathing in deeply, Janus hit the button, bringing the phone to his ear anxiously.

It rang once.

Twice.

Three times.

Four-

"Hello?"

Janus swallowed at the all too familiar voice, letting out a shaky breath. "Hey, Virge."

The line went quiet, and he could practically see the glare his brother was probably giving him. "What do you want?" He demands firmly through the phone.

"Listen," He starts, attempting not to move too much. "You remember Remus?"

"What about him?" Virgil continues, his tone remaining harsh and guarded.

"He needs a place to stay," Janus says, running his free hand up and down his pants, wiping off the sweat.

"And this involves me because...?"

"Well," Janus starts. "Patton and Roman have three kids, Remy and Emile are on their honeymoon, and Logan and I aren't financially stable enough to bring in a third person..." Janus rushes, taking a deep breath. "So I was wondering if he could stay with you."

"No."

"Virgil," Janus begs. "Please, c'mon, he's been a shitty place and all he needs is to get back on his feet." He insists. "I know we didn't end on the best foot...and I'm not going to sit here and tell you about how much I've changed. I...just please. I know I don't deserve it but do me this favor." Janus would understand if he said no, but God, he was hoping he said yes.

The line was silent for a while.

Then Virgil sighed.

"Fine."

"Fine?"

"Yes, Fine, don't make me regret this." Grumbles Virgil grumpily and Janus felt his shoulders slump in relief.

"Virgil thank you-"

"I'm not doing it for you," He says harshly. "I'm doing it for Remus, not to mention he's Roman's brother." He says, huffing through the phone. "I'm doing it for them. Not you. You can drive him here Friday." That is all that is said between the brothers before the younger one hangs up. Sighing, Janus allowed his phone to fall. Logan, who had heard the entire situation, rubbed at his hip, attempting to comfort him.

"Why don't we watch Maleficient?" The caregiver suggests, bouncing the smaller in headspace, earning a nod.

"Do you want a sippy cup of angel milk too?"

Janus, whose eyes are watering, nods again, his bottom lip trembling.

"Alright buddy, I'll get you some angel milk and we'll watch a movie. I'll even make popcorn."

Janus rubbed at his eyes and felt entirely grateful that he has Logan.

---

After a night of comfort and cuddles, Janus is curled up in a big fluffy blanket, pull-up unsurprisingly wet, and Logan has his arms wrapped around him protectively as they slept.

Remus however, wasn't sleeping as peacefully, so he went to bug Janus, just as he always does. He peeks in, but because it's dark, he can't see the many childish items laying around.

"Psst," He whispers loudly, knowing Janus is a light sleeper. "Janus!"

Janus stirs and grumbles sleepily before blinking into the darkness, scowling at the fact that he has been woken before the sun came up.

"What?" He grumbles.

"Can I..." Remus hesitates. "Nevermind..."

Janus raises an eyebrow into the darkness, carefully sitting up, barely registering the damp pull-up sagging in between his legs. "No, what is it?"

"It's stupid."

"Remus," Janus says firmly. One would argue he had no right to use this tone in such attire.

"I," He starts before sighing. "I can't sleep."

Janus blinked and suddenly understood. "Oh, you wanna hang out?"

"Please."

Janus chuckled, moving to climb out of bed when he froze, the cold, wet feeling at his crouch reminding him of his silly predicament. "How about you get a movie and popcorn going and I'll meet you? I have to piss."

Even with the pitch-black scenery, Janus could tell Remus was smiling. "Sure!" He chirps, too excited to question it. He headed out, merrily getting a horror movie on and starting some popcorn.

Janus carefully slid out of bed as Remus left, the bed creaking annoyingly loudly. He tiptoed to the drawer, using his phone flashlight to quickly grab some underwear and pajama pants before rushing off to the bathroom. He cleaned himself up and crept past a snoring Logan, quietly closing the door behind him as he left.

As he makes it to the living room, he smiles as Remus lays his head on the back cushion, his legs pressed to his chest with arms wrapped around them. Janus heads over, popping a few kernels in his mouth before plopping down next to Remus, resting his head against his shoulder. He and Remus have their own, special bond. Many people have thought they were dating, and the two would look at each other and crack up.

The thought of him and Remus dating had occurred to him, in high school. In fact, Remus was his first kiss and first boyfriend. They didn't date for long though, and quickly realized that their friendship was far better, and honestly, they act as if they had never technically "dated".

Not once since then has he seen Remus as any more than a friend, well, a brother at this point, and he likes it that way.

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you about Arnet," Mumbles Remus after a while of silence as the movie played, Janus had begun to nod off when he spoke. Glancing up, Janus raised an eyebrow.

"Remus, you don't have to be sorry. You lost my number."

"I...I know but," He starts, sighing. "I was embarrassed."

Janus sits up, shaking his head. "Remus, you don't-"

"I do," He insists, shifting. "I was embarrassed because," He starts, swallowing harshly. "Because I've always been the one that no one messed with high school because I would kick your ass ya know? I was the one people were scared of. I made sure no one even thought about hurting you or Roman," He explains, running a hand through his hair. "And then Arnet came along and he," Remus chokes a little, tugging at the newly dyed hair of his. "He was nice at first, he liked how weird and chaotic I was. But then it was like something just snapped. He started being controlling, monitoring who I hung out with, where I went, he didn't let me dye my hair or keep it long," He mumbled, his eyes beginning to water.

"Remus..."

"We started to fight and then he hit me Jan," He says in a whisper, tears beginning to slide down his cheeks. "I didn't think he would actually hit me. I wanted to leave, I tried to, but then he said if I did he would frame me! He said it would be really easy too because of my history of violence and theft," Remus sniffles and Janus listens. "Finally he got sick of me and kicked me out, how pathetic. I'm so fucking pathetic," He sobs, his face crumbling in emotional distress.

"Remus, no," Janus demands, gently turning him to face him. "You are not pathetic. Arnet is a coward, he's pathetic, hiding behind a badge. Without that, he has nothing, and he knows that. That's why he used that against you and threatened you. He wanted power and control over you because he has none over himself." Janus explains. "You are so strong, I'm so proud of you Ree," He tells him genuinely, tugging him into a hug, which the man gladly accepted, freely sobbing for the first time in a while on his friend's shoulder.

Janus held him until they had both passed out on the couch.

Logan totally did not take pictures in the morning.
