Rain is droplets of water cascading down the sky. To meet her love again. But what no one notices is it's also the sky crying 'cause of his own heartbreak. He loved rain. Rain loves the sea. The temporary opportunity to hold rain in his arms made him ecstatic, but the severance every time tore apart his heart. And at last he let the tears escape, he let his love escape, he let rain escape.
That day too the sky was crying hard, sobbing with the sound of thunder, but this time his own cleavage in heart was less painful than the one he was witnessing. The dark Saturday sky was the spectator of two more heartbreaks.
In a trice, one of the two 'seen' hearts got petrified of the thunderclap. The loudest sob of the sky escaped.
"I am done with you. I am done with your lies Imtiaz Alqqazi."
Imtiaz is a twenty-six-year-old guy who loved only one girl in his life. Adishi Sharma, his wife. Imtiaz means 'unique' and his pitch dark cavern eyes had the same eccentricity. He is a singer who loves writing. There is no such emotion which Immi's pen cannot write and his heart cannot express. Except his love for his wife.
While Adishi was a 'gift of god' given to Imtiaz's life in 8th standard. If Imtiaz has a racing heart, then Adishi is a calm-sensible soul. She, too, loved only one man in her life, apart from his father. That was Immi. They budded with innocence, bloomed in silence, but wilted unaware.
And now there they stood, in between the tears of one more heartbroken, fully drenched.
"Adi-"
"No! Not this time. I have had enough of your lies. Please stop it dammit. It- It hurts."
The 'receiver' broke and tore the 'gift' itself. She growled with all the anger she had but choked by the pain her own words were causing.
"You are suffocating me, Immi."
The wind howled, pleading to avoid the upcoming, but one broken heart was adamant to end the claustrophobia today.
With a straight face and neutral eyes, eventually 'I hate you' was told.
"I want divorce. "
Imtiaz stood frozen. The man who never cried couldn't stop the orbs to - let go, let go of those old tears, to let go of his love, to let go of his Adishi. He once left home for her, now his home was leaving him. Adishi was not going because she loved somebody else, she was leaving 'cause she un-loved 'him'.
But is it easy? To un-love? Adishi's neurons un-loved Imtiaz Alqqazi but her heartbeats still love 'her Immi'.
He stood there with his eyes fixed on the back of his home. His stomach churned and eyes shot up red with the segregation of both tears and love.
An hour later he gathered all the courage and picked up the debris of his broken-heart soaked with the tears of heart-broken sky. Igniting the engine and burning his cheeks with tiny lava droplets, he drove off.
Entering his living room, the first thing which caught his sight was a yellow piece of paper folded roughly with anger and placed carelessly on the center table. The dark side of the same color which always lurks behind — jealousy and madness replaced the yellow of joy, shine and friendship. With trembling hands, he lifted the darkness of yellow that he himself sown in the same heart where he planted joy and shine once. Imtiaz felt a tight knot in his throat, as if someone was choking him with a rope.
He unfolded the paper and read—
I am leaving Immi.
Staying at Amelia's tonight.
Scientists say that high exposure to yellow color causes irritability, aggression or anger. Imtiaz's anger led him to the streets he never want to pass by and when he tried walking on that road, his heart, Adishi befriended darkness, away from the sun, away from yellow and the new Imtiaz. One in aggression, the other in fear, both numb to think and act, agitated all the colors including black, leaving them naked and transparent. Now the place they stood on was unknown to both of them and so were they - unknown to each other.
