EVEN THOUGH being in his final year was exhausting, taeyong felt endlessly bored. everyone expected him to study 24/7, which he basically did (besides modelling), but the lack of some action and excitement seemed to rob his will to live.

always hanging out with doyoung also did get boring at some point, especially because the other had better friends than him.

so eventually the thought of hanging out with seo chayu had gotten to his mind, but then again it made him feel insecure: the younger boy seemed to be so sucessfull and independet, he didn't even bother to hang around with the kids from their school.

during lunch break taeyong searched the whole cafeteria with his eyes, but he couldn't find the familiar face of chayu anywhere. disappointed he dragged himself back to the classroom.

this day was shitty to begin with and nobody loves me... he thought, but skipped on whining out loud.

as taeyong pushed open the door of the suposedly empty classroom he found, who he had been looking for.

seo chayu was sitting at his desk next to the window in the back row with a tiny lunch box placed in front of him.

"hi chayu, i was looking for you- oh aren't you hungry?" taeyong gasped in surprise when he saw that the latter was only eating a salad.

unfortunately the other seemed to be embarassed once again. "believe it or not, but i don't enjoy eating as much, so no, i'm not hungry." he sighed. "but you were looking for me?"

"ah y-yes." stuttered taeyong, suddenly he had forgotten what he had intended to say and the words left inside his head were discomposed. "do you want to hang out this afternoon?"

chayu's eyes widened. "you... and me?"

"of course dummy, who else would i be talking to in this empty room." taeyong laughed, although he found his reaction kinda cute. maybe seo chayu wasn't the withdrawn boy everyone thought he was.

with his eyes still as wide as melons he looked up at taeyong. "if you want to... but i have to work until 7 pm."

"that's okay, i can wait." said taeyong, actually more relieved than he thought he would be.

"for real?" eventually chayu almost choked on his salad. "when and where do we meet then?"

taeyong rolled his eyes, as the other boy's disbelief finally began to become annoying. "i'll just come to astronaut café at 7:15 pm."

for the rest of the day taeyong was actually excited to have an event to live up to; it even made him feel motivated to study. he was well aware that they had school on the next day, but he didn't care and as much as he knew about chayu, the boy rarely ever slept.

when he arrived at the café, chayu was already outside with two yogurt smoothies in his hands and a huge smile. "hi, i thought i'd get you one of these too."

"that's nice, thank you." slowly taeyong began to have doubts whether chayu wasn't too soft for this, but he slowly tossed them off. seriously, he is so kind!

although he was trying hard to surpress it, chayu looked like he was a going to bounce up and down with joy. "so what're we doing today?"

"since you said, you don't play video games because you're bad at it, i decided to change that today." actually taeyong had figured out that it'd be more senseful to go to a public place, rather than his home; it'd be way too awkward for both of them.

"so we're going to a pc bang?" asked chayu curiously. "to be honest i've never been to such a place before."

"just how are you a teenage boy? i used to hang around there with ten all the time when we didn't want to study." taeyong just laughed and ignored the pain that he was getting from this memory.

the shorter boy just shrugged it off. "i don't know, i guess i was studying."

"more like studying probably."

about twenty minutes later they arrived at the pc bang and before chayu could even take out his wallet, taeyong put a bill on the counter. "the fee is on me, since i'm the one who asked to hang out anyway."

although the latter didn't seem too happy about it, he also didn't object.

it turned out to be a lot of fun to watch chayu, who was visiting a place like this for the first time, curiously observing his surroundings.

but taeyong also had to admit, that chayu didn't really fit into the image of the typical high school boy playing video games instead of studying at the library. not yet... maybe he wasn't even as bad as he had told him.

taeyong booted the computers and examined the different games. "okay, for today i think we should play overwatch... i know it's basic though."

"oh! i've heard of that one, it's really popular at the moment, right?"

"yes, that's true! i'm proud of you." smiled taeyong, while chayu jusy chuckled. "only until you start the game."

taeyong hummed in reply and finally looked up from the screen. "it's common knowledge that the overwatch tutorial is completly senseless, so we'll start the real game right away."

"but i don't know how it works." whined chayu and taeyong tried to calm him. "one match doesn't take so long, so you'll just have to see how it works."

"ah okay... can we at least be on the same team?"

"obviously yes and i recommend you to chose reinhardt or reaper as hero." taeyong leaned over to chayu's screen and pointed at said heroes.

"OH MY GOD I AM OVERWHELMED."

taeyong had never heard chayu speak this loud in his whole life and it made him want to squeal.

as the game started he noticed, that chayu was just running around in the game aimlessly.

"one tip: just shoot at everything that isn't in our team." speaking honestly taeyong had no clue how to explain the game to him without forcing him through the game play.
to him it was actually fun, since chayu acted to clumsy and so... different than ten. he could just hope that the other wasn't annoyed.

when the match was over, chayu sighed in relief. "i have no clue how i did this, but i didn't die at least."

wow he was actually better than when i first tried this game...

"i'm proud of you!" he repeated for the second time that day and glanzed over to the other boy. "oh my, why're you crying?"

"i'm not crying, my fake lash came off." this was the chayu taeyong knew and he couldn't help but laugh. "just take it off then, i don't think you'll need it."

chayu remained quiet for a while and then spoke up softly. "thank you so much for hanging out with me."
