Chapter 27 {Savita}

Savita sat in the council room, listening to her her father's council members—they were all representatives chosen to represent each warlord since the warlords couldn't always be at the citadel—drone on about the economy, problems in the cities and towns—monster and bandit attacks alike—,and harvesting of the yearly crops along the western coast; it was the only great crop ground around since the plains weren't that tillable. It was all incredibly boring.
She just wanted to get this over with so she could go speak with her secret new advisor.
After another half an hour of torture, she stood up, her jade embedded green dress sending green flecks around the room.
She had started wearing green colored dress more often, especially ones with gems embedded in them. She knew the color irritated the council. They preferred if she stop wearing the colors of In Terra Stronghold and wear more gold, orange, and red colors. The colors of Et ignis in Terris.
"We are finished here. I have more important things to do than listening to you all talk about things I'm already aware." She told them, looking down her nose at them, ignoring their annoyed and outraged looks.
That's right, you little power hungry worms. You think you can control this kingdom through me when you are so very wrong.
The warlords were far more cooperative then these five since all the warlords fully supported her. Well Baskara didn't and he paid the price for that.
One tried to protest, but she gave him such a fierce glare that he immediately sat back down, his eyes only on the table.
She allowed herself a little satisfaction at such a accomplishment.
Know you're place or face my wrath, peasant.
She learned over the years from her cruel father that intimidation was a ruler's best weapon when it came to putting others in their place. She had seen him do this countless times with Lokeigh, his former High Mage, when the mage suggested to do something her father didn't like or went behind his back and took a matter into his own hands.
She turned her back on them, and walked out the door.
A couple of guards from Ignacio's elite King's Guard followed her from the council room to her chambers.
Ignacio and Warlord Keahi left to go capture Ignatius on her orders.
Keahi Houri, warlord of the southern steppes, and Vesta Rekka, warlord of the northern steppes, were the most loyal of the warlords, and would gladly lay down their lives for her.
Keahi and Ignacio knew better than not to fail at their task or else she would be extremely furious with them.
She was still frustrated with Ignatius's escape and even more so when she recently learned of Elidi's escape from the dungeons. She wasn't sure how Elidi managed to escape but she would find whoever helped her and make sure they suffered for it. Elidi was a trusted associate of hers before she turned against her and helped her friend escape. If only Elidi had remained loyal to her then would she be able to use her magic along with all the other mages to help her protect the Draconigena race.
Well now Elidi was a accused of treason and was wanted preferably alive but if she was killed in her capture then that was one less public execution she would have to arrange.
Savita and her entourage soon arrived at her chambers.
"You two are free to go for the night." She told them.
"We have direct orders from Captain Ignacio himself to not leave your chambers unguarded or to allow you walk the corridors alone." The first guard, his back straight and looking forwards, not directly at her.
She admired his precision of his position. He was clearly trained well.
Ignacio was the best Captain of the King's Guard in the whole history of Et ignis in Terris and most likely in all the other kingdoms as well. He did not tolerate disobedience, laziness, or lack of effort. He believed pain was the best teacher.
And she knew it was true. He never went easy on Surya even though he was the king's first born son, and chosen heir for the throne, the throne that should have been rightfully been given to her, not to her little brother.
Surya was given everything whereas she was just a tool to be used when her father needed her. She hated that man and now with him dead she could dance on his grave.
"Well I'm the queen and you will listen to me." She said, forcing a commanding tone into her words and onto her face. "I'll be perfectly fine alone. I'll even lock my door. Is that good enough?"
The guard still didn't look at her. He only exchanged a look with his comrade who had a rather eager look on his face.
"There is a great party going on tonight at the tavern with lots of pretty, young woman looking for someone to spend the night with, and I for one ain't going to miss a chance to spend the night with a beautiful girl." The second guard whispered enthusiastically to his friend.
Savita tried not to listen to the guards conversation but she couldn't help it, especially learning that her guards needed a chance every now and then to have a night of freedom and fun.
The first guard reluctantly gave in.
"There's a few guards posted at the ends of the corridor. If you need anything I'll be with them." He told her.
"Oh, come on. Her highness, gives us the night off and you still want to stand guard. What a downer. Suit yourself. I'm going to go find myself a girl. Maybe I'll find you one too." The second guard said mischievously, and hastily left.
"Good night to you, your highness." The first guard said, and went to go join the other guards as he said he would.
As soon he was gone, she opened her door and shut it behind her, locking it.
She let out a sigh of relief. She managed to get rid of both of them so she could talk without fear of anyone overhearing her.
"Took you long enough, my young queen." The mysterious woman's voice echoed from the dark shadows of the room.
Her sudden appearance and how she managed to sneak in here made her jump.
That woman needed to wear a bell or something, or else she would end up giving Savita a heart attack.
"It would have been much easier if I turned them to ash." She said, allowing a white flame to come to life upon her palm.
"That would have not been very convenient for me. Having guards mysteriously turned to ash with no explanation is not the best way for you to stay in incognito since you still refuse to tell me your real name."
"And as I've said before. You will have to earn my complete trust before I can reveal such precious information to you, my young queen." She said to Savita's annoyance.
She would prefer knowing who she was dealing with besides knowing that she was a Draconigena. She needed a name.
All the kingdoms recorded any know Draconigena in the guide for the eight species of dragons that roamed Elementa. It was better to know some Draconigena than none at all.
So far the only living known ones were this woman, Ignatius, and one named Zephyr, a Air Draconigena. The rest of the known were dead, including her beloved Kaj.
"Very well. Just tell me this plan of yours to get the other kingdoms to follow me in my desire to protect all the Draconigena."
"First, you must seek out allies in the other kingdoms. Propose a meeting to...strengthen bonds between your kingdoms."
"And if they refuse?" She asked, thinking asking for an alliance between the kingdoms was ridiculous. There hadn't been an alliance between the kingdoms in over five hundred years since Bellum ex Quod Draco ipsos Troiugenas.
"Then you simply go from one kingdom to the other, attacking them till they yield to your superiority." She said, a wicked smile spreading on her lips.
"But how do I convince my people to attack the other kingdoms?"
"Simple. Tell them that these other kingdoms have become magical creature sympathizers and need to be set back on the right course."
"And you're sure that this would work?" Savita asked in a skeptical tone.
"Yes," she replied, her bright amber eyes shinning like flames in the darkness of her chambers.
"Very well, I'll prepare a speech to the warlords and council to convince them of your plans." She said to the Draconigena.
"Good. Soon Elementa will belong to you and you alone, my young queen."

P.S. I know the story summary is confusing but Bellum ex Quod Draco ipsos Troiugenas/War of The Dragon-Blooded ended five hundred and ten years ago. I hope this helps to make the summary a little bit more understandable.
