Tonight's Night of Champions Pay-Per-View despite featuring matches without any title on the line still features matches with future title considerations. In this case, BlissCross will once again go up against the team of Ember Moon and Dana Brooke with future Women's Tag Team Title considerations. 

For Vade however, he has to go up against the scheming, self-proclaimed Liberator, Sami Zayn. While their showdown goes beyond title contention, for Sami, this is validation of his crusade for justice going the right way by making an example of Vade. Vade sees this as his opportunity to prove that he can swat away a gnat in the form of Sami Zayn.

Backstage
Before the show
Alexa was already done with her makeup as she saw Vade seated by some crates, staring endlessly to the other side of the hall. Alexa approached him and she sat beside him.

Alexa: We have locker rooms to relax and prepare there.

Vade: Nah, I'm used to this.

Alexa: Don't go loner on me babe. Come on.

Vade: Thanks for the offer but I have to deal with swatting away a gnat in the form of Sami Zayn.

Alexa: speaking of gnats, Ember and Dana come to mind but we got this.

The two shared a moment before momentarily going on their separate ways for tonight.

Night of Champions 
Middle of the 1st Hour
Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross v. Ember Moon and Dana Brooke
Match Start
After both teams made their way to the ring, Alexa and Dana were once again the legal competitors to start the match. Dana flexed with Ember applauding her despite the boos of the crowd. Not fazed by any of this, Alexa flexed then did her signature pose

Dana shoves Alexa to the mat. As Alexa attempts to get a measure of payback, Dana quickly heads back to tag in Ember. Ember gets in the ring as Alexa turns into the Five Feet of Fury as fists flew as both Goddesses punched the other on the head with the referee separating the two. 

Timeskip to the end of the match
Nearly mirroring the last encounter between both teams, Nikki is in the ring after she tagged in for the save but ended up being on the brunt of the offensive of Moon-Brooke. As Nikki was fazed, Dana hits a Handspring Corner Back Elbow attack on Nikki. At that exact moment, with Nikki slowly going down, Alexa blind tagged Nikki, which the referee saw.

Dana drags Nikki near her corner as she tags in Ember. Ember goes to the top rope, aiming for Nikki to get hit with an Eclipse. Dana sneakily goes to the Alexa's corner and tries to knock her out, but is instead, in range for a right handed punch from the Goddess. 

In the ring, Ember was able to hit the Eclipse on Nikki but the referee refused to make the count, which agitated the War Goddess. As Nikki was rolling out of the ring, Alexa walked behind Ember as she kicks her on the gut for a Bliss DDT

As Ember is down, Alexa goes to her corner to attempt for a Twisted Bliss. However, Dana, in a last ditch effort grabs Alexa's foot to delay descent. Alexa tried to kick away Dana. It was at this point, Nikki grabbed Dana's foot down from the apron as she hit the Purge on Dana. Alexa was not left unscathed as due to Dana still having hold of her ankle, she fell from the top rope down to the mat.

Ember thought she can take advantage by pinning the downed Alexa, but it only garnered a two count. Ember was livid and began to lock in Alexa in a grapevine transitioning into a modified STF

Ember intensifies the hold as Alexa was screaming in agony. However, Nikki runs in to hit a Running Crossbody, causing the War Goddess to release the hold. With Alexa freed, she saw that Ember was down as she hits the Insult to Injury for good measure.

The Goddess this time goes to the top rope as with no other threat in sight, she dives for the Twisted Bliss.

Alexa covers Ember for the three count and pinfall victory for BlissCross.

As Alexa and Nikki had their arms raised, they shared a moment where they felt they have done more than enough to prove that they are future contenders for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships. This was answered however with the Tag Champions Liv Morgan and Ruby Riott assaulting BlissCross after a hard fought match. Despite the Riott Squad surviving a near scare of a title loss to the Kabuki Warriors, the Riotts still managed to beat down and dismantle Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross.

As Nikki was tossed out of the ring and struck down with the title's centerplate on the back, Liv positioned the title as she hits the 201 Facebreaker on Alexa. 

Ruby goes in to wrench the Goddess's arm for a RIott Kick before Liv hits another 201 Facebreaker to Alexa, causing the Goddess to bounce back into the ropes. Liv ran into Alexa as she hits the ObLIVion, with Alexa's head landing on Liv's Women's Tag Title Centerplate. 

The Riotts raise their belts before walking out through the crowd with referees and medical teams heading in to check on BlissCross. 

Trainer's Room
After the match
Vade went in to check on Alexa and Nikki. Nikki was mostly okay but Alexa was still being evaluated. She was laying on her back resting up.

Vade: *walks in* Oh no, Lexi. 

Alexa: *coming to* mmmhh? 

Vade: Please tell me you're okay.

Alexa weakly nods when a trainer comes in and delivers the evaluation.

Trainer: She passed concussion protocol but needs to lay down for a bit. And don't you *at Vade* have a match next?

Vade: Shoot! But...

Alexa: Babe, *weakly smiles at Vade* kick ass out there. Okay?

Vade: I will...babe.

Vade walks off as he has his match next against Sami Zayn.

Vade Drifter v. Sami Zayn
Match Start
Vade and Sami were across one another as Vade stared daggers at a cocky Sami. Sami verbally taunted Vade and pointed saying

Sami: You are just a mode and form of injustice! I will vanquish you to end this curse!

Vade ignored Sami as the Liberator reached out his hands at Vade to get him to lock up. As both men locked up, Sami kicked Vade on the gut and shoved him out of the way. He brags about it and shouts at Vade

Sami: You're nothing but a pushover! Had you just listened to me, you wouldn't be in this situation!

Vade stood up and Sami was offering a high five to get him to agree to his pronouncement, which Vade reciprocated with a shove of his own.

Timeskip to the end of the match
After a lot of dirty tactics and mind games, mostly from Sami, Vade was finally able to get the upper hand after dodging a clothesline attempt to counter it into a Die Together. Vade knew that he can end Sami here and there. 

Vade sets Sami up for the Rage-a-Hol Piledriver but Sami keeps his weight down and counters it into an Buckle Exploder Suplex. Sami goes for the pin but can only muster a 2 count. Sami snaps at the referee for the supposed "slow" count. 

As Sami was distracted, Vade knees Sami on the back to hit the VadeOut, only mustering a 2 count after Sami instinctively kicks out. Vade signals for the end as he starts to go for Sami's legs to grapevine for the GKY. Sami starts to wriggle his legs, trying to stop Vade's attempt and with his remaining core strength, kicks Vade to the corner behind him. 

Vade pushes his arms out to grasp the ropes, only few centimeters away from contact from the referee trapped by the corner. Vade lets go of the grip as he lets the referee away from him. Sami saw this as the opening to run and kick the Drifter's head off with a Helluva Kick

Sami then covers Vade with a Schoolboy Pin. 

ONE...TWO..

Sami sneakily lifts his legs up to the top rope for leverage.

THREE!

Vade was unable to kick out due to the leverage as Sami gets up and while clutching his back, has his arm raised as the victor of the match. As Vade tries to rush at Sami, Sami ran out and snuck away, just as he did with the victory.

Sami taunts Vade with the L sign on the forehead and he hits a parting verbal shot.

Sami: Ignorance is Bliss. Idiocy is Bliss! You sided with the wrong choice and should have gone to me...oh too late, you're long gone Vade! Your unjust ass got beaten by the liberator!

Sami laughs and walks to the back as Vade gets out of the ring and kicks the ring steps.

Backstage
After Night of Champions 2020
Alexa had been given the green light to rest and was cleared as she saw a disappointed Vade seated by some crates, with hands covering his face.

Alexa: Hey, you doing okay?

Vade: Is this some joke to you?

Alexa: No! No! You did your best but....

Vade: I was outmaneuvered by that goddamned weasel. Maybe he's right...

Alexa: *gasps* Vade...

Vade: Maybe had I been liberated by him, none of this...

Alexa slaps Vade in the face. Vade held the spot as Alexa tries to sternly get him back from the rut.

Alexa: Give me a chance. Remember I am a Goddess and that Liberator is nothing compared to me. You can outwit him too. You don't need me reminding you of who you are and not having to mold your image to another's pedestal.

Vade: *grunts* understood.

Vade walks away as Alexa smiles.

After the segment
Vade walks back as Alexa apologetically kisses the cheek where her hand met his face.

Alexa: Babe, I'm so sorry I did that. Was that too strong?

Vade: Nah, not the first time I got slapped by you *chuckles*

Alexa: *giggles* What is that supposed to mean?

Vade: I think I got used to it. Plus I know you didn't fully mean it.

Alexa: Are you gonna punish me for ruining you on TV Mr. Drifter?

Vade: *chuckles more* Lexi, Vade left the building. Pat is not the kind to lift his hand on a woman. Especially, his Goddess.

Alexa hugs Vade as both rest up and head back to the locker room before turning in at the nearest hotel to the arena.
