Curiously, Janus tip-toed closer to the front door, hiding behind the stairs as Logan stared, eyes blown wide in shock at his near reflection. With furrowed eyebrows, Janus tilted his head, still very much in little space.

"M'didn't know you had a twin," Janus slurred.

Chuckling, Logan decided to humor him. "My apologies, his name is Landon."

Mirroring Logan with the familiar name, Janus' mouth fell open.

Holy shit! Daddy has a twin?! I thought he was joking!

"What are you doing here?" Logan asks, now frowning as his brother offered a lopsided smile.

Janus glanced over his twins' appearance. He definitely looks similar to Logan, however, Logan keeps himself clean and organized, judging by his crooked V-neck and unkempt hair, he didn't share his systematic tendencies. He could pick out his lover from the other easily.

"Well Lorie talked to ya about mom didn't she?" He asks, stepping into the home uninvited, earning an annoyed glance from Logan as he shut the door behind him.

"I want nothing to do with that woman Landon," Logan snips. He then snaps his fingers and points to Landon's muddy shoes. "Shoes off! I don't need you getting mud all over the floors and carpet."

Janus snorted. Logan is such a mom.

Landon seemed to think so too as he rolled his eyes and kicked off his shoes to the side. Janus noticed the specks of dirt scattered across the ground and just knew it was driving Logan insane. "Yes mother," Landon remarks sarcastically, smirking as Logan scoffed.

"Honestly, I can't comprehend how we're not only the same age but related; that we're twins."

"Well, look in the mirror then, maybe that'll help ya understand it."

With a glare, Logan begins walking towards Janus' hiding spot and he scurries back to the living room. He glanced around and kicked his toys to the side before plopping down on the couch. He was at least glad he had been in an older headspace, he didn't have to worry about having a pull-up on or far more childish toys on the ground. There are mostly legos scattered about and piled instead.

He watched as Logan's expression softened as he walked into the living room and their eyes met. As Landon followed, he raised a curious eyebrow at the other. "Who's that?" He asks bluntly, pointing to Janus, who rolled his eyes in return.

"Oh I definitely don't live here or anything," Janus sarcastically remarks, pushing his headspace down even though it whined at him. Today was supposed to be a little day, not a meet-your-twin-brother day.

"Oh, so you're a hobo?" Landon asks with a smirk, earning a smack to the back of his head.

"Stop it, this is my boyfriend Janus. Janus, this is my twin, Landon," Logan explains, sighing softly.

"Really? I thought you were standing in front of a fun house mirror."

"Fuck off-"

"Landon," Logan snips. "I don't appreciate that type of language in my home, if you're going to show up unannounced the least you can do is abide by that," He lectures, ignoring his twin's eye roll. As for Janus, Logan sent him a silent pointed look. Understanding the message, Janus resisted the urge to pout and subtly slumped.

"Why's he here?" Janus asks, shifting slightly as his gaze fell on Landon. He hadn't met many twins, Remus and Roman were the only pair that came to mind. He found it interesting how two people can look so alike, and yet, act so different. But then again, they're two separate people so it makes sense.

"Because Logan-"

"-doesn't want anything to do with her. I don't want to talk about it," Logan interrupts abruptly.

Frowning, Janus turns towards Logan. "Anything to do with who? Why are you be so secretive?"

"I'm not being secretive-"

"Then why don't you just tell me? Is it about the phone call earlier-"

"Janus," Logan says with an irritated sigh, pinching at the bridge of his nose. "It's a complicated situation."

Janus stared at him with a deadpan expression. "Don't insult my intelligence, you're not the only smart one." Landon snorted at that one.

"Finally someone told him, he's always been, mister know-it-all."

"I have not," Logan insists, huffing at his twin. "And alright, my mother is a drug addict to put it simply," Logan bluntly states. Quickly, the air grew thicker and Landon's expression stilled.

"Oh."

"Yes, and she's reaching out for family support for her fourth time in rehab and I decline," Logan insists, glaring at his twin who frowned.

"Logan I think she means it this time-"

"Bullshit," Snaps Logan. "She had three chances. I gave her three chances. Each one she failed and went back to shooting heroin and popping pills. I refuse to involve myself with her any further. I spent years cleaning up her mess of a life and I'm in a comfortable position not only financially but also mentally. If you four want to help her when she had little to do with raising you then fine but don't come crying to me again when she only continues to repeat her actions."

Landon clenched his jaw at his twin's speech and glared at him. "I can't believe how selfish you're being! She's our mom-"

"Correction," Logan snaps, holding up a hand. "She's our mother. The only thing that woman has done for us is given birth to us."

"She gave us a home! Food and water—"

"The bare necessities," Logan growls, growing frustrated by his twin's devoted feelings towards their mother. "And let's not even mention how the second I was old enough, I helped pay the bills, I had to hide mom's money so she wouldn't blow it all on drugs, I cleaned the house and kept food on the table. What did she do?"

Landon clenched his fists. "You liar!"

Logan narrowed his eyes. "Falsehood. I am not a liar. When was she ever home Landon?" He demands before scoffing. "Oh right, you wouldn't know, would you? You were never home! You were always with your friends getting high off your ass—"

"Logan," Janus interrupts calmly, standing from his spot. Logan didn't realize his hands were quaking until Janus gently took his hand in his, giving a light squeeze. "I think you should leave Landon," He insists, glancing at Landon who rolled his eyes.

"Whatever, you'll see. When she's better and doing well don't bother to come and see her."

"And when she's so fucked up that she doesn't recognize her own children, again, don't bother to call me."

And with that, and an angry middle finger, Landon stomped out and slammed the door behind him. Immediately, Logan plopped down on the couch, pulling away from Janus as he called his head in his hands.

"Lo?" Janus murmurs, sitting next to him, scooting close to him. "You okay?"

"Not...not really."

"Do you want—"

Janus squeaked as he was suddenly tugged on Logan's lap with his arms wrapped around his body with his face buried in his shoulder.

"Okay, cuddle time it is," Janus says with a chuckle, melting his hold.

"I'm sorry," Logan mumbles, the words coming out muffled, and yet, the sound rang in his ears. Logan rarely apologized, and he rarely needed to. It was odd, but even then, Janus merely nodded.

"It's okay, you don't need to be sorry," Janus assures his lover, failing to sniffle a giggle as Logan laid on the couch, tugging him close to his chest. Janus gladly accepted the cuddles and nuzzled against his chest. He would make his daddy feel much better!

---

After a much-needed cuddle session, Logan had finally released him from his death grip. Janus had decided his daddy needed a much-needed present, so, which some help from beautiful metallic markers, his collection of colored pencils, scissors, and glue, he began cutting and creating a card for his lover. Meanwhile, Logan had headed into the kitchen to work on lunch, he had given him a notice beforehand how it wouldn't be anything too complicated, but Janus didn't mind, food is food. As long as it's not veggies he doesn't mind.

Janus finished the card, he isn't much of an artist, but the card wasn't that bad. He figured there was nothing gold glitter can't fix. He dug through his crafts box that he had put together and tugged out a smaller bottle of glitter. He tugged at the cap, frowning as it didn't come off, and tugged harder. Suddenly the entire top came off and flew at him, covering Janus in glitter as he squeaked in surprise.

He blinked, confused for a moment before pouting at the mess. "That wasn't supposed to happen..."

"Janus, lunch is—" Janus tensed at his caregivers' voice and turned towards the doorway, offering a guilty smile while the other stared blankly at the tiny specks of glitter inching between every fiber in the carpet.

"Uh...s-surprise?" Janus squeaks, shrinking as Logan sucked in a harsh breath.

"Janus go try and clean yourself up," Logan demands sharply. Janus frowned and stood, watching as a pile of glitter dropped straight onto the ground, there isn't a chance in hell that the carpet would ever be glitter-free again.

"I can help clean—"

"No, just go, you've done enough," Logan snips, rubbing at his temples.

Janus slumped, ignoring how the harsh tone hurt far more than he believed it should have. He knew Logan was frustrated and annoyed, and while most of it wasn't aimed towards him, Janus couldn't help but feel guilty as he had only worsened his mood.

"Fine," Janus murmurs bitterly, disguising his hurt with anger before,
carefully maneuvering around the glitter even though his body is already painted in it. He trudged out of the living room and pushed back tears building up. He hadn't meant to make a mess, he just wanted to make a card for Logan to make him feel better, but he had only made it worst.

He made it to the bathroom and stripped himself off, sniffling as he got in. The water pelted at his skin, washing off a bit of glitter on its own, but Janus had to wipe at most of it, but even then, it clung to his skin like a parasite. He huffed in frustration, rubbing at his skin until it flared red, indicating irritation. At one point he gave in, having scrubbed most of the glitter—and his skin—off.

After drying off and throwing on a pair of Toy Story pajamas, Janus shuffled out of his room, his chest burning as he drew closer. He peeked in, noticing Logan tossing the vacuum to the side, seemingly having given up on cleaning the glitter out of the carpet. Janus didn't blame him, he couldn't even get the substance off his skin, let alone a carpet.

"Sorry," He calls out, gripping at the edge of the doorframe as he turned his neck around to stare at him. With pursed lips, Logan shook his head.

"You know you're not supposed to use glitter on your own Janus, I have that rule to assure that messes like this-" He gestured to the carpet and table as a reference, causing Janus to duck his head. "-don't happen. What on earth were you thinking?" He snaps.

"I wanted to make you a card," He admits, picking at the paint on the door frame. "It needed sparkles..."

Logan paused for a moment, his eyebrows furrowing together. "Why would I need a card?"

Janus pushed off the doorframe and carefully shuffled over to the table, plucking up the unfinished card that Logan hadn't noticed. On the front in big, colorful letters it wrote:

Happy Not-Holiday!

Logan raised an eyebrow, his expression softening some. "Not holiday?" He asks, his tone borderline amused.

"I didn't know what to put on the front," Janus admits bashfully.

It was either that or Happy Sorry-your-family's-a-bitch.

Carefully, Logan took the card from him and opened it, chuckling at the picture of a very colorful heart Janus drew. His eyes drifted to the small paragraph written as well and began reading.

M'sorry your family's dumb. They don't deserve a perfect daddy in their lives anyway. I love you lots and even though today wasn't a very good day I hope you like this card. (You better cause my hands cramping). Don't worry, we can have campfires and cuddles without them. You can be my family and I'll be yours. (You don't have a choice by the way. You're kinda stuck with me from now on.)

Love, Janus

P.S
Ice cream helps me feel better so we should try eating ice cream to help you feel better. How about ice cream for dinner? It's very nutritious and cures sadness.

Logan snorted at the note on the bottom, shaking his head as he pulled Janus into a hug, which he gladly accepted. "Oh little snake, I love it. Thank you," He mutters, squeezing a bit. Janus didn't mind, he merely squeezed back.

"You're welcomes," He murmurs, nuzzling at him. "I'm sorry for making a mess—"

"No, little snake, don't apologize. Daddy's sorry for snapping at you earlier, that was uncalled for. Just because I'm in a negative headspace gives me no right to lash out at you. I love your card very much, thank you, Janus."

Janus beamed, burying his smile into his lovers' shoulders. "You're welcome," He squeaks.

"Let's go eat lunch, then we can relax for a bit."

"Can we have ice cream for dinner?" Janus asks, shooting a sweet smile up at him. Logan chuckled, stroking his hair.

"After dinner, and we'll go to Dairy Queen."

"Deal!"
