This article is in celebration of the 11th Anniversary of Savage Appreciation Day (created by yours truly) and the glorious minor villain that is Savage!

Seriously, I love this guy! I really wish he had more screen time in the RTTE series. And I especially wished that he would become the new villain after Viggo's and Ryker's respective "deaths". Kinda peeved me that they brought back Viggo (talk about the plot armor on that guy — he had more than the actual main character!!!) and introduced Krogan instead.

Now I'm sure that, to you, this might be a stupid question to ask, since it's probably pretty obvious what happened to him afterwards. But, knowing me, as I'm sure you have by now, I tend to ask a lot of obvious questions but come up with plausible answers that not even I have had considered before. It's as thought-invoking for me as it must be for you.

But what happened to Savage after being imprisoned?

If this continued in the PG format, he probably would've just stayed and rotted in prison. Maaaybe get banished? But if this were NOT PG, then he definitely would've been executed to prevent any sympathizers from liberating him and risk another coup.

For me though, since I'm such a simp for minor villain characters, and since I'm such a Savage fan, while I do support those options, my personal headcanon is that Savage was freed by sympathizers and fled with his loyal followers, intending on gathering more strength and returning once the time was ripe to take over the Berserker Tribe for his own.

Or he could just leave and create an Outcast band of his own. He'd have enough followers for it. 😎

Another alternative is that he stays on Berserk after being freed, and repeats the same strategy he had the last time, now that the Riders are gone, and he actually succeeds.

What do you guys think? Do you think he died or got banished? Or do you think he was freed and fled? Do you think he then schemes for revenge, or just left and made his own warband?

If not, then what do you think happened to Savage? Or, if he fled, what do you think he did after he exiled himself?
